Easily our favorite find since our daughter started school at UC Berkeley. The people there are so down to earth so kind. The food is amazing all the empenadas we have had are delicious. The Boba drinks there are so different than your run of the mill Boba

If kuboba doesn’t know they have my heart by now. They will after reading this review. Anyone in my community who loves empanadas and boba just as much as I do onto this spot. They have THE BEST TARO DRINK in all of Bay Area. Even better than my other fav boba which is hard to beat. The drinks are full of flavor and the boba toppings are never hard and stale and always taste fresh. Plus Kuboba’s loyalty point system is one of the most generous I’ve seen in the Bay. The pandan drink is yummy too and I love the home made pandan jelly. Not to mention their empanadas are literally the best I’ve ever had in my entire life. The empanadas are so soft and flaky and full of flavors. The cheese cheese burger, pizza and mango cheesecake are my favorites of course. This is the place to beat when it comes to customer service and good boba and good food. I wish the best to the kuboba team and family and look forward to your continued growth in the game. All of the rewards and good reviews are well earned. Yall truly have a special place in my heart. Long live kuboba.

Kuboba Spot is the spot for Filipino fusion drinks and baked goods in Berkeley! A Yelp event introduced me to this glorious local business that I couldn't be more than happy to support! The shop is a wonderful addition to Berkeley, away from the Cal boba shops. No WiFi but there are a few tables scattered inside and outside for customers to hang out or work at. Ordering is prompt with the option to order online, through the tablet, or in person. Being family-owned, every worker I've interacted with has been extremely friendly, helpful, and hardworking. I was craving boba and my sweet companion took us here for drinks. He loves taro and got the Taro with Fresh Ube Wall and House Boba while I, a mango lover, had the Mango with Fresh Mango Wall with Lychee Jelly. We both got our drinks with 25% sweetness and Oat Milk. I love that toppings are included in drink purchases as well as dairy alternatives. I will say that 25% is their baseline but is quite sweet. We both favored the mango as it was creamy and you could taste the sweet mango. I'm partial to their pandan but this is a great option. The Taro was stunning to look at and good with chewy boba but we felt like something was missing--it didn't go to waste though. You won't be disappointed with such friendly workers and delectable bites and sips at this family business. For Berkeley dwellers and fans of Filipino fusion cuisine, Kuboba Spot is a great option for a small bite. Located off of Telegraph Ave. there is metered parking out front but free residential parking in the neighborhood.

A yelp elite event brought me in the first time, but the food, drinks, and awesome owners keep me coming back! Their empanadas are delicious, it's more flaky than a traditional empanadas dough. I love the creativeness they brought to the flavors! Their drinks are also really good. I've tried the mango at 25% sweetness it was the perfect balance. My most recent visit I tried the Pina colada black tea at 25% sweetness. It was still a bit too sweet but very good! I brought two new friends with me and they ordered liked it so much they ordered more drinks and empanadas to bring home to their fam.

My fiancé and I tried 7 empanadas and they were all delicious! We tried the adobo, kaldereta, longanisa, embutido, curry, mango cheesecake, and young coconut (macapuno). I loved the kaldereta, longanisa, and adobo and my fiancé really loved the embutido. We both loved the young coconut and sad that it's only seasonal. All the fillings were so flavorful and authentic. A lot reminded me of how my mom would make adobo, kaldereta, etc. This place is definitely worth a visit! We'll be back for sure.

Definitely a boba and quick meal spot you can’t pass up. The boba is good, and not too sweet. Hidden gem. I hope it never closes; have a chance go, and get an empanada

The empanadas are fire, but the boba was a pass for me.Kuboba Spot has been on my list as they seem like a popular spot for boba lovers. Tucked in the busy streets of Telegraph, you'll be lucky if you get street parking. If you order online, you can snag temp parking (just flash your hazard's) to hop in and out. On a pouring rainy day, I was stoked for my chicken adobo and beef stew "kalderata" empanadas which came out SO warm and toasty. Crispy bite, with a steaming hot inside. Mm! The chicken adobo was THE ONE for me, so flavorful. And I couldn't wait to sneak a bite in the car, before I made it home. The lady working the register was so sweet, and offered me two of their dips which tasted like sweet n sour and chimichurri sauce. I got their popular buko pandan jelly with boba which is made with their homemade square-cut pandan jelly. IDK, the boba texture was more on the hard side, and the jelly I wish was thicker and chewier, as the jelly squares were a lil too tony to get a proper chew in. Regardless, Kuboba seems like a cute lil spot to get your fix of empanadas and filipino-flavored drinks. I loved the service and we love a BIPOC and local-owned biz. Empanadas are a must, I would skip the dranks.

Sweet spot for small snacks! I typically get the pandan latte with boba. I do wish it had a stronger flavor so I recommend asking for extra pandan flavor if you love it like I do! All of their empanadas taste amazing - I love the potato curry and the mango cheesecake. They're packed with flavors, filling, and for a great price. Service is always very friendly. Seating is limited since it's a smaller dining area but people are on the go so it's never been an issue. I've watched their business grow over the years and I'm happy to see them thrive!

Super cute joint with alot of great food choices! There are monthly switch outs of flavors with a couple being mango cheesecake, pepperoni pizza, cheeseburger, and spicy curry potatoes with peas, etc. There are is lots of love put into these dishes as well when they are made, which shows through the flavors and the time it takes to make it! The empanadas take a bit to make, but they have great drinks to supplement. Around $6.I usually get the Jasmine Milk Tea, which is a freebie after buying alot of empanadas and it's pretty good. On the sweeter side with chewy boba, but it is overall pretty good!Their taro swirl milk tea is also super good! I love how you can taste the blended taro pieces and it is a very pretty drink.

Food: my partner and I tried four of their empanadas; the adobo, kalderetta, spicy curry, and cheeseburger. His fav was adobo, but I personally thought it was okay. My fav was the kalderetta (beef stew). Cheeseburger is definitely tasty but a little on the greasy side. Spicy curry was all right, neither of us really cared for it. But all to say we each had different opinions on the empanadas so try them all! They were so warm and crispy. The pandan drink was so good. 25% sweet was perfect. If you like coconut you'll love this drink. As a Filipino I love visiting a spot with actual good Filipino eats (Filipino food critic as someone who cooks Filipino food a lot haha) so not too much fusion, authentic flavors, good prices. And the interior is super cute! They have a kubo you can sit on (little bamboo house), a coloring table for kids, merch, etc... minimal seating inside and outside but I will definitely be back here and recommending people here because there aren't really Filipino food spots in Berkeley!
