I stopped buying from here because they could never make the drinks right, there always super rude. The last time I visited to buy a drink because everything else wouldn't accept card, the person that was making the drinks was on the phone talking about her day, and in the end messed up my drink. If I was caught on my phone at work I would get in trouble big time. Not acceptable. That is why I go to Jason's Courtyard Cafe way better!

3 stars because my friend surprised me with a coffee earlier this morning before class and told me she bought it from the school's café. I needed more cream so assuming it was this café because we were closed to this one when she handed it to me, I went in to add a little more cream in my coffee. An older woman working the register confronts me exclaiming I can't just come in and pour cream because my coffee isn't from their place (Understandable). Although politely, I said my friend just got me a coffee from here and all I needed was a tiny bit of cream. The woman then proceeded in a condescending and rude tone telling me No, that's not our coffee, we have a different cup and you can't do that. Realizing my mistake, and noteing my friend most likely may have bought my coffee from the café across from this one, I quickly apologized and asked politely if I can still just pour a tiny bit of cream from the self serve cream station, (instead of walking all the way up to the other café and being late for class). The woman then let me pour my tea spoon of cream but not before aggressively tell me that "we" usually charge for cream, and we will charge you next time (but why would I even go to their café again for cream?) I completely understand I was using cream for my coffee from a café I didn't purchase a coffee from (which is something I would have never done in the first place) and I guess it was generous of her to let me pour my tea spoon of cream into my coffee even though it wasn't from there. But for the woman to create a small argument over a small amount of cream, and her confronting me with such a condescending tone over cream (especially when a person showing nothing but politeness), it seems a bit much and a waste of time. As is this long yelp review. I would just like the manager to see this in order to remind their staff to practice being decent and kind towards one another, considering it's college campus, and we are all just trying to get through the school day.
I totally miss this place since I came back to Arizona. I Rave and suggest this place to any of my friends who go into Honolulu for a visit.

Great Coffee, Terrible Person. In the mood for a fresh pastry or delicious cup of coffee? THIS IS YOUR PLACE! In the mood to get gawked-at, drooled-over and sexually harassed? THIS IS YOUR PLACE! The old b****** who runs this charming little cafe specializes in both brewing excellent coffee AND making women extremely uncomfortable. While you wait for your order, he'll take the opportunity to undress you with his eyes while doing questionable things with his hands behind the counter. Not a fan of being treated like a sexual object? Then I'd suggest the other coffee stand across campus. It's a bit of a walk, but you're less likely to have a weiner waved at you by a creepy old fat guy who looks like Radar from MASH. Strong Coffee with a rapey-vibe.
