I have never written a bad review just because of a bad manager, until now. Jessica is the worst restaurant manager I've ever encountered in my life. Just mindblowingly rude.

Jessica is the absolutely rudest manager we’ve ever spoken to. The restaurant is extremely scammy and looking for cash grabs.

Maude gaves me an unforgettable Michelin star experience, delivering an exceptional culinary adventure through its tasting menu. The culinary experience curated here is nothing short of extraordinary, with each dish on the tasting menu showcasing the pinnacle of flavor and artistry. We’re very thankful to Francois, we were following his exceptional skill and dedication during the diner and it helped us to make this diner even more special.Additionally, the i tomate room on the upper floor adds another layer of excellence to the overall experience at Maude. The sophisticated and well-curated selection of beverages perfectly complements the culinary offerings. The bar staff's expertise and commitment to quality contribute to a seamless transition from the culinary masterpiece downstairs to the refined atmosphere above.A true 100% destination for those seeking an unforgettable gastronomic adventure.

After trying all one Michelin star restaurants, this is the best. Moreover, it is better than half of the Michelin two-star restaurants. Price is good for what the chef is given.

All dishes were visually striking and photo worthy. Some dishes were very unique in appearance and can only be found at Maude.

Can't say enough good things about our food and experience at Maude. We had a Chef's Counter experience and ordered the reserve wine pairing, non-alcoholic pairing, and special supplement truffle menu item. Every menu item was great but the Abalone and desserts stand out. On top of the food, our service was stellar. From our servers Ashley and Andrew to our sommelier Jessica to Dor and the other chefs, everyone we interacted with was awesome and their love of this restaurant was evident in the service. We've been to many other Michelin restaurants in the US and abroad and this was the best service we have experienced. We'd like to especially shout out the head Chef and the entire team for their incredible accommodation of my pregnant spouse and their special menu needs. Every facet of our service and meal at Maude was special and we genuinely hope to return one day soon.

Five stars aren't enough to capture the exquisite experience at Maude. The tasting menu was a culinary journey that tantalized the taste buds at every turn. The limited seating made the atmosphere feel incredibly intimate and special, as if we were part of an exclusive club. But what set Maude apart was the innovative touch of serving dessert in a completely different area. This not only reset our palate but also reignited our sense of excitement and adventure for the meal. From start to finish, dining at Maude was nothing short of magical. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a truly extraordinary dining experience.

This was the third or fourth time I've been here over the years. The service was great. I actually like getting up and going to the wine room to have after dinner drinks. Nice to have a change of scenery. We got a bottle of champagne and an after dinner port. The atmosphere is quiet and intimate. With the included 18% tip we spent around $800 for two. The food was fine but I wouldn't say I felt like I got a $400 Micheline Star tasting menu. There was no meat dish, but three or four deserts? It just wasn't at that level, and I've dined at many Micheline Star restaurants.

Visit Maude‘s for my birthday dinner, and from entering the restaurant everything was exquisite. The wait staff were Sublime. Their attention to detail and care for you as a customer was genuine and they showed excitement with every dish they brought you. We enjoyed local, paired wines from the California region and the wine maître de matched these perfectly. The food continuously comes out, however, it’s only small portions, but I think we counted 19 different items to try so you will leave very full . I have been wanting to come to this restaurant for a very long time, and it was on my bucket list for things to do, and so glad we made the journey

Couldn't believe I was able to make reservations since they only have seating for 24 people. Ambience very chic and I like that we are not sitting close to other parties. Music was a mix of 80's, 90's, and 00's which is good for me. Volume was slightly too loud but it was ok. Overall:Service - 5 starsFood - 4 starsPrice - 3 starsThere are some very nice touches:They give you a copy of their menu at the end of the night, along with a small take home tin of their butter biscuit cookiesDessert is served in their wine loft upstairs (which was a complete surprise to me). You actually have to exit the restaurant and then go upstairs and into what looks like an office. Very cozy and romantic. They even have blankets if it's too chilly (because they store the wine here)Now to the food:Amuse bouche - a little piece of watermelon with seasoning on a bed of ice4 starsSnacks - raspberry wasabi, eggplant bao, trout pai teeCan't really describe what they are but cool little treats 4 stars1st course - Santa Barbara spot prawns - prawn tartare with lacto-green strawberry, sun gold tomoto, and aguachile rojo. Comes with a cute lobster shaped cracker 4 stars2nd course - Abalone and RiceThinly slice abalone on a rice cake4 stars3rd course - Black cod with house made bread and cultured butter. 4 stars4th course - Nixta pasta with a cheese sauce on the sideLeast favorite if the night. Just didn't do it for me. The cheese overpowered the pasta and the pasta was kind of gummy. 2 stars5th course - Wolfe Ranch Quail Aged and lightly grilled5 starsI'd give it more stars if possible. It was the most delicious thing I've ever tasted. Quail was moist and juicy and had so much flavor. Looks underrated and the picture doesn't do it justice6th course - Shaft's Blue Cheese = cheese courseCrispy shell with cheese, macadamia nuts, and honey5 stars Not your typical cheese course. It was just enough tanginess and went so well with the nuts and honey. And that crispy shell was to die forDessert in the wine loft:1. Red Flame Grapes Very refreshing!5 stars2. Thai basil ice creamThe basil flavor really comes out5 stars3. Strawberries and creamIt was okay. 3 stars4. Mignardises: chocolate truffles, mini macarons, mini cream puffs They were all okay. Nice small sweet bites3 starsTake home tin with butter biscuitsCookies were buttery, crispy, and delicious. 5 starsI'd recommend as a once a life visit. The price is just too extravagant to enjoy more frequently. It's $250 a person before drinks, tax, tip, service charge.

