As a former employee of this establishment I can honestly say that I saw management on more then one occasion spit in the food of the white customers.

Veggie hand-pulled noodles is the best. Too bad they're closing for good.

Literally a hid away treasure. When strolling shatuck and just Berkeley in general Imperial Tea Court is always a great escape from the busy street. You've probably walked passed the entrance and didn't notice it. Stop. Look down the hall and follow your senses. The sound of a soft stream. The smells of the orient and the tastes that you will not regret. The staff is super nice. The menu is diverse and the food cooked fresh to order with great ingredients!

Stir fried garlic shrimp was delicious! Noticeable attention to detail. Staff came over regularly to check if we were doing ok :) overall great experience!

The dumplings were good, and the service was fantastic. Only complaint is that the grating in the table was gross. We especially enjoyed the organic greens, and green tea dumplings. Nice outdoor seating and kid friendly.

Love the vegie hand pulled noodles and amazing tea selection. Green onion pancake is mouth watering.

Service was good! Very attentive. However sadly the menu changed and the item name is the same. I ordered the tea house noodles expecting it to be the same as before. However this was a dry version. It was also infused in some strong star aniseed and had no spicy broth to the whole meal. The tea house noodle used to be in spicy broth and now it’s a dry version that’s not good. Disappointed for the changed recipe and taste. I loved the original version and ate that at least 20 times. Now I will not come back here because it’s not good anymore. Sad ?Adding the dry version I had today photo and the original version photo for comparison.

I've been a customer of Imperial Tea Court in Berkeley for over ten years and while I'm sure the rest of the menu is tasty, the ever enduring #1 special, extreme garlic hand pulled noodles with spicy pork, is my go-to dish! I sometimes order an appetizer of dim sum (either the steamed BBQ Pork buns or the dim sum sampler when with friends) and regularly add extra greens to my entree of noodles because they're so tasty. In addition to the excellent food, the tea available at the shop is superb. My favorite is the Imperial Jin Xuan Milk Oolong, with a close second place going to the Orchid Oolong. Once you find a favorite tea (the only hard part is choosing because all of the teas are exquisite), be sure to get some loose leaf to brew at home!(And no, before anyone asks, I've never been employed here - I am just a huge fan of theirs!)

Wonderful hand-pulled noodle dishes.

Ordered delivery from here last week. The food was "just okay." - It wasn't bad, but it was nothing spectacular.

The service was great and workers were attentive and nice. However the food wasn’t good. Their portions are pricey and very small. The dim sum was not good and their noodles were slightly cold like they had just been reheated.

I used to absolutely love this place. Frequent customer until today. Two vegetarian hand pulled noodles and a dimsum sampler came down to $60. I said hold up let me check this receipt and noticed they included a 20% tip charge in the total bill and the best part is they don't even bring the food to your table. I asked the cashier, if I could change the tip and they said no but I can add more tip (the audacity). Now the dim sampler made me even more upset, because it was $17 and it was 4 potstickers and 4 steam buns (vegetarian and bite size). That's roughly $2 a piece. It would be cheaper to order them separately for the cost per piece so I don't understand the logic behind that especially it being vegetarian. I love to support places that were impacted the most due to covid but it has to be a 2 way street for the customer and the business. The food is always good but for pricing like that, I would have higher expectations in quality, taste, portion size and customer service. I felt like I got robbed. To my fellow Yelpers, if you're in the mood for some good noodles or just Chinese food in general try Becky's Chinese Food on College Ave and order some good chow mein (tasty, big portions, reasonably priced and you won't be disappointed)

All the flavors seemed off. I had two meals delivered. I didn't like any of the flavors in the Dim Sum. It was expensive and I won't be finishing it or ordering again.

Poor quality. Tiny, inadequate shrimp dumpling. Slow. Shared outdoor space.
