You have your own area of dining separated by glass wall. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Manager Mei ( May ) particularly attentive we like her very much. Even it is a Japanese type BBQ restaurant the kitchen is separated on one side you won't get smelly after eating there. We went there twice just to make sure they are consistent. The only thing I may complain is just the parking sometime it's hard to find parking.

Happy Lunar New Year! Welcoming in the year of the Dragon. My friend Ralph spoke highly of the food he had at this location and since I've never been, so I was intrigued.Earlier last night, we came in fairly late thinking the establishment was opened until 2am. Despite coming in around 10:21pm and finding out they were only opened until 11pm... we were still welcomed in with open arms!In continuation of celebrating my 45th birthday and was hungry for the night, we weren't rushed and our server Shally took care of us for the night by introducing some of her favorite skewers.I ordered the following: Genmaicha Green Tea, Hana Lychee Sake, Butabara skewer (Pork belly) x1, Gyutan skewer (Beef tongue) x2, Momo skewer (chicken thigh) x1, Wagyu Beef skewer (sweet) x1, Unagi skewer (freshwater eel) x2 and last but not least their Tonkotsu Ramen!Their Tonkotsu Ramen was the best, it had a creamy, not salty broth with just the right amount of ramen to soup ratio, I highly recommend it! I was quite surprised at their quality and the price of $15 was absolutely worth it!

This is a very unique yakatori restaurant with good food and very attentive staff. However, they need to expand their wine list. It consists of only 8 wines with two costing $800 and one $140. The other 5 are either $45 or $50. We will return.

Was initially a bit concerned about the seating (must have missed that when booking) but luckily it's sunken, not sitting on the floor. Do recommend going earlier to take advantage of things like the black cod belly as they run out quickly. Very unique place to go, and a great way to order a number of things and share with everyone.

TLDR: really tasty food but the prices are a bit high, $55-$60 a person for food without alcoholWe had a lot of different skewers and some ramen. My favorite were the chicken heart and the beef tongue. But for about $6 per skewer, the price adds up quickly. Service was nice and super friendly, and I like the tables they have which are more traditional Japanese but it is so dark in there I almost hit my face into a glass wall when headed to the bathroom.

I ordered the Spicy Black Garlic Miso Ramen and it was very disappointing. There was one bite of noodles it was all bean sprouts. There was no black garlic or spicy oils added to it. I added all the salt in the table and it still had no taste. We ordered within 5 minutes of sitting and the table that sat 10-15 min after us got their appetizer and entrees before us and they ordered ramen too. I asked for chili oil to give taste to the ramen and they said they had none then 2 minutes later someone else brought some. Service was confusing and disappointing.

We arrived later in the day with no reservation and they were able to accommodate us. The staff was welcoming and kind and attentive the entire time with excellent attention to detail. Everything was cooked to perfection. It's a great place to try a bunch of different food items. Including exotic meats! Highly recommend the chicken with honey.Parking: There is a shared parking lot but it's really small

Our waitress was amazing & took the time to recommend items for us to try. The calamari & fries are delicious! The spicy beef ramen was exactly how she described it. PERFECTION! Everyone was so kind except for one woman towards the end. She asked me if I ordered enough food to eat. Which made me feel as if she was insulting me. I just said yes because I was thrown off. Im new to the Bay Area, so this was my first time here. At new restaurants I like to order a little bit of everything. My mother loves Mokutanya, so she didn't take it as an insult. Outside of her, we had a great evening, and the food here is truly delicious!

Lovely place to go to for bites and food. They have a nice selection of sake and Japanese beers too. The food is always delicious, and the service is nice. The interior design of the place feels cozy with their black and dimly lit lights. I would recommend 100%

If you're filling up on skewers it won't be cheap but it will be delicious. Also, the setting takes some folks back to thoughts of Japan (which they loved)

Always a fantastic experience. The food is wonderful, especially the wagyu beef skewers. We also love the salmon, the chicken thighs, and the pork belly. Also, the spicy beef ramen is next level. And don't miss the desserts, both fantastic. The service is attentive and impeccable.

Lovely spot for a date. The booths are within glass cubicles, so they're quiet without being too private. Food is excellent, my party caught them on exotic meat night and we got some alligator skewers that were a real treat.

The atmosphere is great and the food is delicious, perfect for a late night snack!

All the grilled food weee delicious! The onigiri was a little too crispy and didn't have much flavor for me, so would skip that next time. The ramen was ok too. But this isn't their specialty so it's quite all right with me.
