The soup is nice, you can feel the full flavor of bonito, umami, and kombu. It is actually very worth it, and the wagyu will not be too greasy.

This place does not deserve even a star. Stay away. Rude waiters and poor quality food for high prices.

Wow why doesn’t New York have any sukiyaki place even close to Ima’s quality?Sukiyaki is a form of cooking where thin sliced wagyu beef is cooked in a sweet soy sauce. It is SO good. It’s different from shabu shabu. There are so many shabu shabu places in Los Angeles, but this was the only sukiyaki place I was able to find.We had Ima’s sukiyaki set Chef’s Choice and we were SO full at the end. The beef was so high quality - definitely the highest quality I’ve had in the US. The beef is never frozen and it’s sliced beautifully. My husband and I eat Japanese wagyu often, but this wagyu was exquisite and we had to take a photo.Service was incredible. Our server cooked our food and served us. She explained each dish and we had great conversations. They changed the dipping egg after the first half.My only feedback would be to have more vegetables. I found there to actually be too much meat and I loved the vegetables so much. The dessert was matcha and ganache along with homemade ice cream. We got a great variety! You must come here at least once - and ask for the sukiyaki!!

It's the ideal place to impress! Atmosphere is very elegant and service is excellent. The food is by far the best shabu shabu and sukiyaki in town from the quality of the meats and vegetables to the extreme detail and focus on the sauces.

This place is insanely good. Better than most sukiyaki places in Tokyo. Yeah, you read that right. Don’t believe me? Go and try it for yourself.

A Fantastic Deli that I visited during my time in Beverly Hills! Delicious food and amazing service by Staff! Wish I could've eaten here more often! Next time for sure

If you like wagyu beef, you will LOVE this place One of the best sukiyaki around. The sauce was excellent in flavor and the beef was impeccable. Our server made sure to give us a taste of it grilled as well as in the soup.Traditional size doesn't sound like a lot of food, but don't over do it and go for Chef's special unless you are a big eater.

My favorite sukiyaki spot! IMA provides a consistent and refined sukiyaki experience, so I am always excited to come back. They serve quality meat from Japan with careful attention for all parts of the sukiyaki meal. The dipping egg sauce for the sukiyaki is slightly heated so it is thicker and carries the meat even better. Every bite of wagyu and rice at IMA was divine.

I absolutely loved this place! We scheduled a reservation, and stopped in an hour early to check in and use the restroom. Before we could head back out to walk Beverly Hills, they offered a table to us! Super accommodating and saved us a big hassle! The waitress was very fun and all of us loved having her serve our table! Thanks again Ima, we will be back! ?

This is a place to come on a very special occasion. You should know ahead of time that they specialize in cooking Wagyu beef at the table and that the specialties are delicious, but extremely salty, fat laden, and caloric. It is also pretty expensive at about $200 per person. There are some other options but it is not possible for part of the table to participate without having the rest join in. We really enjoyed the experience but chose this restaurant at more or less the last minute which wasn't ideal.

Stellar service in person. Over the phone the lady was incredibly rude and not even speaking English properly. Food was okay. I understand it flies from Japan and supposedly is fresh but that should not justify the exuberant price. At least if interior design looked more upscale it would be better ambience but impression of value. Not the case here. Definitely will not be back despite food being interesting.

Terrible!!!! What they serve is not Japanese food. Poor taste, cheap cuts of beef, too little quantity. I have a small stomach, but after eating a full course of $200 at Ima, I went to Lawry's and enjoyed real beef. This is the first day in my life that I have had two dinners.
