The MOST wonderful matcha in the bay, as far as I'm concerned! Worth a stop in Berkeley, just for this!

Came near the end of the day and unfortunately they out of a lot of things including both soft serve ice creams. Fortunately we were able to get other tasty desserts that satisfied our sweet tooth.

a cute matcha-specialty shop with a good menu--hypothetically. unfortunately they seem to be extremely understaffed and out of most items every time i've visited. also, overpriced--10$ for a small slice of cake and 7$ for a latte.

Tastes good, but every time I try to swing by, they are out of shave ice and soft serve ?Also everything in this picture was $20 with a 10% tip

I visited this place about 4 years ago and I really loved it then. Today, we spent 15 minutes looking for parking just to eat the matcha ice cream. It’s been raining, wet, and cold for Saturday evening. The line was long. There was one person working on the register and making the orders. So it took a while to get order, but that was ok I guess for how much I wanted to enjoy it. The place doesn’t take cash, so be prepared to pay with a credit card or debit. I was a bit disappointed when I got my ice cream in a plastic disposable cup compared to the nice black Japanese bowl that appeared in their menu picture. The taste was as good as I remembered it. IT was so smooth almost between ice cream and frozen yogurt… just so creamy. The taste was matchawy I was disappointed again because they used to sprinkle matcha powder over the matcha ice cream. I didn’t get my matcha powder?.I did enjoy it. It was still worth coming, and I’ll certainly come back again.Even though I do think this place is worth 5 stars, I discounted one star for missing matcha powder, long wait, and bench cushions are ripped badly.

It’s 5:54 the server was nowhere to be found when he was supposed to be back 14 min ago. 5 customers walked out including us.Cute menu, too bad we didn’t get to try anything. This would be the second time there was nobody at the front to serve anyone. :(

Very cute place (I love the sakura flowers and other Japanese decor! Great for photos). I just don't like how pricey it is compared to similar places. I had their matcha soft serve, which wasn't overly sweet (which I like). Not as strong a matcha flavor as Matcha Cafe Maiko and doesn't have matcha powder on it, but still decent. I did find it on the icy side (similar to Uji Time) and I prefer my soft serve creamier (like Maiko and Somi Somi).I REALLY wanted a matcha spongy box, but they were out (Newark location was also out a week ago). I talked to the employee there about it and apparently there's a problem with the distributor. : ( So, don't expect them to carry it right now.I'll be back for the spongy box when they get it in. But I'll probably go elsewhere for other matcha things due to the high prices.

Matcha ice cream is good but they are severely stingy with the amount they give you almost feel cheated because it is expensive, better luck going to a quality matcha place, three tea bowls or somewhere in SF. Even go to a Asian grocery store and get a pack for the single price of one item

I can’t really review on the quality of the food but this review is for the service. We arrived around 6:30pm on a Sunday night and the cashier said BRB and left with a takeout bag. He was gone for about ~10-15 minutes and a line started to form. Everyone stood around for another 10 or so minutes and there was not an employe in sight . We all talked amongst ourselves wondering and hoping he was okay. Eventually after another 10 minutes the crowd started to leave. It was an unusual situation and I was disappointed because I had wanted to try their dessert items. The phones were ringing the entire time and it didn’t seem like there were any other employees around.

Hm, what to say about this place. Their matcha line is well-known of course, but the hojicha products seem bland - I've had other hojicha soft serve (actually, mixed with matcha but both flavors were still strong) at another chain Japanese dessert shop in the city which is much, much better. It's funny, I love these kind of asian dessert shops (and the location is hard to dismiss, especially with proximity to work) but there's something about the food quality and relatively high prices (pre-2022 inflation) that doesn't make me frequent them despite the convenience. I also don't appreciate their hours a whole lot. Their closures feels frequent and unpredictable enough that I would consider visiting once in a blue moon when my cravings take over the potential let downs.

Randomly came across Amausaan and decided to stop by bc we were craving matcha desserts. Me and my friends were pleasantly surprised by the interior decor and the seating arrangements. It was around 6pm on a Friday night. There weren't many people inside so there was no line and plenty of available seats. I love matcha soft serves but decided to go with a hot hojicha latte bc it was a really cold day. It was served up in under 5 minutes. Hojicha Latte: 4/5 Solid drink if you're into hojicha! I know the flavor isn't for everyone, but I'm personally into it and this drink rocked. I was pretty cold and this drink warmed me up to my toes. There were a couple other college students just hanging out/studying (which makes sense bc it's super close to UC Berkeley). Overall, I'm super impressed by the attention to detail and aesthetic of the cafe. I hope I can come back again to try out their matcha swirls!

Parking is street parking. Luckily I'm close enough to walk to here. It's an adorable store and a bit smaller than I thought but there is some tables to sit out. I ended up getting some dessert to go. Wasn't too busy on a Sunday early afternoon and didn't have to wait in line. Got the matcha + red bean ice cream cone and my friend the matcha soft serve. Great matcha ice cream, good balance of creamy, sweet, and the slightest amount of bitterness. It's hard to find some where that serves red bean ice cream, and I'm glad to find this place. If you enjoy red bean you'll love the red bean ice cream here. A little pricey for the size that you get but for a treat every once in a while. Will plan on coming back.

They are a little under staffed, but the quality was pretty good! I got the matcha parfait (D1) and it was a little too sweet for my taste. Plus a little pricey at $13.99, but not too bad. Overall good dessert spot, the matcha seemed high quality.
