The Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show - Los Angeles, California Dinner Theater • $$$
Hilton Garden Inn Burbank Downtown, 401 S San Fernando Blvd, Burbank

“overall it was OK. decent food but small portions. we had 2 people at our table that ended up being actors which made it more exciting for us. The story and clues are a bit silly but that is part of the fun. In the end I would probably not go again but it was something my wife had never done and it was something new to do for a date night and an excuse to get dressed up a bit.Vegetarian options: typically a pasta dish with some seasonal veggies“

Lyric Hyperion Theater & Bar Coffee & Tea • $
2106 Hyperion Ave, Los Angeles - 6.02 miles

“The Lyric Hyperion is back! This small neighborhood gem of a coffee shop/ performance space on the corner of Lyric/Hyperion (thus the name) in the heart of storied Silver Lake has made a triumphant return. After many previous (and sometimes bizarre) proprietors (and a lot of bad coffee), I'm happy to report it's finally found it's groove with the new owners! In the past one never knew if they were open or closed. Now they have set, and reliable hours. From comedy acts, eclectic shows, kids improv, live music, and open mics, there's something for everyone here. If you're looking for a mid-day open mic, they've got it. If you're looking for late night comedy, they've got it. If you're looking for place to write or to enjoy a cup of joe with a friend, and a delicious pastry (or a beer or glass of wine) - they've got that, too. Seating is ample! You can hang out on their spacious patio, or inside the cafe and theatre (if a show is not going on). The employees are delightful. They provide a sort of "Cheers" vibe where they all remember your name. A few standouts: Sarafina runs a tip top ship! She's super organized and welcoming. She anticipates your every need before you can even ask (including fresh brewed coffee and remembering what kind of milk you put in your coffee). Mose, a movie buff, has a super chill vibe and is purveyor of great conversation. I could go on and on, but if you're looking for a unique spot that boasts a 90s coffee house vibe (complete with booze, entertainment, outlets, board games, books and free wifi), look no further than the good people at the Lyric Hyperion. Note: Ample, free street parking on Lyric and Griffith Park.“

Le Monde French •
465 N La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles - 8.58 miles

“What a great evening. I think my experience was a bit unique. Friday 6pm before Mother's Day. We got lucky to be the only reservation... ya the only people in the restaurant. Completely dark room with us in the center celebrating Mother's Day. I'm shocked they stayed open for us. They truly made it special for my wife. Our server was amazing and attentive, she went out of her way. Brought my wife chocolate, wrote her a Mother's Day card and guided us through it the experience. Food I would give 4 starts, it was flavorful and presentation was great but just a bit too over sauced for me personally.“

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Downtown Los Angeles Dinner Theater • $$
700 W 7th St Ste. U240, Los Angeles - 9.62 miles

“Super cool space. The Alamo is more than a theater. It’s a freaking cinema museum in there. Seats were comf, food was delish. Had a Shirley temple and had a fab time. Most importantly, the folks working there were so nice and welcoming. Yay!“
