Best sausage I have ever tasted, the food is excellent. The only downside is pretzels without butter, in Germany, Butter-Brezel is a staple so I was surprised when they couldn't provide any butter at all.

As a German I know how Bratwurst should taste like. Unfortunately, the Bratwurst didn’t meet my expectations at all. I am pretty sure they are selling white sausage (Bavarian breakfast) as their Bratwurst. That means wrong sausage for that dish and wrong cooking (in a hot dog warmer). Tried to get a refund, was not possible. Wouldn’t recommend going here.

Best stop and sandwich in downtown Big Bear. The food is awesome and the folks that work here make you feel at home. It’s a cozy escape if you’re looking for quality food and quality comfort. Ditch the busy restaurants that serve mediocre food and come to this spot if you’re wanting food that is worthwhile!

We decided to try this place out when all the nearby eateries were packed. So glad we did! They have at least 6 different sausages you can pick from to have as a combo which comes with a deliciously soft pretzel bun, sauerkraut, and a side.We preferred the more flavorful Polish Kielbasa over the Veal Sausage. A friend enjoyed the Cheddar sausage though commentef cheese flavor was mild. They also have beers, dessert pies, bread loaves and other various European/German foods at the deli. They have limited tables and 2 long bar counters to sit at.For more SoCal travel tips,IG: @grace.loves.adventures

The ONLY authentic German and Austrian food on the mountain, and the best deli meats in So Cal. Staff is very friendly and they have a lot of imported goodies to take home. Highly recommend!

First time at Big Bear Lake, and Happy to find a German place. The food was generally good and authentic. Just the currywurst was not what I was used to in the old country. The applestrudel was delicious.

I was surprised to find a German restaurant in Big Bear, and a legit one! We came after a long hike and were absolutely famished. I shared a Reuben sandwich with potato soup and a currywurst sandwich with garden salad. The Reuben sandwich was thick with a wonderfully-crusted and toasted rye bread: the meat itself was flavorful, although a tad dry. The currywurst was the highlight, though: a beautiful, thin snap on the outside casing and a juicy inside: the curry flavor was mild, but just enough to add some flavor to it.I'd definitely recommend Old German Deli: the sausages are a must-get and the quality is spot-on. I enjoyed it!

Great meal and beer - would come back again for an early dinner. Best meal we had in Big Bear. Nice little place to purchase German items like muesli, mustards and sauerkraut.

Small Deli serving Delicious German Food. I must admit there's not much to the place but I think the food spoke for itself. We walked in about 30 mins before closing and ordered the sausage platter with currywurst sausage, I also switched out the pretzel bun that it usually comes with for a regular sausage loaf as I'm not a fan which was warm and lightly toasted. The sausage platter was served with warm sauerkraut, potato salad, a sliced pickle and mustard and 2 sausages which were all delicious. I also was in the mood for a boiled egg so they added a little boiled egg to my platter for a small fee. I would say that my only drawback would be that I preferred the sausage to be a little more roasted for myself maybe next time ill see if I can request that. I also tried the split peas soup that was very hearty and tasty for a cold day. They also have a small selection of German snacks, condiments and beers for purchase. I'll be adding old Germany deli to my must stops when Im in Big Bear.

It was ok to me. I didn't like the food. Water tasted like the metal cup.