Excellent in every way. Service, decor, food, wine service. All carefully and kindly executed. A memorable meal for sure!

TLDR; Pricey but very worthwhile, especially for a special occasion I've had Maude on my list since it opened, but haven't had an occasion to go. My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and it was definitely a lovely experience. From the start, the staff were super lovely. We went basically when they opened, so we were the first to sit. They had a little letter waiting that said happy anniversary, signed by all the staff. And every single staff member that came by said happy anniversary as well, which was a very nice personal touch. Ambiance is muted - intimate but not stuffy. Now for the food - 1. SnacksThe wasabi raspberry cracker threw me off a bit as I don't love wasabi, but it wasn't bad. The trout roe tart was delicious, with the creamy avocado and briny roe. Eggplant bao was yummy but not super remarkable in any way. 2. Squash and caviar This was beautiful to look at, and super refreshingly delicious as well. The grilled little gem is crunchy with a little roast-y taste. 3. Dungeness crab They were definitely generous with the crab, even though this dish was small overall. Tasted straight of the ocean and crab, not fussy. 4. Abalone and rice My favorite dish of the night. I'm Korean, so the deep complex dashi broth reminded me of my childhood. Rice was a nice crunchy texture with the abalone. 5. House made bread and butter Bread is my favorite food. Enough said. The butter it came with was super interesting - cultured for months so tasted almost cheesy. 6. Black codThe "mains" started to lose me a bit, but that may have been because I was getting full. I thought the cod was beautiful and cooked really well, but the sauce was a little too sharp for me and the leeks had a little funk I didn't love. But again, I think it was a personal preference as my boyfriend thought the dish was quite good.7. Nixta PastaPasta with huitlacoche? First for me. I thought it was quite earthy and good. It is more of a subtle taste, where I would notice if it wasn't there but I don't think I could pinpoint what it was if you didn't tell me. Tuile was beautiful but didn't add anything flavor wise. 8. Wolfe Ranch Quail Quail was cooked very well, I love that they ask you to use your fingers to pick up the wing and leg after to nibble at. A little simple for our tastes but well executed and had good flavor. 9. Blue cheese I liked this bunuelo, even if I don't love blue cheese on it's own. The wildflower honey offset it nicely. Desserts ~~ 10. Hibiscus Too sour for me. Boyfriend loved it. 11. Coleman Family Farms Thai Basil The basil ice cream definitely packed a punch and was super interesting. The dish had so many little pops of flavor that kept me going back for more. Maybe a smaller scoop of ice cream for better distribution of flavors? 12. McGrath Family Farm Strawberries My favorite dessert of the 3. The strawberries had a good balance of tart and sweet. The brick pastry was super crispy. Reminded me of a strawberry wafer or strawberry shortcake. Overall the bill came out to around 400 per person, after 2 bottles of wine as well. I would definitely recommend Maude to someone celebrating a special occasion as they definitely make you feel special. The service is impeccable which is to be expected at a michelin starred restaurant.

Sadly, the Maude of yesteryear is no more. When it opened, the restaurant was innovative and fresh. I remember thinking it served the best meal I had ever eaten. That was when there was a rotating menu dedicated to a different region every few months. I'm sure it was a ton of work for the staff, but the effort was richly rewarded. The current iteration of Maude is more like a poor man's French Laundry: The standard wine pairing features wine that are barely escaping the 7-11 chilled section. They've dropped the protein courses in favor of endless desserts and overly sweet wines. The staff and the vibe of the restaurant are still amazing and top notch; the menu not so much. This is not worth the $500 per person you will end up spending. Really sad to see this once great restaurant fall back to earth
