The food is delicious and there are options for those who do not prefer seafood.Early in the morning it has a family atmosphere but not at night. Ceviche Karinas is the favorite. There is a ceviche that has mango that is delicious, I don't remember the name.Parking: The parking lot in the plaza is very spacious.

Wonderful fresh mariscos and great service. If you're craving ceviche, or a campechana this is the spot. Jasmine was a great server and created a wonderful ambiance.

The food was mediocre at best. We had no condiments on our table nor were we offered any. No chips and salsa, other tables were brought as they sat down. Drinks are refillable, never offered a refill. As I was cashing out with the server she snatched her tip out of my hand. Probably will not return again.

The service at this location is terrible. We waited 20 minutes after being seated to be attended to by a server, another 40 mins for a flight of margaritas just for them to taste straight up like tequila, and when we asked for a new flight, it took them another 20 minutes to serve us the new flight. When we spoke to the manager she was extremely rude and did not show any compassion or concern for our poor service. To top it off, they over charged us for the chips and guacamole we received. They charged us $27 dollars for their house guacamole when the menu says $14. It was a very upsetting experience and I will never be returning back to the restaurant.

Beautiful restaurant, mediocre, over-priced food and drinks, atrocious service. A friend and I visited the restaurant last night for drinks and appetizers and were greatly disappointed. Stale chips and unacceptable drinks. It took 20 minutes for someone to take our order and 47 minutes for us to receive our drinks. It wasn't particularly busy and they were obviously under-staffed. The tension amongst the staff was palpable. We eventually spoke to an ambivalent "manager" who did not apologize and offered us a "discount" and was still trying to over-charge us until I asked to see the receipt before paying. We left to eat at a nearby restaurant where we were served promptly and professional with good food and drinks. Karina's at Otay Ranch Mall has gone seriously down hill. What a shame to our neighborhood. Do better or close your doors for good as the neighborhood deserves a high quality experience for our hard earned money.

First time coming to Karina's and definitely the last. Service was HORRIBLE! My friends and I went to Karina's and told there was a wait time of 30min, pretty typical, especially since we requested for an inside table. Then we got a text saying our table was ready after about 40 min of waiting, which is normal. However, upon meeting with the hostess, she told us they were still preparing our table and had to wait an additional 20 min. Not only did we have to wait, but they said they couldn't seat us inside, when we requested to sit inside. We only agreed to sit outside because we were hungry. To me, why tell us that our table is ready, when it wasn't, and then have sit somewhere, where we didn't even request. After we were seated, we were greeted by our waitress a few minutes later, who asked us for our drink order, we ordered our drinks. Then upon our drink arrival, we ordered our food. Good thing we did because after we ordered our food, we pretty much never saw her again. We ordered the tableside guacamole, which didn't arrive until we were finished with our entrees, so we told them we didn't want it anymore. Lucky for the table next to us because they ordered one as well, so they just gave ours to them. Had we not returned it, they probably would've had to wait 45 min for that appetizer as well. As far as our entrees went, my friend ordered the ceviche, and when we asked for utensils so he can eat it, they never gave it to us. We had to go to the bar to get our utensils and napkins. Maybe they don't do it at Karina's but normally when you order ceviche, it comes with chips. He did not get any chips, we also asked for some and never received any. Not only that, we saw that there were multiple servers just standing around. Now I normally don't complain about long wait times because it is understandable if they were short staff, but like I said before multiple servers standing around. Not even an apology for why we never got what we asked for so we can eat our food. Anyways, the food was bland, and definitely not worth for what we had to endure. The only thing that didn't take long was when we asked for our check and even then, they tried to charge us for the tableside guacamole that we never received.

The ingredients in the campechana seemed fresh and liked that it didn't have clamato (other places add some). Overall, the campechana tasted good but nothing out of this world. We received our food in a timely manner, and the waitress was attentive, but the uniform worn made her look un-professional since it was very revealing. One last thing worth mentioning is that this restaurant is pricier than other mariscos places I've been to and overpriced for the taste.

Wonderful food! Jasmine was a lovely server! She made sure to periodically check on our table and was quickly at our service. Such a great experience, we'll be back soon :)

Been here several times but this one was different. Came here for V-Day dinner with my family, wasn't too packed but chose to sit outside for immediate seating. It was cold so I asked if they can turn on the heaters (took 20 mins and asking several other employees). The way it was taking for our server to make an appearance we gave our drinks, appetizer and food order at once. Once the food came out I had to wait another 10 mins to get utensils and to top it off we were only given one set so I wiped mine off to let my daughter use my fork. My husband got a cocktail so with that spoon he used it to feed our toddler his meal, I was baffled at this point. Once we asked for the bill, that was the longest we had our server stand at our table (not exaggerating). We still tipped 18% but I honestly wished we tipped to the service and not the bill. Asked for a box and we waited few mins before I went inside and asked someone else to help. I'm sorry Martha U, but I do hope this isn't an experience you present with other customers.

The service was very good, the food was decent, just way overpriced for what it was. We wont be back.
