The pictures of this place make it look way better than it is. It's a shotgun layout with one coed bathroom. It's basically a glorified bar with bar food. We sent both of our dinners back because they were served to us cold. My pizza was raw. My husband, short rib, required a knife to cut it. The service and the response to our complaints were as professional as they could be, so kudos to the service. The table was so sticky that we had to use our menus as placemats. They came by to clean it, and the stickiness was adhesive or some sort of degrading wood finish. We really wanted to make the best of it, and we discussed leaving, but we stayed for the drinks. We were offered a free dessert for our trouble. I will not be going back to this place. We almost left two or three times to go nextdoor, but we're suckers for second chances. I loved the drinks, but my husband's $20 glass of wine was full of sediment at the bottom. We gave it a chance, and I've always wanted to eat here, but I'll never go back.

My husband and I stopped in here for a glass of wine before dinner. A lovely lady helped us at first then she went on break. After that, no one said a word to us. Another person sat next to us at the bar and nobody helped him until we went up and told them we needed to check out and the gentleman next to us needed help. The service was horrible. They walk by you and don't even look at you. They have a couple of great wines on their list they just need to get somebody to help you with them.

The service was amazing. We were looking forward to sitting outside and were bummed that the patio area had closed! But the indoor area is pretty nice and you can actually hear your own conversation. Very nice wine selection too!

Happy Hour Daily 4-6pm, great selection of drinks and appetizers and the bartenders are super chill. The music flows and creates such a vibe in the place, centrally located in the village in Carlsbad this place definitely merits your attention.

Chill music, down to earth bartenders and a relaxed vibe. The best part is the weekend happy hour from 4-6pm, centrally located in the village. Kid friendly as well. Do yourself a service and stop by the great establishment.

Oak + Elixir gave us a night we will remember for a long time. We gathered with 35 people for an event, enjoying amazing food and drinks. It's hard to say what we liked best-- the meatballs, the Hatch Chili Mac, or the Baked Brie bites. It was all excellent. We had a server for the event who was attentive and kind. We can't say enough good things about the owners--Oak + Elixir is an all-around top-notch restaurant.
Checking out the soft opening, amazing spot can't wait to head back! Food was amazing, wine list robust, and with such a wonderful welcoming and service as well, definitely would recommend this location for a stop while in Carlsbad!

We showed up early for our 8pm Valentine's reservation and were set immediately! Once we were say it wasn't a long wait for someone to get us started with water, drinks, etc. however after ordering appetizers service was slow. The food was fresh and flavorful And the drinks were unique and delicious. Expect to spend a bit over $100 for two person dinner (drinks, apps, entree). I'd say if you're in the area looking for a nice romantic spot, sure, but don't go out of ur way.
