The worst Japanese food ever. Two parties arrived (without reservation) after us seated first. I went there today because I bought 4 gift cards from Costco, but it was a real joke. One order (Sashimi and Sushi) we order was missed but showed up in our bill. It's NOT Japanese food at all. Service is not so great either, but I left generous tip. If you want Japanese food, please go to Big Tuna period!BTW I returned the unused gift cards to Costco right away. No idea how they got 4.5 stars. Maybe different chef in different days? (I was there on Wednesday evening 12/14)

December 19 2022, got a teriyaki salmon, gyoza, the spider, and the pepper fin. The gyoza were good but sauce was weirdly odd. The pepper fin fish was cut too thick to be able to enjoy the fish with the sauce without the fish overtaking the sauce. The teriyaki salmon was thick, sauce was super salty and not sweet at all like how it should be. Can’t even start with thinking if I had gotten the chicken teriyaki and it was salty. The coleslaw didn’t have enough sauce, and then the teriyaki salmon was brought out by an older asian lady waitress who seemed like she didn’t know where the food she was bringing out was going to which table. The Asian waitress was waiting for some type of confirmation before she put the salmon teriyaki down on the table. The unagi sauce on the spider was salty too, no sweetness at all and size of the sushi roll was too big to be bite size. The ratio of rice to the insides were ok. The tables were very close to the other tables and another customer was staring at my partner. No parking, space was crowded with no wheelchair accessibility, the menu didn’t have enough options, and only one vegetarian roll. I spent $82 and was very disappointed. If you want sushi I would recommend going to Genkai by mangrove or rice bowl.

I'm really disappointed in this establishment. The food is terrific and I've come here several times., however the lack understanding when selling your gift cards at Costco to promote business yet deny service is beyond comprehension. We've gone here so much so my friend purchased about $500 dollars worth of gift cards for personal use at Costco. We came out this Monday and there was a sign posted that they were closed due to lack of staff. Okay understandable yet disappointed but the food is good. We made another trip from Magalia tonight because the hours posted were until 9pm. We arrived at 8:20pm and we're turned away but offered take out..what to eat in the car. The manager on staff didn't have the decency to come tell us but sends a young girl to do their dirty work. I was pretty disgusted. If you're going to make that call then come and tell us so we can ask questions. I understand things happen but don't sell your gift cards, if you're going to turn people away and close down and not post hours don't promote your business. Is it shear laziness or are you so financially well off you don't need business? Currently sitting at Raw Bar who also closes at 9pm but happily took us and the place is packed. So we will spend 200 here tonight and return those gift cards if possible. I do not support this establishment especially when trying to spend money in our community to preserve economic community support.

Really good and quick. Tried big tuna once and the waiter never even acknowledged us for a hour and we never got our food and left. So we tried Japanese blossom and it was really good for the price.

I have always loved Japanese Blossoms since I moved to Chico and tried it. Hands down the best Sushi place in town. I know for a fact they utilize the freshest fish and crab as I spoke to the owner about their sourcing. Friendly staff and a modern atmosphere add to the experience. Be prepared to spend some money though as sushi isn't and shouldn't be cheap.Parking: Very tough to find parking as the lot is really small.Wheelchair accessibility: The building is accessible but doesn't have automatic doors

GREAT sushi. Edit: I had only had takeout before which was amazing but dined in tonight and even though there was only one waitress she kicked a$$ on top of that the sushi was fully next level. Tipped her $50 on a little over $100 bill because she was perfect. Also the kitchen kept up with pretty high demand fully within a more than reasonable time frame even though we got an appetozer, 5 separate rolls and two orders of fried ice cream ?? stuff was coming out every ten to fifteen mins max
Lots of money for very little food ,dropped $100 & left hungry. Under cooked tempora and burnt crunchy (cut thr roof of your mouth) Goldie locks roll. Definitely going to skip this place in the future. Server was nice.

This place and their hours are so unreliable. Their website will say one thing, there voice recording says another and then even if the recording says they are open they won't answer the phone to take an order nor can you order online.

Super duper sushi. Best in Chico. Fast service and very friendly. Make sure you make reservations. Always busy.Update - something happened that changed my recent post. The restaurant changed from what I was accustomed to. The interior has been changed so I am assuming their may have been a change in ownership. Service is still on par but I felt the quality of the sushi has changed. I now would change my ⭐ rating to a 4. Also, in the past the place was always packed with needed reservations, now we walked in and were seated right away. Looking around during the visit quite a few tables were empty. I may be wrong but I would think twice next time since for me it's somewhat out of my way. Sorry JP.

Horrible. While I was eating the owner was hard-core making out with his girlfriend, which is already bad enough. But while they were a'smoochin his girlfriends was staring RIGHT AT ME! So disconcerting. Never eating here again, I highly suggest you do the same.
