Update 2023: After being in many different places with my teenage Nieces, Rock Bottom has become their go-to. They have some healthy choices and the service has been constantly friendly. I appreciate having Rock Bottom as a culinary option.2022 The only thing that sets this place apart from other gastropubs is the beer, and the beer is pretty good. Service can be off, and a little bland. But if you just want American food and some suds to wash it down before seeing a movie...this place will do fine.

The service is pretty bad, rock bottom, even for a sports bar. Our waitress was in her own universe, we were 5 people and she kept putting the drinks and food in one corner of the table saying she cannot reach.Our pretzels cheese dip had some hair in it, she was like, “hmm let me see” and seemed more bothered we bothered her.One of the guys wanted to try a different beer and she tried the discourage him saying it tasted the same as the one he had before.At about 9 she said she is leaving and we need to pay but someone else was going to take over and we could open another tab.We were completely abandoned, service wise, nobody came and after about an hour we just left.The place is open until 12 am…

Update: I will never go here again if I can help it. Our family had been going to RB for years but the last two times were horrible experiences. Last time it took us over an hour to get our food. Idk how you do this but the food was comped so I didn't update my review. Just now we were seated outside and no one came for 10 minutes so we left. The WORST SERVICE. Original review: Good food, but service has gone downhill. We had to wait a long time for food the last 3 visits. Otherwise the beer is decent and good selection of food.

Not a review yet!!! Ratings on high hopes but to be updated!!I'm planning on going here in the next week or two with a friend of mine who lives right down the street but I'm a little worried. After reading dozens and dozens of reviews in several sites ,what I'm gathering is is that a couple years ago this place was fantastic but the service and the quality of the food has definitely changed probably due to wanting to squeeze out more profits. Trust me when I tell you I will do a thorough and honest review of the Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery after I have dined and hopefully enjoyed food and drink. Growing up in the restaurant business and being involved in it for over 40 years in different aspects I hope to give a thorough and honest review.

Great place to watch 49er games with plenty of tables! Met 2 buddies for some beer and snacks last Sunday. Had the Cheeseburger Sliders w French fries and a Margarita Pizza. I chased the food w the IPA they have on tab.

Have been there alone on a Tuesday evening. Got a seat very quickly w/o reservation.Scenery is a typical amazing Sports Bar Style.The beers were brilliant and the burger a dream!Hope to come back to San Jose soon

Used to love this place but it’s really gone downhill. Food quality isn’t great. We gave it a shot this weekend and placed a to-go order, but they gave us chicken tenders instead of wings and forgot a side order of Mac and cheese. Didn’t notice until we were home, so we wasted our money. Check your to-go orders!
The beer is exceptional here. Apologies to other breweries in the Bay Area, but Rock Bottom has the best beer—it's truly amazing. Always excellent service and decent food. The newly updated menu features firecracker shrimps, which are a jackpot!PT’s Pale Ale is perfect starter beer and then continue with Pruneyard IPA. You won’t be disappointed.

I was in town for a business trip- came in for a quick early dinner. I had the fried chicken sandwich and the mango habanero beer- it was perfect- service was quick and the food was hot and delicious.

We stopped by Rock Bottom after catching Collie preform stand-up at The Pruneyard Cinemas. The food was good in a pinch, especially after a night of drinking. Now that I am sober... did I really hit rock bottom... the pizza was ok and the nachos were mediocre.

Well the carrot cake is pretty notable and that's about it.Food came overcooked. Was sent back. Food came back, different cut also overcook and the sides were now missing.The waiter just shrugged and said sorry and that was the last we saw of him for the night. Another waiter dropped off the check and they tried to charge me twice for the food THEY burned to a crisp.The drinks from the bar taste of rubbing alcohol
