Great service, food is wonderful. Glad I found this place. Great stopping place on the coast.

Owners charge extra if you pay with a credit card. With no notice, they took away the loyalty points accumulated over many loyal purchases. The new owners seem to have a lousy business model compared to the original owners. I'll take my business elsewhere--which is too bad, because some lovely people are employed at this place.

Both my dad and I went there for lunch and both sandwiches that we ordered were bland had very little taste. It seems like they're just putting them together but there's no real special unique part of the sandwich. It's just an overpriced sandwich. Could have gotten more flavor from a grocery store

New owners have changed the beauty of the place. They no longer allow credit cards (without a surcharge), and with no notice to customers, they abolished using points that have been accumulated over many loyal purchases. I can only assume that the new owners are not locals, because they don't understand locals taking care of locals. I'll be taking my business elsewhere (and I used to place orders of over $100 for work/staff lunches, etc).

Great sandwiches! Nice selection of breads. More than just peanut butter and jelly, too!

We had high hopes for this sandwich shop because of the reviews and we were very disappointed. We ordered three sandwiches and none were amazing. My husband had the Italian on a soft roll and he said it was just ok. I had the Thanksgiving on a soft roll and it was very underwhelming. Almost no cream cheese or cranberry sauce to the point of it being dry. The only thing I could really taste was the red onion (which I love but I want other flavors as well). My daughter had the signature Peebee and Jay on white sourdough. She was very disappointed and said it tasted like a bad school lunch pb&j. She wanted is super gooey and a lot more jelly. The shop was super cute inside and the employee that helped us was nice. We just wanted better sandwiches. $45 for three sandwiches, 2 chips and 2 fountain drinks seemed very expensive for the quality of the sandwiches.

Fantastic. One of our favorite spots on a two week trip. I told my friend in Santa Barbara to go here. The sandwiches were fab and the gluten free bread was the best I've had. Gluten free cookies too. Fantastic team. Thanks for a great lunch.Dietary restrictions: Great gluten free options

What a gem of a sandwich shop! Just passing through Carpenteria and found it on Yelp. In a shopping center just off the 101. Great variety of soft fresh bread with any combination of meat, vegetarian, or sweet sandwich options you could imagine. I loved the vegetarian Carpenterian with golden heirloom tomatoes.

Innovative menu items, amusing descriptions, but service is dragging. Pros: + I enjoyed seeing all the innovative sandwiches on the menu, particularly the bacon/date/goat cheese/turkey sandwich. + The descriptions are fun, like "a bacon went on a date." + Bread was nice and fresh. + The Cobb salad was loaded with meat and other goodies and was well above average, Cons: - Dining area inside is quite small, but most people take out from here. - The bacon/date/turkey sandwich was good but just slightly dry. - The cashier took about 60 seconds looking at the iPad cash register to enter every menu item ordered. If I ordered a "build your own" sandwich I fear I would have been standing there for 15 minutes. - The other staff didn't seem supremely motivated either. - Drink selection is limited in a small fridge, no fountain. Fortunately the food is pretty good especially some sandwiches you may not have heard of or considered before. Worth a shot for sure.

This was the perfect sandwich shop for our beach day. I asked the cashier what sandwich he would recommend for me and he said the Turkey on the Range with ciabatta. I decided to also get a PB and J sandwich just to see how they were as well, so I ordered the Peebee's Gone Bananas with honey wheat bread. Staff was friendly and helpful. The order was ready in less than 10 minutes. The Turkey on the Range was a great choice. Plenty of Turkey with avocado, red onion, cheese, tomato and ranch dressing. It felt like a solid meal and I felt pretty satisfied after eating it. The PB and J was for a snack later on and I shared half of it with my sister. It was nothing to write home about. Pretty standard for PB with bananas and honey. But it was still a good choice. I definitely would come back on my next vacation.

Peebee & Jays to go for a beach side picnic was a great idea! Just like mom used to make, on honey wheat bread this peanut butter w/banana sandwich hits the spot when craving sweet and savory. Maybe it was the cream cheese, or because I've been mayo deprived for years but this was best vegetarian sandwich I've had in years. The Carpintarian is a sandwich you can really sink your teeth into. Carrot shreds are different but I still enjoyed it. The ciabatta bread really made this a fulfilling sandwich! The place is small with some tables inside and a few outdoors. Lots of folks picking up orders to-go.

Interesting small shop. Good fresh food - more than just PB&J. Staff is what set it apart for me. Very friendly and made my stop worthwhile. I'd go again. Fast & good!

Only rye or multigrain bread available, and the young girl at the register was incredibly rude. Not sure if this was just a bad day for her or her regular attitude and I will probably never know as I won't be back. Disappointing but many other lunch options

Omg such good sandwiches. The Apple sandwich I got was super good. The sandwich's are HUGE though. The staff were really nice. The place was nice and clean. I recommend you eat there.

They didn’t have any jibjibs available and it was disappointing but everything else was swell
