Why why why put the cream cheese on the side now? It really ruins the bagel experience -- if you want to control costs use a portion spoon or scoop. No longer on my list of places to stop.

I came here twice. The first time I didn't get anything because they ran out of the matcha red bean and ube bagel at 10:30 am. The cashier informed me about doing a mobile order ahead of time. The next day, I came back after making a mobile order and was so grateful to have known that this was possible. I came and picked up my order without a wait. The store is small without seating, so it is more like a buy to-go kind if store. I did not have any issues with that. I only wished there were more ube or matcha red bean bagels daily. This is the reason I did not give it a 5 star. However I believe the bagels were good and unique!

I used to love this place. Being from NY, it's really hard to find a decent bagel in the Bay Area. The bagels here used to be soooo good. Haven't been in about 3 months due to traveling, and came back this weekend to find the place has changed. Like some reviewers have said the cream cheese now comes on the side, and the bagels are not the same. I got the everything bagel with veggies cream cheese. The bagel was toasted to the point of burned, was thinner than normal, and it was completely tasteless. The cream cheese (that's now on the side) was also different tasting. I often wonder who makes these types of changes to a business that's already producing a good product? No one wants to put their own cream cheese in a bagel, that's like going to Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts. If cost is an issue I'd be happy to pay more, but the bagels themselves are now disgusting. I'm literally so disappointed that I no longer have this place. I won't be back.

I was a little reluctant to try these at first (the bright Rainbow colors were off-putting) but have been there three times now, and I really like their textures and flavors. My favorites so far are the premium Ube and Matcha Red Bean flavors (neither appears on their website) and the Sesame. Unlike most bagel places, the Sesame bagel has the white and black sesame seeds mixed into the dough (along with a touch of tahini) and not just sprinkled on top. The bagels have a slight crunch to the crust, and are satisfyingly chewy throughout. I have tried the Chocolate and the Churro, as well as the Jalapeño-Cheese flavor. All are good! And the customer service is excellent!

This place used to be incredible. I'd order bagels here multiple times a week. The bagels were delicious and I loved the atmosphere, they had chalk outside the store and a huge roll of butcher paper and markers inside for kids to draw while they waited for their bagels. This place USED TO feel like a part of the community. Unfortunately it's recently come under new ownership which has pretty much all but ruined the place. Boring interior (that's been half done for 6 months), they raised the prices but the bagels are always flat and burnt now, and they got rid of a bunch of the good bagel and cream cheese flavors they also put up a notice that they'd be skimping on the cream cheese (I'm not kidding). The only star is for the girl that is always at the front because she's always friendly and probably the last good thing about this place.

The LAZY bagel bar. Walked by at 8 am and saw 2 people inside so I thought let’s give this place a try. At that point I was alone and I ordered two bagels with avocado to go. I saw the two pieces of bagel lay down and waiting for some attention for over 15 minutes, at that point I asked to cancel my order and just pay for the plain bagels as they were already cut. The cashier seemed annoyed and said she doesn’t know how to refund, so I waited some more since I paid $22 for this delight. I ended up waiting 20 minutes to get 2 bagels with avocado, and it doesn’t even look appetizing. First and last time.

The bagels were decent, we got a couple types to try. I really enjoyed the ube bagel! I didn't feel like there was much ambiance worth writing about, it's a small shop and you basically get your food to go. The service left a lot to be desired which is primarily why I rated lower. We didn't feel like anyone was attempting to connect with us in any meaningful way. We were not welcomed or really even acknowledged by any of the staff. It felt like we were a burden on them to date to make them speak to people and have human interaction since we hadn't preordered our food and only need to pickup. Despite really likely the ube bagel which I'm sure I'll not see anywhere else, I don't think I'd go back to this place due to the poor service. It's unfortunate since it's so close to me house. I will also say the prices were a bit beyond what I felt the food was worth especially coupling that with the poor service.

For being a bagel shop, they really should employee morning people... The woman who served us seemed like she did not want to be there. I had high hopes because I thought this place looked cute, but it was pretty mid. Maybe they need some time to get set up though, because they look like a fairly new business.

We’ve tried this spot twice and were disappointed both times. Unfortunately, their bagels are just not right. They looked too thin sitting in the bakery case, but biting into them was even worse. The structure completely collapses back into dough, so it eats like you only have the tough crust. They were generous with the egg, but it looked and tasted like they were reheated from frozen or premade in some other way. These sandwiches were over $12 each, so I expected better quality.I didn’t have a good experience with the service either. I was the only customer in the building and they got our order wrong. I would’ve went home with a sandwich I couldn’t eat (I ordered no bacon because I’m vegetarian) had I not been watching them make it. They were rather unapologetic when I pointed this out and hesitant to make it right.

30 minute wait just to slice and toast a bagel (cream cheese was on the side). Bagel was cold

Food is good however always order ahead to pick up because you would need to wait up to 40 mins for it which makes 0 sense. Last two times we waited for such a long time for our order.

Unfortunately, bagels become flat and deflated as soon as you spread them with cream cheese. Outside is so tough that my 2yo son could not bite into them. I don’t get bagels often and was disappointed to splurge here.Vegetarian options: Like the fact they have 2 dairy free spread options

Their pre ordering / catering is phenomenal. And the service was superb. The food was amazing. I recommend to anyone who doesn’t mind carbs in their diet.

This was a pretty big disappointment to be honest. My husband and I went to Bagel Bar on a Sunday morning and ordered one bagel each (mine was gluten free due to allergy). It was moderately busy, but nothing to write home about. The two bagels took 35 minutes to complete. While the catch phrase on their chalkboard menu emphasizes that they'll spend time to make a quality bagel, the amount of time it took seemed a bit excessive. When we cracked those bad boys open, we thought we were in for a transcendent bagel experience. Nope. Not even close. The bagels were mild in flavor as was the spread. The gluten free bagel was basically the eraser they probably use for the chalkboard menu. It was biscuit-like, but very dense and lacked any flavor. The French onion bagel my husband ordered apparently wasn't much better.Unfortunately, service was another let down. Even with four or five people working the small shop, they struggled to keep up with orders and we're obviously disorganized.Overall, this bagel shop is pretty overrated. If you want a quality bagel in San Jose, try House of Bagels in downtown or even Noah's.
