Good portion size! Really nice customer service! Google maps makes it a little confusing to find it.

Sent a catering question/inquiry to Aimee via text. After a couple days of nothing, I go back to text again and see she has read receipts on and left me on read the same day I texted. I get it people get busy, you forgot to text back, whatever the case may be. Up until now I haven't got a response from her, not that I expect one at this point, but you are running a business and I think to keep it professional a courtesy text or response would have been fine. Since they didn't want my business, I gladly took it elsewhere. JJ's Island Grindz was able to accommodate me and answered all my questions within a timely manner.

I haven't been here in such a long time because the quality just seemed to go down compared to when it first opened.... tried tonight via door dash. everything was dry, teriyaki chicken and Korean chicken... Katsu came with no sauce... just so disappointed

Ordered to go. Korean Chicken - 1st pic: those brown spots are dried out & hard. 2nd pic: Katsu chicken - tasted plain. 3rd pic: battered zucchini- too much batter that zucchini did not stick to it, parts of batter was still raw. The macaroni mayonaise salad tasted plain. 4th pic: $10 wilted salad. We went around 6pm - maybe bad time to go. Maybe the food tastes fresh early in the day

Came here after having weeks of cravings. I've only ever been to the tierrasanta and it was amazing. Came to the Chula Vista location because it was closer even though they didn't have great reviews. I figured how different could it be from the other one. I got the combo with Korean chicken and Kalbi and an order of lumpia. The meat dry and seemed like it had been sitting in the back all day before it got served. The tables were super sticky and the place just looks a bit run down. I don't mind if it's a whole in the wall but the food should at least be good. I don't know if it's just this location but the food was not good. I'll have to go back to tierrasanta to see if they've just lost their touch of if it is just the Chula Vista location. I do not recommend this location.

Definitely will choose this homestyle Hawaiian over any other spot. The flavors are always spot on. Very delicious.

I was recommended to Homestyle Hawaiian for some authentic Hawaiian food. My husband hasn't had chicken katsu in a long time. We ordered 3 plates and some musubis. Two katsu plates and a kalua pig plate. My husband was so deeply disappointed in the katsu. Katsu is a local Hawaiian dish that originally came from the Japanese plantation workers who settled in Hawaii. The name comes from the Japanese dish "tonkatsu". The breading from the katsu was coming off of the chicken and the katsu looked like it wasn't cooked for very long. The kalua pig was subpar at best. Also, the katsu sauce smelled like barbecue sauce and was not at all like the katsu sauce that my husband was used to in Hawaii.I saw a previous review from two months ago that says that this location is no longer owned by the same owners. Maybe that's why the food and overall quality has changed. If you were born and raised in Hawaii or have been a Hawaii resident for a long time, you will understand. Maybe this was just an overall bad experience, but unfortunately I don't think we would be back again when we are in San Diego.

Purchased lunch to go. I ordered the spam musubi and shrimp scampi. These were both very delicious and flavorful. The employees working were very nice and the place definitely gave off Hawaii vibes.

Ordered Teri chicken. Was disappointed. Chicken was very dry. They only sell canned sodas, so no refills on fountain drinks. Tables were very dirty and sticky. Also no soy sauce available. Won't be back. Not worth the long wait.

I am always satisfied when I come to this place. Food is always fresh and always good. The employees are very kind and greet every time you come in. I can't get enough of their Homemade lemonades, aside from the food, that's my one of my favorites.

My first time here today and the service was great greeted by Amy she's so sweet and helpful. The food was good I got 1/2 lava chicken and 1/2 chicken Katsu. The difference between the two is the sauce. I also recommend the fresh squeezed lilikoi lemonade. The ambiance was chill with the island music they have playing.

We frequent this place whenever we're craving Hawaiian plates. I prefer this place over L&L. We always get the Korean chicken, kalua pork, fried spam musubi, & 1lb spicy poke. Everything is always flavorful, especially love their lava sauce & I always try to ask for an extra one to pour over my rice.

I had the Teri Salmon and passion fruit lemonade. Both were really good. The salmon was seasoned well. The lemonade had the perfect amount of sweetness. I will definitely be back
