Unfortunately, this is no longer a Rice King (now Thai Fresh, I believe).

I adore this place! They provide sensational meals, their menu is large, The chief cook in that restaurant is well trained, I like a lot tasting all their dishes. The dishes are always good, the service towards the guests is helpful. I often go to this place and I was never unsatisfied. Highly recommended.

A decent Korean food spot that also serves Chinese food in south bay. The owners are Korean and I wish they'd advertised this spot as Korean rather than a generic name such as Rice King because I only found out they served Korean food through yelp! The owners are extremely welcoming and kind and provide impeccable service. I've rounded this review up from 3.5 to 4 due to the service alone. The soondubu (soft tofu stew) was good but was a bit too mild in flavor and spice compared to what I'm used to. This could be since we came in towards the end of the day but I think they could benefit from just really kicking up the spice and flavor (sadly, it felt a bit watered down). The wings are huge and tasty. I like that you can order a variety of appetizers at an affordable price. Overall, I would return to explore more of the menu and give the soondubu another try if I was in the area.

I loveloveloved their Korean food here! I always came for tofu soup with kimchi and bulgogi. Unfortunately, they closed 11/26/19, and the location will be a new Thai Fresh restaurant. I'm really, really sad that they'll no longer be around when I need some kimchi soondubu jjigae!

A nice place to have Korean food. You can still have Chinese if that's what you're looking for but I highly recommend Miss Judy's Korean dishes.

First time eating at Rice King and wow! I went in with the expectation that this was another fast Chinese spot; however, the food was so delicious and the hospitality we received from Judy just made it all the better! We weren't planning on eating in but some how we found ourselves seated at a table haha... my fiancé and I love to order a little of everything when we try new spots so we ordered: gyoza, 10 chicken wings (his idea), chow mein, bulgolgi, tofu soup w/ egg, and chicken teriyaki. It's not a huge menu but definitely has a great selection. Everything was so good - and the portion sizes left us feeling full even though we shared most of the meals. Judy was such a peach not only in our interactions but just watching her with other guests was impressive - she makes you feel like a long time customer even if it was your first time. Definitely will be back!

The lady was so sweet! We talked about kimchi for like 5 minutes. Korean food is so bomb and it was a pleasant surprise getting bulgogi all the way over in chula vista! Thanks so much for the awesome experience

This place caught my attention because I love tofu. My intention was to hopefully go in and order a bowl with veggies and tofu over rice. I came out with a tofu soup and bowl of rice. The soup was recommended by a very sweet lady there that picked up rather quickly that I am a vegan. She had the tofu soup made special for me to fit my dietary needs. I appreciate how helpful and attentive she was and the soup she had recommended was delicious! I definitely wouldn't mind coming back if I'm ever in the area again

Stopped by on a weekday evening, just a couple other customers stopped in while we were there. It's a small place, clean, with a few tables.

One of the best Korean place to go! You will meet the sweetest owner and she always recognizes my voice when I order every time to go. Great food so please check Rice King out!

Stopped by on a weekday evening, just a couple other customers stopped in while we were there. It's a small place, clean, with a few tables. They have a few items on display ready to eat that includes the Chinese part of their menu (orange chicken, teriyaki, and noodles). They recently began serving Korean items (bbq and soups) which is prepared in the kitchen. Unfortunately, the items on display weren't that great. It lacked in flavor and freshness. However, the Korean dishes we ordered were pretty decent. I got bibimbap and I was satisfied. It had it's usual veggies and rice, served with hot sauce. Others in our group got spareribs which was piled high and served with its usual sides. It was a bit pricey though. But the sweet and spicy wings were a good deal (5pcs for $3.50) and were pretty good. I'd be willing to come back for their Korean food, but it's a pass on their displayed foods. The lady behind the counter was very friendly and checked up on us several times.

Been here twice and had food delivered from them twice. The korean food here is the bomb! The owner is also so so nice! She gives this establishment a touch of love that makes the food taste even better! She's always accommodating and the food speaks for itself. Our favorites are all of the Tofu soups and the Kbbq Kalbi which is very tender!

This place is one of the best kept secrets in Chula Vista. They're technically a fast food Chinese chain, but the owners are Korean and sell some really awesome Korean food that is definitely NOT fast food. It's made fresh, authentic, and with generous portions. The bulgogi, Kalbi, and tofu soup are excellent and rival any other Korean restaurant in the area. And to top it off, the couple that runs the place (Judy and Todd) are extremely friendly and accommodating. If you're looking for Korean food, this really is one of the best places in the area.

This is a great place to get chicken and fried rice. Located across the street from Bonita Vista high school and Southwestern College and East Chula Vista, I have always had great experiences and great meals here at this location. The food is freshly made. It is delicious and tasty. The employees are really nice and friendly. Very fast service.
