Some people will consider it a point in their favor that the only person working in the front of the restaurant does not seem to speak English, but it led to a frustrating experience. First, I came in for the lunch 2 sushi rolls for a reduced price special, and he let me know that the veggie tempura roll is not included. Only the cheap rolls are, which makes it not worthwhile. But he seemed unsure and confused and pointed to a sign that was inside the restaurant and different from the one outside the restaurant. Fine. I ordered a vegetable tempura roll (specifically not included on the special and we confirmed the price), tamago, and inari, both confirmed that they were sushi, each 2 pieces. The tamago came out fine. Then came a tiny vegetable roll, not tempura. I pointed that out and he took it away. He came back with a nice looking large vegi tempura roll (see picture) but inside was only broccoli and gobo, not what the menu says is in the roll. It was basically a fried broccoli roll, a bit bitter. The inari never came. The guy in front disappeared and the place was empty. It was hard to track someone down to pay. Overall, not a happy experience.

Not sure what’s happening to this place, maybe new owner or management. Service is an absolute disaster. These guys have to idea how run the place. The sushi chef seems to be completely insane.

ordered via Postmates, and ingredients were lacking quality. Fish wasn’t fresh and you could taste the oil from the tempura on the crunchy roll.

Pretty good sushi all around but nothing special. The California tempura roll, spider roll, and Hollywood rolls were all tasty but nothing remarkable. The spicy tuna over crispy rice was probably the best thing we tried. We checked this place out because of the good deal that they had via Uber Eats -- overall I'm not mad that we tried it but I've had better sushi.

I'm sad and surprised to see this place has such low reviews! I found them on Uber eats and was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Is it the BEST? No. But the portions are good, the cuts are good, the fish isn't too fishy tasting, they don't overdo on the rice. I've ordered from here multiple times and had no issues!

Sushi is old, chewy and smells rotten. I wish I saw these yelp reviews before I ordered. They don't cut enough of the skin off their salmon but it really doesn't matter too much because the food is terrible either way.

This is the worst sushi I ever had. The tuna crispy rice is hard to chew and the color of the sashimi is just not right.Save your money don't order from here

Was in the mood for sushi and found this place from GrubHub. Was it the best? No. Was it good? Mostly!Ordered the Kiku Combo, salmon sushi, and hirame. The combo was pretty tasty - the salmon sushi was by far the tastiest. The hirame was sadly disappointing. Uni was ok, the albacore was not my favorite. Ultimately a decent spot.

Dropped into Asakuma on Robertson last night, a tiny hole in the wall sushi restaurant with little character and a few tables, mostly to go and delivery here. At the cashier's recommendation, I try the "Bora Bora Roll" off the "Chef's Specialty Rolls" section of a rather large and daunting menu. It's sweet shrimp wrapped in eel with avocado and such. For $16 it was tasty enough and well assembled, the eel was a little drier than I like, but it did the trick in a pinch after a movie.Something nice happened when I mentioned I was still hungry... As it was the young man behind the counter's last night working there, he treats me to a spicy tuna atop fried rice with jalapeño slivers on top. They are very good and I liked how the crispy rice is shaped like a small round muffin, cooked to be quite crispy and golden brown. The act alone is getting me to bump up the 3/5 star rating a point to being 4/5 stars. If you're looking for a solid pick-up place for sushi and you happen to live close by, this place is pretty good!

No frills sushi bar, we did takeout as the place is tiny. Fish was fresh and there's a lot of variety on the menu. We had the sashimi sampler and a few different nigiri options, would have preferred a little less rice with nigiri but the servings were generous and it's priced right. No review of service since it was takeout.

Cheap and convenient take out sushi. To truly enjoy this place you will need to try a few things and stick to what you like since not everything on the menu is good. Stay away from the imitation crab. Tuna (including crispy rice) and albacore are good. 3.5 that I will round up since I would order from them again.
