Strong Water Cocktail Bar • $$
25 Lost Dutchman Drive, Chico

“Always a good experience when I stop here. Experience goes far back to original Oregon brews. This place has some of the best brews I’ve had. Not a real hazy person but loved one that was suggested. I came in with a porter taste bud but when I tasted a brown that was recommended I ordered the brown over the English Porter. A great bier is a great bier no matter what the style of brewing.Haven’t had the food so only reason not rated.“

Duffy's Tavern Cocktail Bar • $
337 Main St, Chico

“The parts I remember after hitting a concert in town were superb. Always a good friendly crowd and the drinks are always right on. Actually, closed the place - had such a great time. Made new connections and hopefully long-term friends. This is a staple of Chico, I guess you could also say a "stable" as in a grounded watering hole.“

Panama Bar Cafe Bar • $
177 E 2nd St, Chico

“Tried Panama Bar and Cafe for the first time Friday night, kicking off Restaurant Week in Chico. Were a bit put-off to find only a barebones patio (inside dining evidently under construction but hostess told us it wouldn't be done for another year) Several small tables. Very minimal, but clean. But the food made up for the poor first impression. We ordered the$20 chicken piccata to split between the two of us. The waitress kindly split the accompanying Caesar salad and divided the entree into two good sized heated dinner plates. Most delicious food we've had eating out in Chico for a dozen years. The chicken breast was served in lemon and caper sauce accompanied by delicious pasta primavera. It was plenty for our nonagenarian palates. Would encourage all you other elders to overlook the rudimentary setting and try this amazing cooking.“

“Finally made it to one of the top 5 restaurants in town according to the local foodies. Wish the locals had a little more class and had more in their wardrobe besides blue jeans.Moved here in July, and chose it for my birthday dinner. Could never have sat outside in Michigan this time of year. Unfortunately because of all the rain the mosquitoes were worse than a spring in the upper peninsula.Sydney was an excellent waiter.Appetizer was substantial and delicious, l recommend.Beat salad was unique, my late father would have loved.Scallop special was a must, should become a standard.Filet Oscar was larger than expected and perfectly cooked. Bernaise sauce tasted more like hollandaise. Lobster claw was dry, and Oscar is usually crab. Why smash asparagus into whipped potatoes to make a tower? Try laying them like a lean-to.Lava cake and Gelato that tastes like ice cream is to die for. Only noteworthy dessert item by far. Will be back.Parking: In back off the alley. Back door sticks“

Sycamore Tap & Table Beer Bar • $
685 Manzanita Ct, Chico

“The Sycamore Tap & Table is the place for Hilton Gold and Diamond members to get breakfast. Gold and Diamond members receive a $15 breakfast credit for up to two guests. Most of their combos are $!5. They also have a breakfast buffet for We decided to get a French toast for my wife. I got it to go since she doesn't like get out of the room, or bed early in the morning. I came back for the breakfast buffet for $14. The breakfast buffet was a typical hotel buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatos, oatmeal, fresh fruit and breads. I choose the buffet because I couldn't decide which combo I wanted. Everything was cooked in the restaurant fresh. No powdered eggs like at the Residence or Hampton Inn. Service was good. The waitress was nice and attentive. She made sure that my coffee cup was always filled. Sycamore was a good place for breakfast while staying at the Doubletree.“

“The food was inventive and delicious. The bar has great cocktails, the mescal cocktail was unusual and refreshing. Their wine list varied and reasonably priced. Our server and her helpers were friendly and efficient. The place itself is somewhat industrial and the open bar area provides some entertainment as they create their libations. I really liked the mix of music they played. We were probably the oldest people in the restaurant, but the eclectic atmosphere and great food and bar seemed to be appealing to everyone.“

“I have yet to be disappointed with B Street. This business came after we moved away from Chico but we've visited it a handful of times when we've come back to visit. Great atmosphere, nice patio, and delicious menu. I'll give 5 stars for food but 4 stars for service. Server was nice but a little slow and unattentive (a little too relaxed of a vibe on him). That wouldn't be a big deal for me except it was a weeknight and it wasn't busy. Duck fat fries are a must. Be ready to share, even the smaller serving is huge! Tried the trashy tacos on our last trip down and that cheese skirt really lit my fire. Bacon and blue salad had all the fun flavors. I just had wine but I'd love to try some of their fun craft cocktails on our next stop in.“

Argus | Bar + Patio Cocktail Bar • $
212 W 2nd St, Chico

“Look. The bar n patio are lovely and the drink menu nearly as uninspired as gratuitous.However....don't go there if you're not into less than friendly, aloof even, staff who attempt to make themselves appear waaayyy more informed than you when you ask for 2 luxardo marinated cherries and he corrects you by saying TWICE" they're Maraschino Cherries"(Yes. I know.)And I guess don't go there if you want a bartender to recommend libations by promoting their specialties or say... Conversing with the customer...Definitely dont go there if a 10$ tip for 2 drinks is too shabby for even slight eye contact from the bartender.and maybe don't go there if u feel like laughing and don't want to be stared at. I dont know.Maybe just don't go there.I'm likely not as there was nothing impressive about it now 3x, and let's face it. I can't feign disinterest and detachment at that level. HahaThey think they know they're better than us.Au re vours Argus“
