Pizza is not good. Poor quality ingredients, mediocre dough. Trust the one star reviews. Also pay attention to how this place is responding to negative reviews.Service is good but doesn't make up for really bad expensive food.

We were looking for a traditional Italian place and we found it here! The thin pizza Arturo’s special was awesome and the sausage spaghetti was overflowing on the plate so the perfect place for a pre-race carb loading!!

I visit Allegro Pizzeria every time I visit my parents who live in the Monterey area, and I keep forgetting to write a review, but today is the day! I can't eat gluten, and they have the BEST gluten free pizza I've ever had. I usually order to-go and enjoy it at a nearby beach. Even with to-go orders, the staff is always amazing and friendly. One day soon I will dine in. :) Highly highly recommend this place!

This spot is OK but nothing to write home about. Typical pricey Carmel prices. At least the portions are decent. Everything is tasty if you're not picky. Lasagna is super cheesy. Pizza is super stuffed. The free bread they give you is super tasty but the texture seems a bit stale. But something about the taste and texture of everything is justtt a bit off from fresh. The lasagna was so cheesy but almost tasted like freezer burnt taste? And the pizza was just slightly too hard and seemed like it had been reheated a few times. The ranch was not good either. It's fine in a pinch but for the price, won't be coming back most likely. Lowered a star for that unprofessional response. Didn't know we're not allowed to have opinions on here and I thought it's Karens that ask for managers not if you don't ...weird thing to say

It is what it is. I knew I had a Saturday lunch planned here and messaged the business earlier in the week to ask about vegan cheese and vegan options. No response. We were sat and service was good. I used my Yelp Check In for a free pint of beer and both of my choices were not available. While it's true that Allegro offers Follow Your Heart vegan cheese, the server says that their crust is not vegan. Disclaimer - I've eaten a lot of non-vegan pizzas and a lot of vegan pizzas. Classic pizza dough is made with just flour, water, salt, and yeast. Some versions add olive oil. This creates a chewy texture, but needs a long slow rise to develop flavor but Allegro adds milk. I appreciate the server being straightforward with me so I ordered the Bruchetta Pomodore This is from Allegro's website BRUCHETTA POMODORO 11.95 tomato, olives, garlic, basil There's no mention of cheese When the Bruchetta plates arrived they all had cheese on top. The server gave us the additional Bruchetta and had another one made for me with no cheese. The other plates were presented nicely as to their favor profile, I can't comment but the other diners seem to have had a delicious experience. To the team at Allegro's. I appreciate trying to accommodate plant based and vegan customers but either do it right and transparently or don't do it at all. Being a graduate of CHS, working in the restaurant business in Carmel, and now being a vegan for the past 6 years, I wholeheartedly am willing to help you and your team craft some truly vegan options for vegan diners. With your location, the ambiance, and dedication to traditional recipes, it's a no-brainer.

Service was poor, and the restaurant was empty (2pm lunch) We ordered a few soups with bread, they didn't bring bread saying they are out, wouldn't substitute anything, just charged for what you didn't get. Pizza crust was soggy. Tomatoes on salad were rotten. Pasta was decent, everything was not good.. server was Elias.

Excellent pizza. We had the Italian Sausage Pizza on the menu, but we added mushrooms. The pizza was very good, and the sausage was fantastic.

Worst pizza ever! After lying about the price to get us to buy a full pizza instead of by the slice, we were handed the worst pizza I’ve ever had. The put burnt, dried, Parmesan on everything including the “garlic bread”, and pepperoni pizza. We also got a margatrita pizza that came with 3 basil leaves instead of arugula and one small Tomatoe slice per slice of pizza. For one terrible pizza and one order of stale disgusting garlic bread they had the audacity to charge me over 50$! The are many other great places to eat in the area. My advice is to save your time and money.

Maybe I ordered wrong? I thought I ordered a 8" cheese pizza but got 2 slices with what seemed like no sauce & Parmesan. Absolutely no cheese other than unmelted shredded Parmesan. Lacked any flavor or seasoning. Dough was not cooked all the way. My boyfriend said his spaghetti was good. Waiter was fantastic. Ambiance was welcoming.

The pizza was terrible. One was drowning in olive oil. The sausage ciabatta was bland and tasteless. The quality of the ingredients is clearly low. It's a shame because the ambiance and service were nice.
