The owner is super sweet and the food is delicious! Great location, breakfast here is truly a dream.

It's been a while since I've been to a French restaurant, so Maison Bleue was definitely a great choice for me for a nice brunch! Although the restaurant is small and only has a few tables inside for people to sit at, they do have a good amount of seating outside so many people eat there when the weather's nice! The interior of the place is really nice, with cool decorations on the wall with unique lights dangling from the ceiling. They also have a nice booth that lets you see the chef making crepes, so that's good for taking pictures or videos on how the chefs make the dishes! The food itself is a bit pricey, but the quality of it is good! We got the De La Mer Omelette, the Nutella Crepe, and Hot Chocolate. The De La Mer Omelette was a decent portion size, and I'm glad that they gave a lot of lox since some other places will only give a couple pieces. The lox tasted pretty fresh and the omelette was made very well! The nutella crepe was plated well and had some nice whipped cream on the side, with a lot of chocolate drizzled on the top. I do think that the crepes here are some of the best in Berkeley, so it's definitely a place to check out if you like them! The hot chocolate was alright, since we thought they could've made it a bit sweeter. Overall, it's a really nice brunch place that is pretty aesthetic and has good food! I'll be back to try some of their other omelettes and dishes.

Lovely, quiet place to meet for coffee in downtown Berkeley. Next door to the main library, if you need a snack before or after.

C'est comme la-bas dis donc! Found this place while walking in Berkeley. Had the traditional "complete" with ham, cheese and a sunnyside up egg. Was delicious. Gets my seal of approval on Frenchness of the place. The usual crêperie. They even had small bottles of hard cider. Also had a dessert crepe. Did you know that salted and sweet crêpes don't share the same recipe. A salty crêpe - often called galette - uses dark farine de sarasin, while the sweet one uses an usual white flour.

I absolutely LOVE this place!! I used to live in the Library Gardens apartments right above this cafe and would pass by just to say hi everyday. The staff are super friendly, their food is REALLY good and they have special events for popular events like the Superbowl or some of their weekly special events/promotions. They're a great neighborhood cafe spot that actually enhances the experience of the surrounding community. They even gave us a 10% neighborhood discount just for living in the area. Also, my partner and I used to take care of an elderly woman with MS and even though her disability required a much higher level of assistance the staff at Maîson Bleue were always exceedingly gracious and patient with everything she needed. (If anyone that works there is reading this, Liz says hi!)

Can't hold a candle to the previous French eatery located in this spot, which was owned by the famous LaNote restaurant on Shattuck at Haste. I had high hopes. But sadly, the quiche crust had a granular consistency, and the filling was overly salty. I understand that this is made ahead of time, so they are going to heat it up. Clearly someone needs to keep a better eye on the reheating process so that it doesn't overcook. My partner got a dessert crêpe with marmalade filling. He said it was OK, not jumping up and down great. The people that work here are constantly in motion, really know their products and can answer questions. There's not a lot of space inside and if it's blustery you will not want to sit outside.

I had the breakfast galette and it was absolutely delicious. I was worried it would be too cheese but the balance of egg, onion, and gruyere was perfect. In hindsight I wish I'd added bacon but it was so good as in. Order at the counter; they bring the food out. The seating is a little weird and cramped. But I will definitely be back here to try some of the other crepes

I tried a savory and a sweet crepe and they were good solid crepes. The restaurant felt traditional with the menu items they offered. The prices were not bad and the service was good. I have nothing bad to say. I especially enjoyed the chicken pesto crepe because it felt healthy and light. I would come here again for a light breakfast with friends.

Since moving away from Berkeley there are few spots that I find myself missing consistently, Miason Bleue being one of them. I haven't tried many items off the menu and that's because after ordering the Complete crepe, it's all I want! The buckwheat crepe with ham, cheese, and a runny yolk is the prefect combo. A small side of mixed greens compliments it well too. The coffee drinks have always been tasty as well. This past visit I had a chai latte, which was made with a tea bag/steamed milk rather than the typical sugary liquid mix and milk. I like both but they're pretty different flavors so just a heads up. Once you walk in, you order/pay at the counter, grab a number, and take a seat inside or outside. It's light service which is perfect for a casual spot.

The breakfast crepe had great flavor thanks to the balance between the cheese, buckwheat, and onion. The bacon added some extra crispy texture and savory bacon flavor. I also had a double espresso which was served with a small glass of sparkling water on the side. I'd happily go back to try something else, or I may be just as likely to get this again!

Food is a little pricey but definitely good!

Deliciously perfect pastries, melt in your mouth chocolate almond croissant, tucked on a quiet street in Berkeley. Excellent espresso. Can't wait to come back. Lovely space to meet up with friends or work on a writing project.

Cute place for a quick breakfast! Went during brunch time on a weekend, and found it very busy, so it was a but difficult to find a table for four. It was a nice day, so we sat outside and shared the big wooden table with another group. I think the biggest downside was the service. The cashier was nice enough, but the guy bringing out the orders to the table was just always confused... (We ordered Group 1: crepe, omelette, Group 2: different crepe, different omelette) He started by bringing out an omelette, and couldn't tell us which number (we had two) it was for. After about 15 minutes, he brought out the two crepes and again, didn't know what was which, and took away the numbers promising to be back with an omelette. A bit later, by which time the first omelette was cold, he walks around the patio with an omelette and we had to wave him over since he had forgotten about us. The omelettes were okay, and the galettes were pretty tasty, a bit too much cheese. Nice bathroom. Self service water. Good atmosphere. Would I come back? If I'm in the mood for galettes, but I won't go out of my way.

Hours not ever consistent. Been living in Berkeley last 6 years and walked by this place going to work and school on countless occasions and never seen it open. Current hours posted 8AM-8PM Ffor Friday. I am here at 5:20 they are closed Really really wack.

Came here for an early lunch before a meeting. Arrived at 11:00am and order a Croque monsieur sandwich from a friendly young cashier. I waited 15 min without any food. When I can inside to inquire about my sandwich, the cook rudely said he was working on it. "Ok how long do you think" I asked. He looked around, located my sandwich sitting on a plate and rudely slid it across the counter toward me with a curt "here." He turned away. The sandwich was flat and boring and had hardly anything inside of it. The salad was nice and simple. Not worth the price for this dish. I won't be back.
