I'm in town visiting my parents, and my husband and I came here for a date night. I quickly looked up "best restaurants/date night spots in Bakersfield" and this place came up. I'm glad it did! The vibe and atmosphere reminded me of a bar I love in San Francisco. Drinks were great and the food was delicious. Glad Bakersfield has a bar and restaurant like this. While I'm ok with the other go-to restaurants in Bakersfield, it's nice to have this adults-only spot where one can relax and have great cocktails.I'll definitely be back next time I visit my family.Also the dukkah fries are ???

The green drink is a matcha lemon drop and it was good, but not enough matcha flavor for me personally. Yellow drink is a golden rabbit. Cocktails were on point and good. I got the fish and chips and they give you a ton of chips. My friend he got a burger and salad and he stated it was 10/10. We also got the soft serve as a recommendation from the server and OMG that was the best vanilla bean soft serve with chocolate drizzle and graham cracker crumble ever.While food and drinks were amazing I would have to say the service is top notch. I forgot to get the name of our server or well forget it, but she was super helpful in helping us navigate the menu and her upbeat personality just exuded throughout. If I'm ever in bakersfield again I will be coming back.

The Botanist is a one-of-a-kind experience here in Bakersfield. It truly feels like a bar that belongs in a bigger city. They have lovely decor with drapes and oil painting portraits everywhere. Wait staff are friendly and responsive. Our primary server was delightful and all the others we interacted with were courteous and quick. The drinks were exquisite! I ordered Pineapple Express which was sweet but not syrupy sweet. My lovely wife ordered the February Twin Flames drink which really tasted like drinking a rose - just wonderful! Seared cauliflower with herbs and maybe pistachios and a nice dill sauce (but not overbearing with the dill) was the perfect starter. The crispy shrimp burger was great!! And we can't say enough about the yellowfin tartar except to say it was a very elevated rendition of poke! Garlic fries were a nice accompaniment. And for dessert - we shared a LOVELY crème brûlée with raspberries and mint leaves. It is expensive, but in this case you get what you pay for: attention to every detail of food and drink, a trendy but cozy ambiance, and excellent service. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BOTANIST.

We were visiting Bakersfield for the weekend and stumbled upon this gem. It feels like you go through a portal to another time and place. The decorations, lighting, and music create a very unique ambiance. We had the 930 Tea Time which was 50% off in happy hour, and it was served in this nice tea pot, and our ice had leaves in it. The drink was soo good and a great quantity, it was enough for the both of us. We also had the Botanist Salad which was crunchy and light, you can taste the fresh herbs. The Botanist Smash was delicious and very filling, the beef is great quality. Our waiters were friendly and our order came out fast. When we come back to Bakersfield we will make sure to stop here again.

Amazing Speakeasy style bar. Amazing craft cocktails, and delicious food options. We just dropped in for a quick snack and a couple drinks. The Messe plate (hummus and veggies) was excellent! The other dishes we saw come out looked absolutely delicious as well. The servers were all pleasant and helpful. We will definitely be back!
