Tourists Beware! Excellent food. Excellent service. Very high price for breakfast: 2 OJ's, 2 omelets, 1 short stack was $86 and change. Whaaat?! And ... CASH ONLY!!! Left pissed off and will not return, and will be sure to warn everyone we know in Monterey.

The food was really good. My wife and I had the waffle breakfast with eggs and sausage. The waffles were cooked just right! However, it is one the more expensive breakfast places in town and they only accept cash. Not a good combination but the food was good.

***CASH ONLY***DO your patron a favor and PAY THE CREDIT CARD FEES AND ACCEPT CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS. It's called the "COST OF DOING BUSINESS"! I will never step foot in this place again. All servers should inform their patrons prior to service that they ONLY accept CASH. No credit cards, no debit cards, no personal checks.....Nothing posted on their website about CASH ONLY either. I had to leave my license with whom i suppose was the owner, and he told me that there was an ATM down the road to get money out. I had $40 cash, but it would not cover the dollar and chane over that or a tip. So i had to leave to get cash to pay up. The food was very expensive too. I got 3 eggs that came with 3 thin sausage patties, country potatoes, and rye bread. $19.00. Coffee $6.00, side of bacon $8.00, and a soda water off tap $6.00. Total was over $41 plus tip! Never again! Treat your patrons better!

Cute house. Neat location. Cash only. Tiny sign under cash register. They take your ID while you do the walk of shame to the ATM 3 blocks away. $100 for 3 to eat a greasy spoon breakfast. Nobody looks like they like their job. I wished I had read the reviews first but just did a search nearby on the way to Big Sur. Yikes!

I went during a family reunion and memorial for my Grandfather. Rocky’s favorite meal of the day was breakfast and this was his spot during numerous golf trips to Pebble Beach. Our group filled the entire place!I can't say enough about the staff and the owner Randy. They were patient with the kids, the food was quick and the service was friendly throughout.I ordered the Denver Omlette which ran around $17 if I remember. The portion was filling but not too much. When I return I plan to try one of the benedict dishes next. The black coffee was great and I also enjoyed the orange juice. My kids enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes! If you are looking to support a local business for breakfast, Katy’s place should probably be high on your list. #EatLocalCarmelParking: We came early and found multiple free parking spots on the street.Kid-friendliness: The staff was great with our kids and got the food out quickly to the little ones.

Mmm this is by far the worse brunch place I've ever been to. From the appearance, the food and also not to mention they only take CASH. I mean sure it's nice way to hide your money but the service was terrible as well. Save your time and money.

Horrible place! Do not recommend. The service was horrendous, you can only pay cash (and the waitress sent us across the street to use the ATM machine), and it was very hot inside. I ordered crab cakes and waffles to share with my kids. The crab cakes were cold and the waffles were not made from scratch (you could tell they used one of those packaged mixes that you can buy at a grocery store). It was also very expensive! Which is expected in Carmel but not for this kind of brunch! Very disappointing! Will never be back!

Breakfast was delicious! I'm celiac and was able to order a Denver omelette with potatoes as a gluten free option. So good and I didn't have any gluten contamination. The fresh pressed apple juice is really good and not too sweet like others. Can't wait to go back next time.

After many years of going to Katie's this will be our last time $6 coffee and cash only makes this a tourist trap.

Over priced! Be aware! $66 dollars (tip not included)for 2 plates of (2 pancakes, 2 sausages and 2 eggs) nothing special. $6 dollar cup of coffee?!! Really? Waitress seemed annoyed, not friendly. Food was good. Leave this for the tourist, won't be coming back.

$6 for a cup of mediocre black coffee and $30+ for a breakfast entry--and cash only? Tourists keep it alive but there are far better breakfast options in Carmel and with far better prices.

I've been before but didn't realize no patio seating for customers with pets. Carmel is supposed to be a pet-friendly town. I was so looking forward to having breakfast but person who greeted us, just said "sorry, we are not pet-friendly. Disappointing, but took our pet and business to another location. Katy's place, you might want to go with Carmel's motto and bring your business accommodations up to date. And maybe get a CC machine.

This is more of a suggestion slip than a review. Service was great. Huevos Rancheros was a little off. Not sure if it was watery or the tomatoes weren’t ripe but mediocre at best. Everything else looked great though. Suggestions: 1.) it’s 2024, let’s start using a credit card machine. This place is cash only. 2.) Don’t fill your drinks with so much ice. I tried mixing a lemon into my iced tea and it felt like a dang iceberg. 3.) If you’re going to give out go cups and you don’t have straws in the restaurant, don’t give me a lid with a straw hole. Cafe lids with a sipping hole would be preferred. Other than that, keep up the good work.
