It's pretty good in the pineapple . The shrimp was a nice size and the sauce is pretty good . The pineapple are good. The only catch is it could be a little messy . Make sure you don't wear white .

Worth the visit! Food was a mix between creamy, spicy, and refreshing! There's plenty of seating options in the food court!

Topanga Social Edition: Review of Shrimp Daddy My goal is to try All 27 of the original Topanga Social Eateries and share my experience with you! _____________________________ Shrimp Daddy (experienced on February 12th 2024) I am giving Shrimp Daddy 3 stars for the sole reason in that it just wasn't for me. Please note that the service and the experience were fine, I just personally wasn't in love with what I ate. With that being said, I am not hear to discourage you, in fact, I challenge you to prove me wrong and give this place your business! What I didn't personally Love, You may Actually fall in Love with... So I say, come get your Shrimp Daddy on! _________________________________ For those of you that do not know what the Topanga Social, this is directly from the Topanga Social website: (I Copy and pasted) "LA'S NEWEST COVETED FOOD LOVERS' DESTINATION" "27 of Los Angeles' most talked about restaurants and niche food brands come together in the West Valley. The adventurous new food hall, Topanga Social, opened its doors in May, bringing together some of the most buzz-worthy Los Angeles eateries, bars, and recognized names in LA's culinary space, all within the new dining, entertainment, and luxury retail district at Westfield Topanga in the San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles has proven to be one of the most inspired, entrepreneurial, and diverse food cities in the world, and Topanga Social stands as a one-stop microcosm of its most celebrated offerings." And if you haven't been here yet, I say come check it out. _____________________________________ So, Lets Talk Shrimp! Since I am on a mission to try all 27 of the original T.S. eateries, it was time I gave Shrimp Daddy a go! First look: The menu is simple and I MEAN SIMPLE! 2 Entrees to choose from and 1 Side... That's it, and That's all! Hey in my book, simple is a Good thing! I say, Perfect what you are good at and focus on it! But, just because I like simple, doesn't mean "my Daddy" raised a fool. Check this out... Remember when I said Shrimp Daddy only had 2 entrees to choose from? Well one of them is $16 bucks (for the Shrimp Plate) and the other is $23 bucks (for the Shrimp Boat) To my non Math whizzes.. that's a SEVEN dollar difference. Here's what comes in the $16 Shrimp Plate: -7 Garlic Butter Shrimp -2 scoops of white rice with Furikake -1 scoop of LI Hing pineapple chunks -1 scoop of Hawaiian Mac Salad -1 lemon wedge (Served on a paper try plate) Want to know what comes in the $23 Shrimp Boat? -7 Garlic Butter Shrimp -2 scoops of white rice with Furikake -1 scoop of LI Hing pineapple chunks -1 scoop of Hawaiian Mac Salad -1 lemon wedge (Served inside a carved out pineapple) Notice how the ingredients and the serving sizes are completely identical? With the exception of having to pay 7 bucks more for half a pineapple carved into a bowl... I'm just not buying it, literally. I mean, I am all about the presentation and the plating of the dishes I'm about to devour, but seven bucks for a pineapple made into a bowl?? That's unnecessary and kinda a rip off to the customers who are paying more for essentially the same exact entree. Breaking it down: I was surprised to see 7 shrimp. Not only do they not skimp on the quantity of shrimp, but they were decent sized shrimp as well. The white rice was, well, white rice (I opted out on the Furikake). The pineapple was solid and complimented the dish. The Mac Salad was not my jam, and I'm bummed, because I love a good mac salad. Over all, the dish was just whatever. So whatever, that I didn't even finish my whole plate, and my fat a$$ always finishes my plate. So there it is. There you have it. Take it or leave it. I am Truly hoping that you love what I didn't. I wish Shrimp Daddy nothing, but success here at the Topanga Social dining hall.

This location is at Topanga Social in the mall. The ambiance is nice when it's not too crowded. There's plenty of seating indoors and outside. I ordered a shrimp plate that comes with macaroni salad, rice, pineapples, and fried shrimp. It was pretty tasty- the sauce was really good and perfect for dipping. There are so many vendor options that I forget this is a solid spot to order from. I'll definitely order again when I'm in the mood for fried shrimp.

