“Best karaoke bar in So Cal! Come for a beer and you'll be here until 2am... can't explain how it happens, but inevitably that's what happens. No regrets, just good times all around. It's a local dive with surprisingly good food and cheap drinks.. 13/10 would recommend“
“During our family trip to Big Bear, we stumbled upon Azteca Mexican Restaurant and were thoroughly impressed by not only the food but the exceptional service tailored especially for families. It's a gem that deserves every bit of praise. The menu itself is simple, but really good with lots of what seems to be hand made chips, tortilla's, and salsa, offering everything from sizzling fajitas to authentic relleno dishes. Our server, noticing our children's curiosity about the dishes, even brought out a small bean dip with cheese for them to try, which was a hit! What set Azteca apart was the staff's genuine effort to engage with us. One of the waiters flagged us down as we pulled into the parking lot, and made sure we didn't leave just because there was no parking. This attentiveness extended to their food preparation as well; they were happy to adjust spice levels and accommodate allergies, ensuring everyone at the table had a wonderful dining experience. In conclusion, Azteca Mexican Restaurant is a must-visit for families traveling to Big Bear. The combination of delicious, authentic Mexican food and the staff's attentiveness to families—especially those with young children—makes for an unforgettable dining experience. It's clear that Aztec isn't just about serving great food; it's about creating a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere where every member, no matter how small, feels special.“
“We went to another place with "Fire" in its name, and we found the service so unfriendly that we left. Then, we walked over to Barrel 33, and all was good in the world afterward. Dan, the bartender/cook/server, was super welcoming and friendly. The beer selection was top-notch, and the food was yummy. The vibe in Barrel 33 was very positive, and I look forward to hanging out there again. And hopefully, Dan will be working!“
“Moonridge Coffee was such an awesome find! I got the April Latte and Peanut butter toffee bar and they both were yummo! All I wanted to do was stay here all day, by the fire, reading a book! We will definitely be back! Shoutout to Christine the cutest barista! #supportlocal #moonridgecoffee #bigbear“
“We've eaten here many times over the last 7 years or so. We've tried a lot on their menu, we haven't been fans of any of the food besides their pizza and garlic parmesan fries, that's their specialty foods for sure! I love that they will make me a crust-less pizza in a pan. We come here every time we visit Big Bear. We love us some Saucy Mamas!“
“Best stop and sandwich in downtown Big Bear. The food is awesome and the folks that work here make you feel at home. It’s a cozy escape if you’re looking for quality food and quality comfort. Ditch the busy restaurants that serve mediocre food and come to this spot if you’re wanting food that is worthwhile!“
“We sat at the bar. Our bartender Victor was very busy fulfilling all the drinks for the restaurant and he still was very attentive and went above and beyond. Victor’s support staff was also on point, checking in on us regularly. On top of the great service the southwest salad, combo fajitas and Cadillac margaritas were amazing! Definitely coming back!!“
“I usually never feel the need to write reviews about places but this place is phenomenal the workers are so nice and considerate the owner came and talked to us about the story of the restaurant (honestly so inspiring). And as a celiac they do lettuce wrap and offer gluten free buns! I definitely recommend getting the jalapeño ranch and the fry sauce truly mind blowing. If you are in big bear this is a must try!“
“I love this place. Early morning breakfast in the village is peaceful and charming. We walked in, and there was only one other person. We grabbed a window seat and git to unwind. I had the coffee, which was great, and my daughter had the salmon and eggs. Which was also great.I highly recommend this place. But be warned. It's in downtown Big Bear. During the weekend, it's a high traffic/high tourist area. You may have to wait.“
“A hidden gem! Tucked away behind the Big Bear Elks Lodge is a little walk up window serving some big flavors! House smoked meats, charbroiled burgers, there’s something for everyone. One of the best kept secrets of the big bear valley. Service is pleasant, the atmosphere is a whole vintage vibe, and the prices are very fair considering the quality and care given.“
“I walked into the bakery this morning. The first thing that hit me was the tantalizing aroma of baked goods. The presentation and ambiance were very inviting and cozy. It took a few moments for the attendant to come out. She came across rather staccato. I ordered a piece of lemon-blueberry cheesecake. Presentation was great. Taste wise...it wasn't the worst...but it also wasn't the best.“
“Amazing vegan options. The plant power crepe was the perfect savory compliment to the sweet crepes. Great coffee too. On Sundays the wait was incredibly long. Wear layers and bring a buddy to chat with. Definitely worth the wait. Incredible service. We ate out for most meals during our 4 days in Big Bear, and this was our favorite restaurant. Hands down the best breakfast and great for allergies/food sensitivity“
“Dropped by around 7:30 on a Saturday night and was able to snag a couple of stools at the bar. Ordered a few delicious beers, as well as a couple cubano sandwiches and hot wings. The hot wings were pretty spicy (6/10) with quality (10/10). They were meaty and delicious! The fries were delish and the cubanos were decent and very meat-filled! My husband wished that they had a bigger variety of beers on tap, but several were sold out by the time we got here. (But that's our fault because we got here after the ski/snowboard crowd.)The live music was a huge plus. The Boswell Project rocked our requests! This place seems VERY family friendly, which was greatly appreciated by the patrons! We will be returning.“
