I ordered the Santa Cruz (hot), it came cold without bacon, avocado, or provolone which are all listed in the sandwich description. The only things on the sandwich were Pastrami, cream cheese, lettuce, and tomato. No pickles, or onions, on a dry bread roll, and it was $18... that was a $2 dollar sandwich and nothing like the description. Couldn't get a refund. Will never be back.

This location is probably one of the worst ones I've been to. I ordered my sandwich through DoorDash and was shocked that they would even give this to a customer. I paid $20 for this only to find that all you can taste is burnt bread. Save your money.

If you're looking for a serious sandwich, look no further. I was an undergrad at CSUC when this place opened up and it really has held its own over the years. It offers a fun beach-like environment with lots of seating areas. I love the unique decor. The staff are upbeat and the turnaround isn't bad at all. Like many other reviewers, I'm partial to their Surfin' Bird sandwich. Turkey, bacon, cream cheese, guac, fresh bread, what's not to love? The sandwiches are on the larger side and can definitely make up two meals. There's also a good beer selection here - this is a great spot to sit and watch the downtown life pass by as you indulge in your amazing sandwich creation. The shop is on a busy downtown corner and while there is scattered parking, a private lot isn't offered. It's a good spot to stop for a bite if you're exploring the downtown region.

Great food, though a bit overpriced. Only major downfall was the music volume inside. Don’t know if I just caught them on a bad day but it was SO LOUD! Other than that, relatively quick service and good sandwiches. Vegetarian options were good.

I ordered the Shark bite to go and it was a little underwhelming.
Amazing service and friendly staff, the awesome person here recommended the California sandwhich with sprouts added to it for a vegetarian and it was amazing, I will definitely order it again before I head back to seattle.

I've never dined in at a Beach Hut Deli. I've only ever used them to cater lunch meetings. I have to say their specialty sandwiches are far superior to their standard catered sandy's. The Santa Cruz, toasted, is my new favorite sandwich, anywhere. The staff was a joy to interact with, the seating was reasonable for a Sunday afternoon, and the food really hit the spot. Can't wait to visit the ones in my hometown, Sacramento. :)
