I love this restaurant, I have lunch here weekly. My go to for beef & broccoli, and the best sizzling rice soup I've ever had. This is a local family owned restaurant, wonderful people, great food. A perfect neighborhood place.

The fish in hot garlic sauce and the eggplant with tofu were absolutely delicious. I have made two visits and was very pleased both times. Very clean, very friendly, very good food. The service was warm and friendly on both occasions; my food was was delicious and a good value for price.

I found out about this restaurant because of the greatest local political race story in the history of the region. I was on a bicycle ride from UCSB down to Carpinteria and stopped along the way to call the restaurant. I ordered two things with noodles. When I rolled into town and walked into the restaurant, there he was, the new County Supervisor, Roy Lee. The food was all ready. I purchased a wonderful, soft T-shirt then brought the food over to a local brewery to share with friends. Everyone loved the noodles. It was fun to see community members stopping in to congratulate Mr. Lee.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Food was great. Service was fast and prices were very affordable and reasonable The restaurant is easy to find and we came on a busy Saturday night. We were seated immediately and our order came in fast. All the foods we ordered were all yummy for a happy tummy.

Today was my first time to try Uncle Chen Chinese Restaurant. It was altogether enjoyable. The ambiance was pleasant. Super clean. Excellent polite and professional customer service. Food was beautifully served on really cute plates. DELICIOUS! I had the broccoli chicken with noodles instead of rice and he had the sweet & sour pork. Luncheon special is a great deal. Asked if possible to speak with Roy Lee. What a great guy. I'll be back, for sure.

I'll start off by saying I have eaten at Uncle Chen many times. Service is good and food has always been very good. Got take out this time. I hate to report but the food this time was just beyond horrible! Nasty! It was a Sunday evening...maybe the regular cook was off? Ended up throwing it all out. $62 down the drain and ended having to find something else to eat. Ordered Sweet and Sour Shrimp. Usually the shrimp are excellent and have a nice crispy deep fry coating on them. These had a really slimy rubbery coating. Took one bite and spit it out. Unfortunately, tasted just awful too. The shrimp wasn't fresh. Check out the photo I posted of what the Sweet and Sour Shrimp usually looks like next to what I received and tell me this isn't gross. The sauce on the Kung Pao chicken was so thick and syrupy that it coagulated into a gluey gel consistency. The Moo Goo Gai Pan was all Chicken and very little vegetables as well and was bland. Rice was dried out too. I'm so upset over spending so much and having to throw it all out that I won't return. How could they go from having really good food to the most vile Chinese food I have ever had?

I can't believe my family has never eaten here in all the times we have visited Carpinteria! We really enjoyed the ribs, chow mien, and Terryaki chicken. My daughters even enjoyed the garlic edamame. Service was great too...our waiter was very attentive and filled our drinks constantly. (love their ice tea!) We will definitely eat here again!

Picked up some cool shirts while we were there. Best place we ate in that area. Would visit there any day of the week if it wasn't 2000 miles away
