The flavor of the meat and the smell of the place were amazing, the sauce was good too. But the meat had so much gristle I could barely chew it or swallow it. About half my lunch went back onto my plate because I couldn't chew it. That's not good especially considering this isn't a cheap meal. I think it's time they either need to re-train on how to cut the meat or find a different supplier, it just wasn't edible. I got the brisket and the ribs. Both had some of the best smoke flavor I had ever eaten, I was only.slightly let down by the texture of both. The brisket and ribs were both not as tender as I like but the flavor easily made up for it. The sides were okay, but I really can't do how good the flavors were. You can smell it around the block and as soon as you step in the smokey flavor just washes over you.

My spot since a kid,oakland baberuth Bbq's,visit or buy at another location once a month.I must keep it real somethings have definitely changed ?? It hurts to mention so you will have to experience it for yourself but take my word it was once the best in the bay/State. What happened??
