Everything was incredible! Service was excellent, food was extremely delicious in my opinion ! I can tell chef was put all his heart in every single dish and created it incredible with the best ingredients! I definitely going back again when i visit Carmel . And sorry took me so long to review this and i think this restaurant deserves my 5 stars reviews.

It's impossible to overstate how excellent Foray is. Adding to the truly high-end-but-casual-and-comfy dining scene in Carmel, and tellingly across the street from Chez Noir, Foray excelled in innovative amazing locally sourced magic on the plate - and in the glass (great cocktails using local ingredient. Candy Cap!). Topped by a great Happy hour for bites and drinks - this is a must do in Carmel every time we here now and they deserve the PR and word of mouth they are starting to get. Like Chez Noir, head here before it gets hard to get in and they get their first star :)

What a phenomenal dining experience!! We chose the tasting menu and from start to finish our tastebuds were dancing. The espresso martini was exquisite!!

Innovative and charming. Some details detracted from the experience, such as the smell and acoustics. And the staff totally failed to read my reservation notes, so they didn't know it was my girlfriend's birthday. Cocktails were also significantly too sweet. But the food was very good.

Celebrated my birthday with my husband, son, his wife and about 10 other close friends - and what a celebration it was. From the time we were greeted at the door with the most amazing specialty cocktails and mocktails, to the time we left our evening was over the top special. The Brioche with house-churned candy cap butter literally melted in my mouth, rich and buttery, yet amazingly light and elegant. And the BaJa Toro bite was so delicious that I immediately wished I had ordered more. But good thing I didn't because the other dishes delighted my taste buds and I savored every bit. I thought I was too full for even a little taste of birthday dessert, but all of my dreams of a rich, dense chocolate cake came true. Simply the best. The ambience was intimate with a contemporary twist. I wish I could give Foray 100 stars.

The finest dining experience with the best service in all of Carmel! The scallop appetizer is exquisite, but the aged black cod entree is absolutely next level! Save room for dessert. The huckleberry pie is not to be missed. It may be helpful to know Foray has a wonderful private room, which is the ideal spot for a larger group to gather and enjoy a perfect meal together.

We had a lovely evening at Foray. The service was incredible (thank you Ernesto!)We had 2 cocktails; I enjoyed the Carmelcito. For bites we ordered oysters, row duo and the brown butter brioche- my favorite was the brioche. For starters, we got the scallop, abalone risotto, and short rib raviolo. The presentation was truly stunning and the abalone risotto with truffle was a standout.Not pictured was the Mexican vanilla ice cream for dessert, also excellent.

BEST DINING EXPERIENCE IN CARMEL! If you love really good food, made with intention and care, do not overlook this gem. Exceptional staff and ownership. We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. Caroline served exceptional wines. She guided us through all the tastes with a custom pairing experience for each. We will be back. SIMPLY AMAZING!

Wow! Absolutely amazing restaurant and experience. Met up with friends for happy hour. Caroline was gracious enough to show us around and point out the intricacies of the design elements and original artwork. Every detail was carefully thought out right down to the menu which is made from an amalgamation of paper and Gilroy garlic skins. She even took us into the kitchen to meet chef Michael who was lovely, genuine and down to earth. You can tell it's an absolute labor of love for them and it shows both in the top notch food, drinks, and ambiance. Not overly stuffy or pretentious yet elegant and refined. Yes it is pricey, but the food is a work of culinary art and I feel fairly priced for the quality. Totally on par with l'auberge and in my humble opinion, it's only a matter of time when there will be another Michelin rated restauraunt in carmel. Shared the duck egg brioche with candy cap mushroom butter, oysters, kale salad, and an artichoke dish and cleansed the pallette with a deliciously spicy carmelcito martini. All superb ?. Will definitely be back again and again.

Our dinner experience was absolutely spectacular. The customer service was top notch, the cocktails were delicious and words cannot express how wonderful the food was. We ordered the Sumo Kumo Oysters, Saltwater Roe Duo with White Sturgeon Caviar, Binchotan Roasted Mano De Leon Scallop, Spiny Lobster and the 14 Day House Aged Monterey Bay Black Cod. Everything was INCREDIBLE, especially the Scallop and Black Cod!! Presentation was beautiful, detailed and intricate. We ordered the bread pudding for dessert - that was very delectable and a great way to end our dinner. The soft lighting and music created perfect ambiance. My husband is an executive chef in the Chicagoland area and he was very impressed with the food! If we're in the Carmel area again we're definitely going back to Foray. The restaurant has only been open for about a year and a half (when we went)...everything was superb and extraordinary and we look forward to seeing what else they bring to the industry! We wish them lots of success and good fortune. Definitely check this restaurant out!!

Foray in Carmel California is a culinary gem. The use of amazing produce sets it apart from the competition as does the fantastic cooking of the classically trained chef Michael Chang.The menu is full of exciting and unique dishes and is currently at the level of a one star.To be clear this is not the classic “holiday restaurant “.In fact it reminds me more of the establishments that I used to frequent when I lived in Mayfair London.If you are looking for a menu of “deep fried everything” this is not the place for you.If you love true fine dining then you will love Foray.

My husband and I have dinned at Foray several times soon after they opened to a few weeks ago. Each time has been better than the last and they now have found their groove of excellence in all aspects of what makes for a truly great restaurant. The room is warm and welcoming, the service staff is gracious and knowledgable, and each dish is presented beautifully and with tastes that delight. Order the chicken ( my favorite). You will be in for a memory maker.
