Great place for getting a snack or grabbing a bite for breakfast. They have all kinds of sweet and savory pastries, sandwiches, cakes, desserts and drinks. The price is great for students with an average budget around $6-$10 They do not have tables and seats for dining in but they have two counters by the windows if you don't mind eating standing up. Otherwise, this place caters for those who prefer to eat on the go The nice thing about this place is that even when there is a long line, it moves quickly. So if you see that it's packed, don't be dissuaded I got mini moon cakes from here for the Mid-Autumn Festival and they were good, dense but not too sweet.

Very nice service, the workers were extremely kind and friendly, the most reasonably priced place in Berkely. I got a ham and cheese egg bun, orange swirl cake, and small coffee for $7. I cannot stress how happy I am with this purchase and how much I recommend this place.

Awesome bakery!! They have a wide range of sweet and savory items all with affordable prices. Plus, they also have teas, boba, and coffee. One of my favorites to get is the taro bread, it's absolutely delicious. Definitely come here if you're in the area!

Sheng Kee has a variety of fresh pastries to choose from. My favorite are the egg tarts and custard buns. Come early in the day since a lot of items run out in the late afternoons! I recommend also getting their cakes for special occasions, especially the mango mousse one.

My favorite Taiwanese bakery for when I'm craving pineapple cake. Their packaging is so pretty too - it's perfect for gifting or for the holidays. Parking is always kinda tough on Telegraph but the store itself is clean and not crowded so I can usually get in and out under 10 minutes. Other favorites include the taro bread, almond cookies and their milk teas. 85 degrees has slightly better bakery items but Sheng Kee wins for the beverages. Wish they had a location closer to me.

Coming from VA & NYC area I think we get better puff stuff especially Northern Virgina. The custard had a lot of egg & the bean rolls where not moist enough chocolate tasted stale, had great selection

Sheng Kee has and continues to be my go-to Asian bakery in Berkeley. They have affordable and tasty deals (my favorite being their Hong Kong Egg & Ham sandwich) that always make for a quick breakfast/lunch. They have a card minimum, but you'll easily meet it with 2 pastries. They also make boba drinks with free toppings included and a solid discount if you buy 2 drinks (around $8 for you and a friend) Service is quick and simple. Vibes are pretty similar to other Asian bakeries (trays with parchment paper & tongs) and they're always consistent with their products. A pricey but convenient place to get moon cakes when it's that time of year
