The donuts are definitely "gourmet" and made fresh to order. The outside has a crunchy crust while still being warm, soft and glutinous on the inside. However, the dough itself is a bit savory for a donut, could have been a bit sweeter and the bread, softer. It's almost like the texture wants to be a mochi donut but feels like it didn't make the full commitment and is instead an awkward middle ground of stretchy with a squeaky mouthfeel in between the teeth; I couldn't decide whether or not that was a good thing. The flavors are... interesting, very faint. What I would expect for an affluent, upscale donut spot. One of them was Thai tea, which has a very fragrant and strong profile in its actual form, but on the donut tastes almost like nothing. The staff was nice enough. A touch more warmth and socialization could go a long way for the customer experience - but it seemed they were all tired for a late Saturday morning and couldn't be bothered to force more than one smile between the 3 of them. Considering the price, there is a lot left to be desired. The interior decor seems like it's aiming for chic simplicity, but doesn't meet the mark. Again, could use more of warmth, more branding, sales-efficient merchandise placement. Ultimately, didn't blow my socks off. Would recommend haphazardly if it came up in such a conversation, but personally wouldn't return.

Walked in around 11am on a Sunday Hardly anyone in line which was nice because we were hungry! We chose: - Cinnamon Sugar (5 stars) - Thai Iced Tea Glazed (2 stars) - Ground Chocolate (5 stars) - Strawberry Glazed (6 stars) There's plenty of space to sit and enjoy these and the space was clean and inviting. Thai Iced Tea flavor didn't taste like anything at all really but was still warm and fluffy The Ground Chocolate is hard to describe but trust me it's unique and very very enjoyable Cinnamon Sugar tastes like Churro and is very classic The one that blew me away was the Strawberry glazed because they make it with real strawberries from a local farm! If you're in Carmel you HAVE to try this place

Total rip off. Display donuts are beautifully dipped in thick batter. What you actually get is a donut with barely any glaze that the taste is not discernible. At $4.5O a donut this is a total waste of money. Don't sell me one thing then give me something vastly different. Service was friendly which is another reason I thought my order would be so much better. I was also the only customer there and there were at least two people working on a slow afternoon. Does this fatty understand that this is a total first world problem? Of course I do. We were miles away when we dug into our bag. Glad that my local old school donut shop makes a much better product at less than half the price. There are so many other bakeries in downtown Carmel to spend your calories.

I brought my most-addicted donut friend here, and it was life-changing. She's still talking about it nearly a week later. I had one too, and while it won't convert me into another addict, I also thought it was the best I ever had. My only complaint is that I'd have liked a plain sugar one, but really the cinnamon wasn't overwhelming, and the chocolate was quite good. If you're anywhere near there, it's worth braving the Carmel traffic and stuffing your face here as much as humanly possible.

2nd time here. Donuts are amazing. Warm with the perfect slight crunch and just the right amount of salt. Service was great, waited on quickly, pleasant and professional. Quiet place to rest and tables to sit and enjoy your dinner.

What an amazing place for donuts! Nothing beats freshly made donuts. Insanely good. Don't miss if you're in the area! (Seriously... I'd drive an hour for these donuts!)

Valrhona chocolate on donuts is a dream! Hands down the best donuts I've ever had . My husband and kids all enjoyed ! Will definitely come back before we leave town

Great donuts - especially when hot out of the fryer. Light and slightly chewy. I normally don't eat donuts but really love these. The staff seem somewhat inexperienced or apathetic. But if you can overlook that, excellent choice for fresh, made to order, yummy donuts.

Spent the day in Carmel and decided to stop by this place for a donut while we waited for our dinner reservation. I love that the donuts are made to order. It was warm and fresh when I got it which I loved. The total came out to almost $6 for the donut. It was good & worth trying at least once!

Damn, that is a good donut. Freshly made...if you think hot now is delicious, this is another level. Classic flavors, no gimmicks, just yummy. Beignet was good but not transcendent like the donut. Crust a little thick and not as airy as I imagined. Still delicious

We swung by Dutch Door Donuts after lunch in Carmel and enjoyed freshly made donuts! They have quite a few selection of flavors that were interesting but we ultimately chose to try the espresso martini, rhubarb glazed, almond horchata, and beignets. Of these, our favorite was the blueberry because of the tartness that helps contrasts the sweet glaze. Our least favorite was the beignet as the dough was a little saltier (and you're forced to order 3 at a time). What I like about this place is that you get to enjoy the donuts freshly made - which is not usually the case for most donut shops. They also have coffee which was great to complement the donuts!

Lightly sweetened, both interesting and classic flavors, fried in front of you so they come out hot and delicious

This place is awesome! The donuts are cooked after you order and I have not found anywhere that creates the flavors they do. The Maple bacon wow!the blood orange glaze, delicious. It is hard to stop eating but fun to share with others.
