This place is undoubtedly a new favorite of mine. I placed an order for 3 items that totaled to 20 bucks, and each one was delicious. I usually have a pretty big appetite and just happened to not have eaten all day, but even then I still couldn't finish all of it. it's not just fillers either, i ordered a chicken side and they filled the takeout box all the way up! The portions they gave me really should've costed me ~$30-40. absolutely love this place, i'll definitely be coming back!

Yummy food at decent price. Fun surprise to find an all vegan takeout place like this

Been wanting to check out this place for a while, and I'm glad I did! The store itself is a pretty small place in downtown Berkeley without much seating. I stopped by to grab some lunch to eat on the way to class. When I first got the pita, I was a bit confused by the box, but you take off the top part and eat the pita while the bottom is still in the box. It's actually quite nice and allows you to eat the pita without spilling things everywhere, and imo makes eating it so much more convenient! I got the pita with both chicken and falafel, and it was quite tasty with plenty of tahini, which I like. It was fairly large and filled me up for lunch for around $9! Overall good choice for a quick and affordable meal, would come again!

Food is very bland. Not much flavor. I don't understand the hype. Falafel balls look like tater tots. It's mediocre at best

I came a long time ago but somehow never reviewed it. This was during covid, so of course I got it to go. The falafel bowl was huge, and came with literally ~15(?) falafels for only around $10. They tasted great, along with the fresh veggies that came with the rice bowl. On top of that, the sauce that they put on top really wraps it all together! Would highly recommend.

The pickled beets were tasteless, the carrots woody, the dolmas came out of a can, the tomatoes and cucumbers were rubbery, the falafel was like sawdust. The vegan "chicken" was very strange. It didn't taste bad, but it had a spongy texture and also had little to no flavor. I have no idea how this restaurant gets the reviews it does.I think if you are vegan and you are looking for something inexpensive and relatively quick to eat, this restaurant is probably a fine option. But everyone else, not so much.I do have to say that the pita bread was very good; very fresh. The hot sauce wasn't spicy, but, unlike everything else, it did have flavor.

This spot is legit. First time here and the staff was hella friendly. I got a pita chick'n shawarma and fries. After looking at peoples reviews, next time I'm ordering a plate with a side of fries. The seasoning on their fries is soooo good. Omg. Tripping out. I just ate so much. This is a new regular spot.

This little hole-in-the-wall vegan falafel place did not disappoint. Their banner "Your balls are in good hands" got a great laugh and in Googling it we found it is entirely vegan and organic. I wanted to try all three proteins so I had the Triple Deluxe Plate with the beet salad, Mediterranean salad and cauliflower. The proteins were all impressive. I loved the crunchy Crispy Chick'n, the tender and savory Chick'n Shawarma and the perfectly spiced falafels. The hummus is delicious. Spectacular meal for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend.

Review Borne of Heartbreak Like any day, today was the perfect day for delicious and flavorful falafel and hummus, for a great heap of garlicky baba ganoush and ample sides of savory beets, cauliflower, tabouli, and fresh, warm pita--but Flying Falafel is closed today. *desert wind sadly blows* When you open tomorrow, we will be first in line.

2.5/5 Falafel-- The inside is dry and the outside isn't very crispy. 2/5 Pita sandwich-- I didn't try this but my friend said it was "hard to eat" and threw 1/3 of it away lol 3/5 Rice plate with vegan chicken shawarma-- The salads and rice is decent but not amazing. Not a fan of the vegan chicken

Absolutely bomb. Ordered the Bowl via UberEats and ate this massive piece of deliciousness in one sitting. Good balance of ingredients, no excess rice, well prepared falafel, nicely drizzled to top it off. Food came well packaged with utensils as well. I can't speak to the quality of service since this was delivery. Overall, highly recommend and was not disappointed by the quality and value.

Cleanliness was low; ingredients tasted off / old so I threw it away.

Not the most fancy seating or extravagant shop but is surely a hidden gem. Portions are quite big and works for a couple meals! I love ordering their flying falafel+fried chickn with a side of cauliflower and baba ghanoush. The pita bread is super soft and tasty as well. Also a plus that it's vegan!

Yummy food, great prices! We always try to stop by when we are in the area. We always get a couple of the falafel plates and a side of fries. Don't forget the hot sauce! Service is quick and friendly.

Cute little shop selling variety of Mediterranean food including falafel baklava, hummus, Greek dolmas and more. The falafel was moist, crisp, and flavorful, and the sauces that came with it were tasty.
