So we have walked by this place a few times and we wanted to check it out. It is very much "fast food" looking and we sat next to an obnoxious young woman who thought it was appropriate to have her video chat during her meal with us sitting right next to her - so not exactly upscale. The food was decent but not exceptional and the experience was lacking any ambiance at all.

This has really gone down, waaaay down. Had a craving for a banh mi & went here today. Got a lemongrass chicken with pate and a chicken karaage curry with egg. Someone needs to tell them Japanese curry is not sauce witha mountain of dry curry powder slopped onto it. And the banh mi--if there was any chicken it, I'd needed a microscope. Not good at all, and the lack of pickled veggies, despite I ordered extra ... the baguette was fresh but that was about it. Never going back.

Usually get the banh mi sandwiches here that are very good with delicious bread and generous fillings. The price is more than usual for banh mi, but that’s the Ave for you. Strangely due to it being a Vietnamese cafe, they have a lot of Japanese curry dishes here as well.

Curry dish was excellent!Very satisfied for a lunch while shopping. Plastic fork supplied was of very poor quality. They need to provide sturdier utensils! But overall very pleased with lunch...

Yum! Great place for a quick and surprisingly affordable meal. You order on the self-serve register as there's no employees in the front of house, then the food comes out 5-10min later. The meats are slightly on the salty side so I wouldn't feel like eating this more than 1-2x a month but the dishes feel really healthy otherwise with a nice balance of meat : veggie : carb ratio. The kids LOVED the food. The drinks are on the sweet side and I didn't see an option for "less sweet" though there is an option for "less ice". There was plenty of room to eat indoors when we went for lunch on Sunday.Warning, no restrooms available inside!

I love spring rolls and thai tea, but these have to be the most bland tasting rolls I've ever had in my life. I didn't even know it was possible for a spring roll to have no flavor at all. As for the Thai tea, it has a horrible taste to it. Not creamy or delicious at all. The pork garlic noodle was overly salty.

my absolute favorite Vietnamese sandwich spot! I’m here almost every week sometimes more than once, so delicious and never misses!!

Solid Banh Mi sandwich. Order on a screen. Wait. A guy calls your name when it’s ready. Don’t expect any customer service. If you set your expectations, the place is solid.

Absolutely delicious!! I got the pork banh mi and the peach lemonade with lychee jelly. I will definitely be coming back ?

All you need to know is that whenever I come home to Burlingame, Cherimoya is my first stop right off the plane. The Banh Mi is of course the star, but the garlic noodles are not to be missed either.

Not the same. Banh Mi was dry. Not the same pork/ham combo. Bread totally different, very tough. Skimped on the pate too. My beef and garlic noodle bowl is gone. Replaced with a grilled lemongrass or non grilled chicken garlic noodle. It wasn't good at all. Grilled chicken was bland. Noodles were ok but definitely not the same. Either new cook or new owner. It's called Cafe cherimoya now. Sad. If you been to Cherimoya before set yourself up for disappointment. At this rate it'll close by end of year. At least Vietnamese coffee was good.

First off let me say the service is non existent. I placed my order on the iPad outside and it literally took them half an hour and me ringing the bell multiple times to get my drink and food. How are you going to stay in business when there are no customers in line and you're not even preparing the food or answering your Google doorbell? Okay let's talk about their lackluster curry bowl and horrible lemonade. Not a fan of either. The rice curry tastes like something that as mildly warmed up in the microwave with cheap curry aftertaste and the lemonade was just sugar water and didn't have a nice acidic balance. I would have been better getting lemonade from Trader Joe's. I'm not sure how this place stays in business when they're always closed and when they are open they just don't care.

Got the banh mi, garlic noodle, and lychee lemonade for lunch. Pretty decent meal, good portions but the bread was a little too hard and didn’t give enough meat and veggies in the banh mi.

I'd definitely come back, unfortunately it would not be my first choice. The bread was a bit difficult and there was no cucumber in my sandwich although the fillings are fresh and tasty, I can work with that! Next time I will try more of the menu, I've read the garlic noodles are something to try!
