Terrible service Absolute slowest no sense of emergency employees making sandwiches. I was the only one there who was ordering. I waited 15 minutes for a sandwich. Waste of time waste of money. I was told they made a good sandwich. I guess I will never know. Instead, I went across the street to the Italian sandwich deli and got my sandwiches in five minutes. I will make sure we don't recommend or send people from our hotel to this Michelin tailcoat shack. By the way, my review was removed because they said I was rude in my review so, I will keep posting, (I paid $18+ for a sandwich I did not get) Very big disappointment. Sam

I really like this bread and bakery. It is very tasty and also healthy. It is not overly sweet but just sweet enough.

Love the coffee & pastries from Manresa! I've visited several times and always enjoy my order. I do have to take a star off because it's consistently dirty (floors, tables, etc). I totally get that they are busy but I'd love to see this cafe a little cleaner

We ordered breakfast on the app to-go. Both the sausage egg sandwich and bacon egg Sammie were ok--3.5 stars. The sausage patty had a lot of flavor. The egg was overcooked and barely edible. Bacon was a little undercooked for my taste, but I like my bacon crispy, just short of burnt. The bread was flakey, buttery and very messy in the car! Can't order w/o onion jam on sausage Sammie but can customize on bacon Sammie--very odd. Just scraped it off. I'd come back to purchase breads: 5-stars for croissant/bread. But skip the meh/3-stars food.

I've been here a couple of times, but sadly the pastries were always sold out. This particular time I was able to go they still had some gluten-free items as well as some delicious cookies and some instant coffee to brew at home! I love that Santa Cruz brand, Verve, and for $20 I was able to get a combo pack of seven instant coffees! When I first arrived, the gentleman at the counter was very friendly and polite, I told him I wasn't ready to order and he said I could "take my time I'll be here all day." Hee As I looked around, there were a handful of people hanging out enjoying cups of coffee, along with sandwiches and salads. Everything was neutral colors and looked really relaxing. They had some nice jazz music playing in the background and there were a couple people working on their laptops. Looks like a great place to hang out and get some work done or even have a cup of coffee with friends. Hee Since I have a sensitive stomach to dark roast, I didn't want to get a latte or drip coffee since I'm not too sure how rough or strong there medium roast is. Instead, I got some take-home coffee, as well as blueberry muffin and these delicious shortbread espresso cookies in the canister For $15. But a bit overly priced. Then again, everything is overpriced nowadays, so whatever! Service and I will be back.

Second time this month the cappuccino is filled 2/3. I guess they are sizing down. I'd rather pay .50 more for the previous size :(

I had a croissant, one of the plain ones. It was very good, big and flaky and tender inside with a nice thin crisp shell. Good buttery flavor overall. The staff were pretty good, I am not sure we were standing in the right place to order, but they took our order fine. The display case (not the place they serve you from, just the display of food available, this is an important note) had a few little bugs flying around, which was a little unsettling. They do not serve the food that is on display though, the actual food came from a protected bakery rack. Still, it was a tad pricey for there to be a bug problem. Partner had a kouign-amann and a short drip coffee. He said the kouign-amann was EXCELLENT, but the coffee wasn't great. Not awful, but he normally takes it black and had to put two creams and two sugars in it to make it drinkable. We'll probably try it again, at some point. We are down there a lot and the pastry was very good.

Most of the pastries I've had here are very good. But the Kouign Amann is one of the best in Bay Area and my personal recommendation. The people working there are often busy so don't expect small talk but they are very professional and nice in my experience. If you're going on the weekend, especially during a farmers market, be prepared for it to be packed.

I wasn't impressed. I've heard the hype but it didn't live up. Never been so I My friend and I looked at the menu by the cashier. Not much to decide but nothing really called me. We told the cashier we have never been here- and he quietly walked away. No one was in line so at least maybe someone could have recommended something. I got the ham cheese croissant and chai late. Chai was bland. Tasted like warm milk. Ham and cheese croissant was ok. My friend got a sandwich - she didn't comment so I assume it wasn't impressive. No reason to go back. Later I saw the quiche and wish I had ordered a Piece. Oh well. Campbell has lots of choices for food so sorry manresa.

It's always a great treat to visit this store, the best items are the seasonal ones- I love the tapioca bowl so much, I've never had anything like it before. And! It's always clean, including the bathroom.

Came here recently and was a bit underwhelmed - the usual bruch/bfast goodies were no longer available and it made meeeeee veryyy SAD. No more bomb potatoes and or bfast/protein bowls when we went - so we ended opting for a bfast sandwich, avocado toast, and salmon toast, in addition to a matcha latte. The bfast sandwich was good - nice crisp biscuit with lots of cheese and sort of a sweet like sausage patty - I'm ok with the sausage being sweet but the hubby did not like it one bit. The toasts were both OK - avocado was standard with a buttload of cilantro but nothing particularly stood out here - then the salmon had too much vinaigrette and was way too tart overall, didn't end up finishing this one. Iced matcha latte was still tasty - just a tad bittttttttt too much milk where the Matcha flavor came through very light - BUT still drank it all though (LOL)

This is review is about service from one person there, and from reading other peoples' review about their pretentious attitude, my experience today confirms it. Worker there he's tall, has blond/reddish hair with goatee/mustache was rude, no greeting whatsoever. Gave attitude right off the bat, while mockingly questioning my order. To top it off made a smug comment when handing me my togo order. Disorganized flow, pricey and automatic 4% service charge for discourteous service. Unfortunate how one employee can ruin people's first time there.

A super busy bakery in downtown San Jose. The line was long, limited seating. The waiters were obviously used to the crowd. They were fast & efficient. Ordered the veggie quiche, fam & cheese sandwich & delicious signature buttery roll ( French name I think). Everything was very good. The roll was delicious! A great coffee station! Well worth the wait. We were fortunate to get a table. There was no other seating available. That is the only negative. Probably not a bad problem from owners viewpoint! Thinking about that roll now!!

I'm from San Diego, but my cousin referred me here and I'm SO glad he did! Loved the coffee - I got the monkey bread iced latte and asked for the lowest sweetness that they could do. Many times when I ask this at cafes, the drink is still too sweet for me but here, it was done perfectly! Two days in a row! Their chocolate soufflé thing... it's $12, but it's worth every single penny. Wow so so delish! Definitely will be back next time I'm in San Jose!