The shrimp was horrible! Was undercooked and did not taste good. Maybe I came on a bad day? It's expensive as well so I left feeling let down. I will say this... on the flip side of things, the rice and sauce was delicious. Also the pineapple was probably the best I ever had, ever! I'll probably give it one more try since I love shrimp. I hope it's better second time around! Service was meh since everything is done at the annoying kiosk. Ambiance here at the Topanga Social is pretty cool and has a relaxed vibe. Clean and bright...

Been wanting to try Shrimp Daddy since I've first heard of it at Smorgasburg in DTLA so I was thrilled to find out its in Topanga Social as well. I ended up picking up their Garlic Butter Shrimp plate for $15. This is probably the best bang for your buck at Topanga Social. The plate comes with 7 fried shrimp pieces, 2 scoops of rice, mac salad, and li-hing coated pineapple chunks. The plate itself was very nicely presented. The food was pretty average. The shrimp had a nice batter outside, but the shrimp was a little undercooked for some of the pieces. I had the Shrimp Daddy sauce on the side but it was a little too sweet for my taste. The rice was very dry but it was needed to balance the taste of the shrimp. As for the Mac salad, it was packed with lots of mayo flavor. The li-hing coated pineapples were a very nice surprise. I really enjoyed it as a little snack. Overall very average experience with Shrimp Daddy. I had high hopes considering how long I've wanted to try out their food. Nonetheless, still impressed with their presentation and the quantity of food they give out for the price!

It was so disappointing. The shrimp was dry, the rice was dry, the sauce was bland, the macaroni salad was just not it. The only think I liked was the pineapple with Li Hing powder. Do not recommend Service was super friendly tho. Gotta give them that.

it was just alright…hoping for a more hawaiian taste and unfortunately this was not it. not a fan of the shredded carrots in the mac salad either.

Came here for lunch the staff they had was not helpful but think it was a language barrier. When I came it was my first time so didn’t know how it worked went to order and he just pointed at the kiosk. I informed him the kiosk at that stand was not working he pointed me to the kiosk at the restaurant stand next to them in the mall food court. I ordered the shrimp platter. The food was ok overall. Rice and potatoe salad was good. The shrimp had a weird flavor but was ok.

Really great shrimp option at the Topanga mall! Reminded me of the good shrimp in Hawaii! Tasted authentic and well cooked. The classic shrimp plate comes with garlic shrimp (5/5), rice with furikake (4/5), Mac salad (5/5), and spicy pineapple chunks (5/5). The shrimp was perfectly cooked with no shell but still very crispy! A true shrimp lovers dream. The side Mac salad was also excellent but what really blew me away was the pineapple! I thought it was a great addition to the plate and really added to the meal. The rice was slightly dry but still good. If you aren't familiar with the topanga social, it's the bottom floor of the new wing of the topanga mall. They really went above and beyond with this food cafeteria which offers so many great options: what unique is that you can order at this giant iPad kiosks throughout the cafeteria for most of the stores. Because of this you really have little to no interaction with the staff which is why I can't comment how great they are or aren't. Overall really good food and excited to come back for more!

They have finally opened here in the Valley! Shrimp Daddy is now my favorite and go-to food place in Westfield Topanga. This is located inside the mall, at a food hall called Topanga Social. I usually order the shrimp plate with the sauce on the side. This sauce is the bomb! The shrimp, rice with furikake, macaroni salad and pineapple chunks go well together and compliment each other. Amazing!

This review is for their Topanga Park location in the Westfield mall food hall. Food was ready very quickly after order was placed on the tablet (you can order from any of the tablets in the hall so you can order when you first walk in instead of going to the shrimp daddy counter first). The garlic shrimp and Mac salad were delicious, the pineapple was a little too candied for my taste and the rice quality was mediocre, I would be a lot happier if the rice had better quality since the sauce on the shrimp is so delicious
