We were greeted with smiles on entering and asked what our seating preference was. I asked what was better on the two choices Luis said the taco salad, I asked our server and she asked what were you wanting. I thought about it and went with the pastrami sandwich. Oh my goodness was it the right choice. It was so tender and so juicy. The onion rings were fresh and were made fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant. Kuddos to Veronica and Luis.

I started coming here before it was wake up cafe and was called Maggie’s. Maggie’s was really good and set the standard really high. When Maggie’s was bought out and first became Wake Up Cafe. The food was absolutely not good and the coffee was even terribly cheap and you taste it. You can taste the level of quality they put into their food when they first took over. But after coming a few times recently I can really say they really improved their quality of food. Had the patty melt and it was just as good as if it never changed. Waiters made sure my cup was never empty. Checked on us frequently. Music is really good and plays some early 2000’s music. Designed nicely. All the furniture and color has a nice flow and matches with the aesthetic of the environment. One of the better breakfast places in Bakersfield.Parking: During rush hour it will be difficult to find parking and is very limited as well because there are other stores that use the parking lot. It gets cramped really fast so expect to park a little farther than you would like sometimes.

I tried the iced coffee that looks great and it didn’t have any flavor. It just taste like sugar water. Also try the Chilaquiles and they’re extremely spicy. Kind of feel like this place is over hyped probably won’t be back again.
