Great neighborhood lunch place with friendly and efficient service. The whole family enjoyed our selection of tuna melt, soup, burger, and tasty pita chips. I would definitely come back for a meal on the way to or from the Central Coast.

I lived three years in Carp and for some reason I never thought about going to Zookers. I think the name threw me off even though people would tell me I should go there. Finally after driving through Carp on my daily commute, my son and I decided we should give it a try. He really wanted the fried chicken sandwich however that item was not available on the dinner menu so he went for the burger instead and I had a tofu dish. We got some bread too. Let me tell you we were shocked how good everything tasted! The food was incredible - every bite a delight. His pup style burger cooked and seasoned to perfection. ( mind you my son is a burger snob) - and the potatoes crispy and super tasty. My tofu waiter dish was also really good. Pretty much every bite including the bread basket was amazing. We really wanted to try the dessert and the staff was so nice to split it for us since we were too full for the whole portion alone. The presentation was spot on too. Even though it's in a mini mall once you enter this culinary oasis you immediately forget that the sketchy albertson parking lot. The next day we decided to order the fried chicken sandwiches to go. And let me tell you they did not disappoint either , probably the best fried chicken I had in a long time. We could not wait to eat them at home so we started to nibble on them outside Starbucks and had many people approach us where we got these incredible tasty looking sandwiches. I still can't believe we have not gone there sooner and most reviewers on here seem to agree with me that this is the best restaurant in carp if not Santa Barbara. It had a very inviting feeling to it, a place where many people seem to return for a meal and beautiful local artwork on the wall for sale. We will be coming back for sure!

Perfect spot to buy the start of an epic meal. Friendly people. Engaging and knowledgable with obvious passion for what they do. The selection of meat and seafood is intense and will fit your pallette. There are high quality cuts, fresh sushi-grade seafood (I always eat a slice of salmon even when cooking the rest) and amazing special dishes. There are even some items prepared to be cooked and served, such as lasagna and kabobs. A clean and simple aesthetic hilights the quality products (each chosen for top flavor) like capers, pickles, cheeses, etc. My go-to for almost every meal.

Stayed in Carpinteria for a couple days for a Sports Tournament. We arrived pretty late (730-8ish) on a Friday evening so there wasn't much of a selection open when we searched for nearby restaurants. Zookers was the closest and reviews looked good. The food itself was very good. I had the Cioppino, and my kids had Fettucini and a kids Spaghetti. The menu itself was pricier than most for the meal we received. The server was just okay, as they weren't very attentive to us, and we had to keep asking for water and other things. The owner/manager was not friendly at all, and some of the comments I overheard from her were distasteful. If we have another tournament in that area, this is one place we will not be returning to at all. I also do not recommend this place at all, especially if you are a minority.

This is one of the best restaurants in Santa Barbara avounty. We eat there whenever we are in Carpenteria. Everything we've had there has been absolutely delicious.

Great food and service! I wish the eggplant parm had a little more red sauce on it. My husband loved the seafood pasta! Service and atmosphere were amazing!

We were very pleasantly surprised tonight. A party of eight on a Tuesday. My wife and I shared the steamers (clams and mussels) for an appetizer. Delicious. Great sauce. We devoured it. The chili relleno was unbelievable! The ahi was a little mediocre, but not terrible. Plus our party shared three desserts which were all splendid. The bread pudding and chocolate pie were the best! I would recommend to anyone visiting Carpinteria!

It looked promising with the menu and specials. We got the heirloom salad thinking it was going to be just tomato, but it had lettuce on it that was saturated with dressing. We also go the corn crusted fish and flavor was excellent but was overcooked, we sent it back. Ended up having to leave cause our baby was fussing. They still charged us for the fish and we didn't eat it.

As I sat to eat, the owner began insulting employees and patrons alike. She then acted like it was no big deal, this tells me that she is a horrible mean person and does this often. It made me sick to my stomach and lose my appetite, I will never visit this place again. I cannot believe anyone would even consider working here.
