I love halal food! Decent meal here - chicken is meh but beef is pretty good. The first time we ordered they forgot the sauce rip. There's a guy one get one free deal on uber eats that you should definitely use but I prefer philly location's food quality more

I'd like to start out to say that I was excited when I found out there was a Halal guys in Berkeley - which is pretty close to where I live. First off I ordered "extra pita" with my family meal but didn't get it. Disappointed, I tried e-mailing corporate with no response whatsoever. Second, the couple slices of pita that came with the meal tasted borderline stale. The beef in my meal was tasty but super dry like warm beef jerky. I am SOO disappointed in this place. Do these guys even have quality control or customer support for their franchises? BLEAH! Avoid since there are so many other great mediterranean options within a few blocks of this place.

Perfect location when you're staying at the new Marriott Residence Inn. It is literally across the street. Two really friendly folks were working that night and were just full of laughs. I can't remember what the heck we were laughing at in a Halal Guys that late, but I do remember laughing. We got the standard Halal Guys combo plates, although my wife gets hers with only rice and no lettuce. We also got a side of fries, super crisp with a nice salty kick. All was really good and definitely works for a later evening meal.

This place is the Taco Bell of Halal, I'm sad to say. I really wanted to like it but I just couldn't. The salad was chopped iceberg lettuce and flavorless tomatoes, as if from a Subway sandwich shop. There was no tsatsiki or equivalent yogurt sauce but there were packets of "white sauce" which left it up to me whether to apply it to the salad or the kabab. The white sauce was flavorless and not fresh made but loaded with questionable ingredients. There were only 5 falafels in the platter and they weren't wonderful. Two stars instead of one because they promptly credited us for the fact that the baba ganoush we'd ordered wasn't included. I gather this place is a chain, so that must be why the fast food quality.

This was my first time trying out Halal Guys and it was a wonderful experience. Not a bad price for a regular platter, and the falafel was delicious. Good service and friendly staff as well!

Once you've had the white sauce, you'll be hooked. I had been here once before the pandemic and I now realize that similar foods I've had since have been searches in vain. Months later, My craving has been satisfied. I don't think that the chicken or falafel are anything special on their own but combine them into a pita sandwich with a good amount of white sauce and guaranteed good times. I'm so satisfied that I don't even need dessert. Also, worth mentioning, the hummus is good enough on its own to order a la carte (if having it to go, though, beware the oil sneaks out).

This place gives off the vibes of a big city deli shop in the absolute best way possible!! This mostly comes from the restaurant being located in somewhat in a nook in the building, making it someone more long than wide inside. Got the chicken plate- chicken, rice, tahini, lettuce, tomatoes. I really liked this combo; the lettuce and tomatoes made the dish feel quite refreshing and fresh. Chicken was also pleasantly flavorful; the rice was good, but I really wish I had a lot more of it portion wise. I truly appreciate the staff though. The person serving me was so very careful to ensure none of the components of the plate had my allergen, and was in constant communication to tell me what I would be able to have and not. They would try and find someone who would know the ingredients of a component, and they didn't make it seem like it was a hassle to them at all. It really felt that they were looking out after me in the same way that they would look after an allergen they themselves had. I really appreciated that and the transparency in that, as often times I find staff in some restaurants are extremely annoyed trying to find out if their dish has dairy in it or not.

I dont get why there are so many negative reviews. Great food and nice staff. Was hesitant when looking at the reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. (Ordered the combo platter)

My first time having halal guys was when this location first opened up. And i was in the area, and i have been craving for this so i had to grab a combo bowl to go. The portions are always enormous and the flavors are always on point! The white sauce just brings everything together. I love halal guys and wish i got the chance to try when i was in New York. But so glad they have many locations in the bay for my convenience now!
