Food was great service was one of the best I have experienced, place was clean and very cozy. I have gone to this place 6 times since my first time, it's a must for me to stop and enjoy a good stake and eggs in our way back home once we are complaining back from California. Thanks to all the staff that works there for making an awesome job.

Michelle was my server and did a great job. She was friendly and served us promptly. The restaurant has a fabulous breakfast. The food is home made and you can tell by the looks and taste. I have rarely been served a breakfast like this. The portions are enormous so keep this in mind when ordering. My husband and myself will definitely return

The food was super fast and still tasted fresh and well seasoned. We had breakfast at a chain place a week later and were comparing it to Steaks and Cakes because they set the bar for us now. Service was friendly and attentive. We're really happy we stopped here and will again whenever we pass through town in the future!

We were venturing across the barren California meridian, the sun beating down on our weary brows, in the distance like a siren it beckoned to me, a wicked cry bellowing "STEAK n CAKES" My and my bedraggled travel companion stepped out of our vehicle, the stench of wet cigarette butts forcefully invaded our nostrils, with post haste we dashed into the diner covering our poor faces in fear we might catch some new strain of the bubonic plague. The establishment reeked, the stench from outside was more pleasant than the miasma that we found ourselves in. A coven of scaly aged wenches stared at us from across the room, one of them approached us, its blood shot eyes gazed into my very core, its yellowed cigarette stained teeth clattered in its gaping maw. Horrendous screeches ejaculated from this beasts mouth "Would you like a menu?" My partner and I were fearful for our very lives, darting out of that devilish establishment seemed better and better by the second. We took our seats, the faux leather sticky with reside from past victims, unknowable tales of misery had been experienced here many times before us, we were just next in line. The menu was razor thin, it gouged into my skin leaving gashes down to the bone, I peered over this accursed tome, leafing through the pages and deciding what hellish creation I would purchase. Our disgruntled she-hag returned to us, in a timely manner, and queried "What would you like?" I trembled at her words, sweat pouring down my brow and onto my hands, the menu slick with my excretions, the words welled out of my chest like a whale breaching the seas glassy surface "Patty melt, Please", my partner from across the table, with great bravado, spat a command unto this unholy beast taking out order with a grin "Chicken Strips please" and with that, the foul entity took our menus; coated in blood and dripping with sweat. Time was non finite as we waited for our gruel, insects buzzed around me, pecking at my eyes, taking voracious bites out of already bloodied flesh, the she-hag returned with drinks so foul not even swine would partake in their consumption. The water tasted of rust and sickness, the jagged ice ripped the roof of my mouth asunder, my palate forever scarred by these icy knives. We watched the befouled skies of Blythe, not a single bird was spotted, the streets ran dry and dust filled every crevice of my body. The food arrived just as I was passing from this existence to the next, little did I know, dying would be a better alternative than consuming the gruel that was placed before me. Tears of agony streamed down my dry face, the patty melt that I was promised looked as if it were made in a prison bathroom. The fries, oh so cold, reheated from the owners Del Taco lunch, I bit into their lukewarm exterior was greeted with a grimy icy interior, horrendous much like this establishment. My partner, much braver than I began to eat their meal, the chicken, oh the chicken, that poor beast that sacrificed its life to be disrespected postmortem in this manner. The potatoes resembled that of something from a cows behind, the consistency was much the same as cow pie, frigid bite after bite of this culinary disaster, I could see my partner wincing in pain. The greens, discolored and garish, the can they were extracted from must have been sealed when Blythe was settled. We choked down out slop bite by bite, each one worse than the last, the salad was unspeakable, chunks of meat from a beast not known were cube and scattered atop a bed of wilting greens. My partner, concluding their punishment went into the restrooms, the dusty patrons of that establishment beamed at them for daring to relieve themself, I did not have the moxie to enter that chasm myself, but the tales they told still bring me night terrors. We went to pay our penance to the daemons who entrapped us in this prison, the total was far too high for the psychological torment that we had endured over the last 45 minutes, and eternity was spent attempting to purchase our freedom. Then,

On the way the Dodger Spring training in Arizona and I had Yelped restaurants on the way. I read this one had liver and onions! It did not disappoint. Very moist and so much food. Delicious. Service was excellent and I inside is very small town cafe feel.

This is rundown old family restaurant in a poor town in the desert in CA !Food is barely okay. Our Sirloin Stake was badly overcooked over done even if we ordered medium rare.Vegetables were mushy and tasteless. This was not a busy time when we came in. Prices are high. Quality poor.Probably fair and safe to stop in the desert.
