Arrived at the Covey Grill and there were 3 staff standing around and no one greeted us (welcome to The Covey - or similar, just to confirm we were in the right place - as were were first timers - was about to turn around and look for the right place) nor checked us in. Had to wait a while for a host to greet us - which is fair enough. We were seated in the outside area, which is an outstanding space! I had tried to call The Covey during business hours in the previous week but could not reach anyone to confirm menu options. As it turns out, it was buffet only (no a la carte), which may have been OK but there were no options for celiac/gluten intolerant diners and could not be accommodated. So, we had to unfortunately leave and find an alternative lunch option - in 27 years in the area this was a first :( I'm not ranting but just being as factual as I can be and would not recommend.

We are club members and just delighted with the new chef and the new menu. The Covey is a beautiful location overlooking the hotel grounds. The service has greatly improved and the food is well prepared.

The night we were there they had about 3 fixed price dinners on the menu-- no other choices. None of the menus sounded appetizing so we left without eating and went somewhere else that had a reasonable choice of items. Also the fixed price was $60-- ridiculous! What happened to the small but good choices that they used to offer?

Intertesting. Although OT confirmed our reservation at Covey, Covey was not open on sunday. We went nearby to Edgar's, which was a great surprise. Best “smasch burger” in CA., but you mist ber a member or guest of Quail Lodge.

We ate on the deck overlooking the pond; quiet and peaceful. Our server was very personable and attentive. The cocktails were great. But the food was just OK. Specifically, the Caesar was over-dressed, the tomato soup was oily, and there was WAY too much sauce on my wife's salmon and grains. On the plus side, her entree was well-cooked, just way too "goopy" (her term). And the grilled cheese starter was terrific. We'll be back, but we'll be more specific about sauces and the like. But it was a nice meal in a nice setting, and the potential is there for it to be very, very good.

We went for the Wednesday night prix fixe. Its was a good value for a normally very high end price list at $60 per person for a three course dinner. We brought our 11 year old with us, as we were on holiday. They had three choices off menu for her: hot dog, buttered pasta and French fries. It was a simple grilled hot dog, but one of the tastiest we've tasted! We actually liked it more than she did. She ate up the large dish of buttered pasta completely! All our dishes were absolutely delicious with multi layers and textures. There was also a very hard to find by the glass Far Niente Chardonnay that was crisp and smooth. It cost a bit more than the Laurent champagne but was yummy. The dessert that night was rhum baba but I would skip it next time and substitute for the amazing ice cream we got for our daughter!

We enjoyed the new interior atmosphere of The Covey. It's softer, warmer and more inviting. Our party of four enjoyed beet and Caesar salads, pastas and the classic hamburger. Our waiter was terrific- he treated us with the professional familiarity appreciated in a club (we are Quail members).

Fantastic gem conveniently located at Quail Lodge. Dinner was amazing - we loved the charcuterie board appetizer - and our entrees were delicious and well-portioned. It was a quieter evening and the service was top notch! Well done!

Delicious! Tried their pre-fixed menu. Husband had the salmon and I had the filet. Both were delicious. Husband had the strawberry/rhubarb pie and I had the mud pie (more like a flourless chocolate cake) and again both were outstanding. Lovely setting and the service was great too. We will definitely be back!

Harris Ranch filet mignon with au poivre sauce, sautéed gourmet mushrooms and Brussels with goat cheese and balsamic Very pleasing. Quail burger, delicious with pomme frits. Attentive staff and nice ambience. Buon Appetito!

The special Christmas Eve menu was amazing. We had the prime rib and the duck breast, both which were outstanding. The sides on the plate were delicious, as well. And I've never had a better mud pie! All in all, it was a very special evening.

Covey Grill boasts Harris Ranch beef and pork entrees. The best filet ever! Sides of Brussel sprouts and sauté mushrooms completed the dish. I had the Shrimp Fiorentini the description did not reflect that it was a pasta dish with cellentani. The bolognese pasta always a winner. Ambience and staff never disappoints.
