High-quality fish is critical to good sushi, and Toro delivers! Absolutely mouth-watering sushi. If you like rolls, they have excellent options as well that are creative and delicious. You can tell ownership is good because everything comes from the top down and the service is wonderful and friendly.

Fantastic! From start to finish!Iris was very accommodating and gave us the best table in the house. The Spider Roll is probably the best we've ever had. This was the cherry on top in our Carmel experience.

Incredible sushi! Really fresh and flavorful. We loved the rolls and I especially loved the scallop nigiri. The ambiance was very cool and peaceful. Expensive but worth it.

BEST food there is in Carmel! I have been here a few times and everything that I've ordered tastes incredible! Very friendly and helpful staff here to help with recommendations and the restaurant is so warm and inviting!

The sushi is really lacking here. I ordered the nigiri combo and an additional roll and was really disappointed. If dining here I suggest you have a cooked dish like the teriyaki. Service was very good and the patio is cute. Super dog friendly.

We always choose to eat outside. Fresh fish and artfully presented.

The food is decent here, but for the same price you can get more at other restaurants. I think the service is limited too, so it can be tough to get food and drinks. I can only recommend the poke bowl for lunch.

Place was a touch small, but the food was super solid. All the food came out expediently. Servers were very professional without being arrogant. Nice date night spot. Ask for a place near the fireplace if it's chilly night or winter

Toro has always been one of our favorite spots but this visit was really disappointing. The service was bad - our server was super nice but hardly checked in, to the point we had to ask other servers for help. Food was quite underwhelming which was shocking since it used to be one of our favorites in Carmel. Hoping it was just a fluke but not sure if we'd put it on our list for a revisit.

The people were very friendly and the atmosphere was not bad, actually it was nice and cozy with the fire wood burning in the fireplace at the corner. However the food was far below my expectation . From the moment I entered, it smelled like fish ( a fresh fish market or a sushi place should NOT smell like fish). We ordered miso soups, futomaki, dragon rolls, and Carmel rolls. When the rolls came to our table, I was stunned at the look of the Futomaki! They were NOT Futomaki. When I asked the waiter before I ordered how many pieces they serve because different places serve different number of rolls. He told me that it came with 6 pieces. The dish had 4 strange and unprofessional looking rolls. Futomaki means huge rolls, and the waiter showed me with his fingers how big they are, but the ones he brought to the table were unevenly stuffed rolls that must have been some untrained chef's failure pieces. And they were not even big at all! Other rolls were disappointing as well. All the rolls had too much rice. I don't know about the other dishes they have, but what we had was enough to deter us from going back. I am sorry that I am leaving a negative review, but the 4.0 review score of this place misled me to the misfortune. I decided to leave this review candidly, so people can make informed decisions.

Cute spot, indoor and outdoor. Staff was friendly and happy to offer recs. We went Saturday night and it was busy, but we never felt overlooked. Great music playing and sushi was out of this world. We had the seared Carmel roll and Geisha roll. Both super unique and very crave-able. Spicy Garlic Edamame is not to be overlooked.

A beautiful sunny day in Downtown Carmel with fresh delicious food and paired with a nice glass of Gruner Veltliner and excellent service, made our bi-monthly visit to Carmel complete once again. Toro Rocks!