“Excellent Sandwich & Bagel House. The freshly made homemade bread is absolutely amazing. I've lived in Big Bear for 9 years and just tried this place. I'm sorry I waited so long. The menu is excellent but it is on the pricey side however it's worth every penny. Two sandwiches which included a side of your choice and two fountain drinks plus tip was $46.00. They do take credit/debit. I can't wait to go back!“
“Wow! Such a wonderful addition to Big Bear! The food is absolutely delicious! We had the Sea Bass and the Chicken Jakobes, prime rib vegetable soup, crème brûlée and lemon cake. Such a nice experience. This old building has been very nicely remodeled. I loved the cozy atmosphere. I never leave Yelp Reviews but just had to for this outstanding restaurant. Very kind waitress, also. Thank you, Yesenia! Highly recommend.“
“10/10 donuts and 10/10 service, the donuts were DELICIOUS. The donut is so soft and it literally melts in your mouth. I have never had such kind service before, right when we walked in there were smiles everywhere and they were so sweet to us and were patient all the way! If you past by Bear Mountain stop by this donut place because its so good!“
“Amazing customer service. Great drink selections. And they're accommodating to Gluten Free customers. My wife and 2 boys are GF and they happily made substitutions for us. It doesn't always work out for my family with that, so that was extremely appreciated. P.s. we got the seared ahi sandwich and it was amazing wish I could've taken a picture before but it was so bomb“
“Went there last night for my husbands birthday dinner. We weren't very hungry because we had a pretty big lunch at Saucy Mama's. Service was excellent, atmosphere was so nice, no loud music and low lighting made it feel fancy. We got the Onion Straws, Steak Tacos, House Salad and Mango Margarita, all of it was really good. We will be back on our next Big Bear visit. Thanks Oakside for a great dinner experience.“
“Don't let the unassuming look fool you. This place is fantastic! Jasmin and Minerva provided great service. View of lake is nice. I think I found my new spot in Big Bear for Mexican food. Sorry Jacalito....we're on to better things!!“
“During the Great storm of 2024 atop big bear mtn. We fought hard and long for a place to rest our weary cold and hungry bodies. After minutes of fighting through snow, people and cars to find a parking spot, we look up. There it was... THE BONE YARD BAR AND GRILL. In all of its glory. Our lives were saved. The corn bread goes hard. Ngl.“
“I float in the air like a cartoon character smelling a pie when the savory scent of Fire Rock's food embraces my nostrils. Best burger I've ever had.. I've gone here twice now and it's heaven on earth. The servers are nice and the chefs make all the food perfectly. Dude the music is amazing and the place itself is like the perfect environment. Both times I've gotten the freak on a leash and genuinely if I were on death row and had to choose my last meal, I'd choose that. If I had to pick between narwhals going extinct or this place going out of business, let's just say that narwhal lovers won't be happy about my choice. I'd die for this place. The freak on a leash burger is like the mana from heaven from the Old Testament. The fries are seasoned just right like Goldilocks would approve and they're crisp but soft and the perfect size. The layering in the burger is perfect.. best amount of everything and the way it's stacked and the BUN!! Oh my goodness gracious great balls of fire! Literally like the best place ever. I'd eat here everyday if I could. You know what? I'd become Elon musk status rich just so I could give all my money to Fire Rock Burgers & Beer. In conclusion, I know I'd never love any burger more. - #1 fan“
“The food was huge - I only ate 3/4 of my meatball sub & I am a card-carrying member of the clean plate club! My daughter really liked her GF club sandwich - she only ate half of it (most GF bread is tiny - this was not).Dietary restrictions: They were well-versed in gluten-free options.“
“The manager here, Kailiann, was great. Although our food was extremely late, she was kind and understanding and provided excellent customer service. I'd say the beers are mostly average. The porter is one of their best, really good actually. The atmosphere is ok. But thank you Kailiann for making our experience here better.“
“Daniel was a great server! Even though it was super Sunday afternoon, he made sure everything was taken care of. We loved that there was gluten free options (try the bread!), and the bottomless mimosas are a great deal. A must come to when in Big Bear.“
“Service was amazing (they were hustling). We got the enchiladas, chicken taquitos, quesadillas, fajitas and the best chicken tortilla soup of my life (I'm from so cal so don't @ me, it's that good). Also the mango jalapeño margarita was delish!!! Highly recommend, I don't know what all these less than 5 star reviews are about- those people prob love chipotle or something.“
“Family style restaurant?. Omar the server for the night, was excellent. Was empty when I walked in and filled up by the time I left. Mind you Omar was a on top of it ? I had ½ a rack of ribs, with 2 side, mac & cheese and fried pickles, Delicious with a blond beer.“
“It's pretty good and the portions are great. Normally food is overpriced in this area but this one was great. For 2 plates Pad Thai & Pad Kee Mao (Thai drunken noodles) it was about $35 for two people and had leftovers too. I would go back next time I visit the area.I didn't take photos since I was starving but I will next time.“
“I love tropicali. The vibe is immaculate and the staff are so awesome. The Malibu bowl is a tofu bowl option and they always double check - "vegan or vegetarian" when ordering and if you want sweet spicy or a little of both. The coffee options are awesome too!“
