The food is okay, but not worth waiting the 90+minutes (still waiting) for a couple rolls of sushi. It started as 30 minutes of a wait, then they told me 30 minutes more because they’re extra busy, and THEN another 30 minutes.. and now I’m still waiting. They aren’t even able to serve the walk-in customers at the moment.

My daughter has been using this for years. I ordered yesterday and I am very dissatisfied! Old fish and bad rice! She tried and gave up, said never again this sushi ?!

Horrible service!!! Save your money there are better places.I was the only left inside the resturaunt waiting for my order to go. They told me it was just another 5-10 mins. Well they finished and wrapped my order placed it on the counter but never called my name. Meanwhile they had multiple customers go in and out for to go orders. 30 mins later the lady at the counter walked over to me (the only person in the resturaunt), asked my name and said oh your order is here and its ready. I took it and left. As I drove back I got more upset and decided to call to talk to a manager. The young lady said there was none and there was nothing she could do. She then asked if I was the Uber eats guy and that I was missing a salmon roll and could come back to get it. I said that was not me and I explained that I was upset that I had to get cold food. She said it was because an order got mixed up and that was why I got cold food. She said I can drive back and return the food for a refund. I said it was not my fault that an order got mixed up and now I have to waste my time and gas money to drive back. She said that they can have someone drive over to my place to pick up the food. I was upset and did not like that offer. I said, in a polite yet firm manner, that you are nice person and I understand what you are saying but I dont appreciate that offer and that is why I want to talk to a manager. She got upset and started raising her voice at me saying she was nice and doesnt deserve to be talked to that way. I repeated that I said you were nice but wanted to talk to a manager. She just went off and said that these were the only things she was told to offer. She the said that the manager would be in tomorrow but also started talking over me and interupting me saying uh huh watever and hung up on me.I just wanted to talk to a manager that could handle the situation in a more responsible and respectful manner. Teens these days are too sensitive. I was never rude or mean and never raised my voice. She just couldnt handle the fact that I didnt like her offers and decided to raise her voice and hang up on me.If a manager can reach out to me and help resolve what happened.Sigh : (What a night!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Kaiya Sushi in Chula Vista, and it was truly an outstanding experience. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere. The modern yet cozy decor set the stage for what turned out to be an exceptional meal. The menu at Kaiya Sushi is a testament to their dedication to quality and innovation. Each dish was beautifully presented, showcasing the chef's meticulous attention to detail. The sushi rolls were a work of art, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that burst with flavor in every bite. The creativity in their specialty rolls was evident, and I particularly enjoyed the "Sunset Bliss" roll - a harmonious blend of flavors that left me craving more. The staff at Kaiya Sushi were knowledgeable and attentive, offering recommendations based on our preferences. Their enthusiasm for the cuisine was infectious and added to the overall positive experience. What truly stood out was the commitment to freshness. The sashimi was incredibly tender, and you could taste the quality of the fish. It's clear that Kaiya Sushi prioritizes sourcing the best ingredients, which greatly elevates the dining experience. In addition to the sushi, the menu offers a variety of other Japanese dishes, ensuring there's something for everyone. Whether you're a sushi aficionado or exploring Japanese cuisine for the first time, Kaiya Sushi caters to all palates.

Nice little restaurant hidden in Spring Valley. Good Mexican Mariscos (seafood). The aguachile is delicious and the shrimp taste fresh. Good customer service and the prices are reasonable.

I've been to this sushi place for a couple years now and their baked salmon roll is a favorite. I also enjoy the tempura. I've only done takeout. But the inside is very clean and the cashier is friendly. Recommend!

Presentation- ugly, no effortFood itself - gross, poor qualityOrdered maki plate. Tuna was discolored brown ish . Rolls were very haphazard and some drenched in a sweet sauce like maple syrup , to the point of being disgustingly sweet and inedible . There seems to be some type of ‘tempura’ in one, it has a fried coating yet is raw inside .Red flag 1: no business on a weekend, I was one of the only customers thereRed flag 2: workers are bored and chatting behind counter and scrolling on their phonesI feel a little sick , and threw away half my food. Tried to give this place a chance since it was a local small business, but it’s clear they’re not trying very hard to win their customers. Avoid this, and other sushi restaurants in the otay ranch area because they all suck.

The manager was very rude basically demanding that I either move out of his way while waiting for my order or I had to sit down(I had shown up at the correct time for p/u and then they told me 10 more minutes and it still wasn’t ready) I had been in the car all day and did not feel like sitting and they way he asked if I could move out his way was very rude.. and then told me he would not be making the order and told me I can wait longer.. i then cancelled my order cause he asked me to.. I felt humiliated he treated me like that in front of other customers.

I'm going to be completely honest... The sushi is mediocre at best. There are so many other better places to get your sushi from. Also, if you look at the reviews and the responses that the owner gives other customers on their reviews, UNPROFESSIONAL. Either way, glad I tried it because I'm right down the street and I had always wondered if it was good sushi, glad I know now

It's good overall for this area. Only thing I think would take them into 4.5-5 star review was if they worked on flavoring the rice. It's too plain.I get it, steamed rice but you can flavor it to give it a better experience. The fries oysters were delicious though

Made me sick! I'm the only one that was vomiting the next day and I was the only one who ate the sushi the evening before. It was our first time eating from here and it took me awhile to look over the menu because of all of the choices. Most places will try to help if they see you're having trouble deciding or ask if it's your first time eating sushi and make a recommendation based on your palette. Truthfully, I am quite indecisive on my own and was hoping for a little push, but nothing. I sat right at the front by the register where the cashier was standing. I asked what was the most popular sushi, but eventually ordered the Jessica Alba. When I opened it up the tuna had hints of brown. I don't live far and went straight home so it didn't sit long at all.I threw away the last two pieces to eliminate some risk, but still ended up puking. I knew better and shouldn't have eaten it, but I was so hungry. The lemon pieces on top looked pre-stored and not fresh. The seaweed salad was big, but basic for $7.50. I cut some fresh lemon and orange slices to give it something cause it was giving grocery store. The takoyaki had some hard-chewy octo pieces that I pulled out of my mouth to discard and the inside elements weren't the best in my personal experience. I'm used to the melt in your mouth takoyaki with drizzles and garnish on top to happy it up, but this wasn't that. It came with a dipping sauce that didn't help with anything flavor wise. I won't say I'll never go back because I wanted to try the soups. If I do try some and they aren't hitting either then yeah it's a wrap.

Seafood didn’t seem to be that fresh. Monkey balls and their miso tasted okay. I couldn’t eat their California roll, or special kaiyo roll, recommend scratching your sushi itch somewhere else.
