Probably the best bang for your buck here at the Source. I myself am more of a fried chicken gal but I've had this bookmarked since it opened. Honestly, it did not disappoint. For $10- you get a heaping scoop of rice and a very flavorful bowl of braised chicken (with generous amounts of ginger and mushroom). Keep in mind there is only one item on the menu...you just get to choose the spice flavor. I ordered the Authentic bowl with Green tea (combo for $13). The sauce was a bit spicy after a while but remained edible. Not sure If I could go to spicy nor would I want to go to regular so I think this is the happiest median. It is a little salty but kind of what you expect for a soy/oil based braise. Overall a must try! For $10 I can't complain. PS) I'm glad I got to eat this dine-in. Not sure how it would be not on the hot skillet.

I think this is my newest favorite find. Delicious! I'll be back soon!! The portion also was large enough for two meals. I got the authentic and it was the perfect amount of spice. I wouldn't have wanted any more or less.

The food is delicious. It tastes like my mom's cooking and reminds me of home. My husband who is from Thailand did not like it though. We didn't get the spicy version so we could share with the baby so he said he would have preferred the spicy version. I pour the sauce over the rice and keep the rice separate so it's not that salty versus putting the rice into the yellow bowl.

This is literally a one dish restaurant. But it is a darn good dish. You pick the different spice levels but other than that it's a one dish shop. Although it was really good, I needed some vegetables!!! It does come with mushrooms but I need more. Can't they have a side of veggies as an option? I need something else besides rice with that saucy chicken. What we did was buy other dishes and sides from the restaurants nearby and share.

It's been awhile since I've given a bad review. We ordered regular, authentic x2 and spicy. We went in to order take out at around 4 pm on Saturday. It was empty. I wanted to like it since we've heard great things about it. But for a one menu item-- the expectations that it would be delicious is really high. Sadly, It was ridiculously salty. I had the spicy one. The saltiness was stuck in my mouth for hours. I felt like they miscalculated the ingredients because it was inedible for me. I tried my best to dilute the potency with rice but it wasn't happening. It was disappointing since we were taking a risk trying something new and brought out of town family to try it.

Yang's is at the bottom floor in a slightly hidden corner. They have a simple menu where they only serve braised chicken and rice at 3 different spice levels: regular, authentic and spicy. I ordered the authentic rice bowl combo with black tea and it was delicious! The authentic is supposed to have a kick, but I thought it was super spicy. It was spicy enough to make me sweat, but it was so good! The chicken was tender, the sauce and seasoning wasn't salty. I would definitely come back!

Very disappointed! There's not really a menu. only chicken with same sauce. Only difference is how spicy you like your dish. It is very salty. Not going back

This place is located in Buena Park at The Source shopping center. On the very first floor sits yang's braised chicken rice. I called in the order for pick and they said it would be ready in five minutes which was super fast.Let's talk about the food. For a to go order they give you plenty of rice and the portion of chicken is the right amount that I was full. The chicken has been braised in different spices and sauces. They use dark meat chicken which is not dry and bland. The meat is very tender. There is pieces of ginger and green onions in the fish too. There is three levels of spice, regular, authentic and spicy. My go to technique is scooping the rice into the chicken bowl which allows the rice to soak up the sauces into it.Overall I highly recommend this place if you want a really good chicken bowl.

This place really only has one dish! The one dish was okay. It was very gingery and I felt like it was overpriced for what you get.

I was really looking forward to trying Yang's as i'm a HUGE fan of braised chicken, but unfortunately they did not live up to the hype. For a place that only has braised chicken with rice on their menu, you'd think that they'd have it mastered. BUT Before I say more, I will consider that it could have just been an off day and that perhaps their sauce ingredients were just incorrectly measured. As other's have mentioned, they specialize in braised chicken that is marinated in a sweet, soy sauce with an option of having it with no spice, authentic style, or spicy. I prefer mine with a slight kick so I went with their authentic style. At first glance, my bowl looked amazing - juicy and full of flavor. However, the first bite was anything but. Despite the deep brown colors that were seeped into the chicken, every piece was as bland as the last. I went back into the store to ask for some more sauce, hoping maybe that would help, but the lady at the front seemed confused. When I repeated my request, she went to the back and came back out saying they didnt have any more - which didnt make any sense to me. But she then clarified saying they'd have to cook the sauce. Ok fine - I get that the sauce isn't readily available. So then I requested some soy sauce so that I could flavor it myself, but she said she didn't have any. I explained to her the food was bland and I needed SOMETHING to make it taste remotely better but she simply looked at me and said she couldn't do anything about it. This frustrated the hell out me and so I left empty handed not wanting to deal with it any further. Overall, let me make clear that the 1-star review stems from the restaurant's (lack of) response and their idgaf attitude and not their food. As much as I am criticizing the blandness, the chicken was cooked perfectly - tender and not at all dry.

For such a simple menu, they serve up the biggest flavor! WOW! I am so impressed with Yang's Braised Chicken Rice! I was looking for a place to order lunch and stumbled upon this restaurant. I checked photos and the menu and was surprised with the selection. Their name speaks for itself. Literally the menu is braised chicken and rice. 3 options: no spice, authentic style and spicy. They also offer options for boba which was a bonus for me (I LOVE boba). I ordered no spice for my mom, authentic spice for me and a boba milk tea for myself as well. We got the order delivered. The delivery came on time but there was some confusion with the driver. I asked for contactless drop off but it was my fault since I had forgotten to provide the gate code to the driver. The driver called to let me know he was outside. I opened the front door and was confused when I didn't find anyone. My mom walked out and saw he was waiting by our gate and went down to get the order. So we still got our food! The authentic spice was just the right level of spice for me. I like spice but not too much where I can't enjoy the meal anymore. The chicken was juicy and was so good eaten with the rice. The dish also contains mushrooms and sliced ginger with the hot pepper they used to spice it up. The boba portion was larger than I expected but just the right amount of sweetness. My mom is usually very picky and I wasn't sure if she would enjoy the food but she loved it! The non spicy version had everything else except for the chili. My mom loved the ginger in the dish! The portion size is good for 2 people. The meal lasted my mom and I through lunch and dinner. I am definitely returning to Yang's and bringing everyone else I know with me! Safely, with masks and socially distanced of course.

Me and my buddy was in the area, we were thinking grabbing a quick lunch and Yang's Braised Chicken Rice was our choice. I have been to other Yang's Braised Chicken and their quality control is really good. We ordered 2 Authentic bowl with boba milk tea and Jasmine green tea was our combo. We were eating outside with seating provided by next door Basilur Tea & Coffee, so I got my self a coffee. The braised chicken bowl was great and their drink is always good and not overly sweet. If you like Spicy their spicer version is really good also, but you have to pick out those dry papers. Over all very warm and tasty lunch!

I placed an order online through their website. It's simple enough considering the small menu. This might be due to Covid but it seems like they are severely understaffed to the point that even though I was the only person in the store and I can visibly see my order ready, I couldn't grab it for ten minutes since the only employee was working in the back. If it's possible I'd highly recommend that they place orders that have already been paid for online ready for pickup without the interaction of the staff if it's going to be difficult to have someone at the front at all times. The food itself was pretty flavorful but might be a little bit on the salty side. It's not really an issue when you incorporate all the rice into the dish. The portion size is appropriate for the price in that plaza. Hopefully they can streamline the online ordering to pickup protocol to both free up their worker and make the experience easier as a customer.

This place constantly delivers. They have great dishes for affordable pricing, there is no waiting time even when the place is packed.
