Ample parking and I went there on a week day morning so I didn't have to wait in lines or deal with a busy store. Great atmosphere, everything looked organized and stocked. Would come here again.

I have been shopping here for over 12 years.... this cashier Aruna is the worst and has been the whole time! Every time she has checked me out it has been unpleasant.... and I do everything I can to not get in her line..... HORRIBLE!!!! She literally ruins my day!

My favorite location! Such a great selection! Near the easy access roadways and the staff is amazing! The deals each week are a treat! Always the place to go for weekly groceries! Thank you!!

I'm fairly certain when you claim a product is a Porterhouse steak, but remove half od it and hide it behind other pieces, is unethical... possibly illegal as a form of fals advertisement.

These had everything I needed and this store was big and they had no line and they have a Starbucks inside. They need more in the deli the deli was empty and it was noon so they need to stock that up

A Safeway employee's mask was around his neck - not covering his face at all. I called ten minutes after leaving the store and spoke to Kathryn, the store manager. She told me it's tough to wear a mask, uncomfortable and hard to breathe for the employees so she understands why they take the masks off. If anyone else encounters this at Safeway or another business, it takes thirty seconds to report a COVID safety hazard to San Mateo county business compliance referral task force. There are several full time employees on this task force dedicated to investigating the complaints.

This review is for their delivery service. It is COMPLETE & UTTER GARBAGE!!! Selected 6-7pm delivery, and even at 7:20pm, the "status" says 6-7pm delivery. So I call in, they have no clue what's going on, thinking maybe it's outside the lobby of our condo, or maybe the driver is picking up the groceries, or... or... In other words, they have no clue. Even worse, they used Door Dash (insert "total circus" here) as their "delivery partner." Add to it, most of what I needed, which is obvious stuff they ALWAYS have, they claimed not to have (like chicken). So I drive to Safeway, guess what, the chicken is plentiful. They just didn't want to bother. GARBAGE!

After a terrible experience at the Pharmacy at CVS in San Carlos, I wanted to praise the experience we had after at the Pharmacy in Belmont Safeway (ECR).My 89 year old mom was really jerked around by the CVS pharmacy in San Carlos (I reviewed it just before this review) . After she didn't have her flu shot there, we went to Belmont Safeway pharmacy where she was a "walk in". Filling out the forms took about two minutes, we waited for the people head of us to vacate the waiting room (about three minutes). Once it was available, mom was lead in and given the shot. In and out took about five minutes. Safeway has a spacious waiting room (they only allow one person in at a time) and a separate area where the shots are given. I've seen them disinfect after shot given. They do ask if senior to call ahead to make sure they have the double dose. I went there two weeks ago for my flu shot - no problem. Easy, clean and efficient.

I finally tried having groceries delivered from Safeway and was disappointed. It was a small order $45 I think and they sent the tiniest ears of corn. The ones you would never take if you were in the store shopping yourself. The hummus I ordered was 16 ounces and because it was out of stock, they sent me a 10 ounce package instead. The cheese crackers were supposed to be two for one. But just one box was sent. I expected to hear back from Safeway after explaining this in the follow up "How did we do? " email. But no.

We went to Buy a drink at Starbucks Safeway, we ordered ginger and matcha pineapple , thinking it's good to boost our immune systems. We paid , and surprisingly, they still accepting cash and to my surprise after touching the cash and the register? She went straight to the back to prepare our drink without even washing her hand and put her two fingers inside the plastic cup (like she was about to toss it) gross !! Times like this that when we are trying to make ourselves healthy , social distancing, sanitizing everything inside the house , cellphones gadgets etc. and this? A good Hygiene suggestion to have 1 staff to take the order and another crew preparing our drink.

BETTER CHECK YOUR RECEIPT!!! Many times I've been here the price is wrong or not updated with the promotion they have going on.

It obvious they are short-staffed, so I do my part and go to self-checkout. I forgot my Safeway card, no problem right? Wrong, the attendant wouldn't give me a pass, she said I had to go back out to my car. So I walked out to my car and when I got back the line was around the block. So I put back my items, one by one and came home. Jumped on Amazon and 90% of what I needed will be here tomorrow. You know I get it, rules are rules, but now you have lost a customer, was it worth it? It was obvious to me the cashier was not happy in her position. So a note to the GM, when I have an unhappy employee, I always look for the win/win, and if my employee still isn't happy, then I have no problem taking that employee and turning them into a customer. PS I have 5 stars on Yelp! I was at Safeway around 3:30pm on the 2/28 The gal was "dated" with short wavy reddish hair and if looks could kill, I would be a goner. I didn't lose my cool, I didn't argue, I just walked away.

Absolutely horrendrous experience. Came in to buy balloons but no service to be found. Finally went up to a bagger who told me the person who does them leaves at 3pm?? No other comment made- no concern as how to unhelpful or unacceptable it is to not offer a service when someone drove all the way there. Also did not realize that it took a rocket scientist to put helium in balloons. I am honestly shocked that a company would ever invest in baggers to begin with, let alone ones that are this incompetent. Never going back to safeway as this is the second time I have had bad service. Very clear that the company has no care for its customers.
