The very first photo for this restaurant is wrong. We were catfished. Beside that, the food and serving experience was decent.

Good old Sam Woo. Solid, reasonable, tasty food consistently. We're still mourning the closing of the stores in Irvine. Often take advantage of the multitude of stores in SGV when we are visiting. We were in the Seal Beach area, jumped onto the I-605, and were at the Cerritos store in about 15 minutes. It had been a long day and we just wanted takeout to take home and eat. Got a whole roast duck, cut up, and an order of chicken chow fun dry. Can't go wrong with those dishes. Great to have that consistent quality without driving up to San Gabriel Valley.

Very generous portions offset by also generous prices.Still, as far as Chinese Cantonese restaurants go, Sam Woo still offers delicious fare with generous portions that prove enough for a second or even third meal leftovers

My first time I was very impressed with the service and the food is excellent. I was born and raised in Washington and have a very hard time finding the taste I know and love in chinese food here in California. My second visit the waiter or server seemed as if we were a bother. Or maybe it was just that they were busy. Nice place food I love the smell as I walked in the door. Remind me of home. Thank you so much for the excellent food and service.

Food and service is good ....only problem is your food don't come at once, do you ask for 6 plates and they bring one by one, when the last one show up, first one is finished o food is cold .....
Mom & Pop feel with excellent service and care is really given to preferences to changes on menu items. BUT be nice about it or they will not accommodate you at all.

Can't believe that the City of Artesia has not done an inspection on this restaurant. The outside all around is filthy and the inside is iffy!!!! Boxes of product stored everywhere even in the men's restroom, TAPE holding a cabinet together near the entrance - who opens to the public with this kind of shoddy appearance? We were nervous to order once we saw the set up - The Wor won ton soup was good and the salted shrimp were good too but don't bother with the lobster as it is almost impossible to get the meat given the way its 'chopped' up.Not worth the drive to Artesia for sure - clean-up your facility there is no excuse for filth!

The place looks nice and clean but food is not authentic Cantonese Chinese. I like that the dishes are not overly salty or with too much MSG like some restaurants, but they are not delicious, especially with the price. We ordered specialties like cha siu and it’s just tasteless and felt not fresh. The wonton seemed to be exactly the same stuffing as the (not) cha siu. Hot braise string bean (干煸四季豆) was just boiled string beans with sauce. So if you’re craving for authentic Cantonese Chinese, won’t recommend.
Great Chinese food is here. The same quality every time.
