It's like a small version of the chipotle restaurant. The carne asada burrito bowl is good :)

Delicious food, large portions, very reasonable prices.

This may be the worst food I have ever tasted. How do you charge $10+ for a burrito that has absolutely no flavor?! I really try to support mom and pops shops, especially new ones, but I had to throw the burrito away after 3 bites.... The steak was chewy, rice was dry, and it was tiny! I was super excited for this spot and I am extremely disappointed. They compare themselves to chipotle when you walk in, but boy did they miss. If you enjoy authentic Mexican food, this is not the place for you.

The food was fresh and flavorful. The owner was very nice and explained everything well. He had just made a fresh batch of guacamole and went out of his way to serve me it. You can tell they care about the customers and the food they are serving. If you are thinking of eating at Chipotle or somewhere similar, try them instead. I will definitely be back!

I wish I could give them a 3.5 Tonight was my second time getting food there. My first experience was really good. I got a burrito bowl with carnitas and a melon juice. I tried their chips and salsa as well. All yummy ad service was great. 2 guys were there. Tonight I wanted to surprise my bf with dinner I go in an order 2 burrito bowls. I asked for half carnitas half steak for both. There were a few girls working there. The girl uses tongs and puts the tiniest amount of Carnitas in each bowl then 1 1/2 little scoops of steak. I was a little surprised by the quantity of meat. I mentioned this to her and she said " We are instructed to give you 1 1/2 scoops of meat. That's all." It was a weird response. How about... I'm sorry, this is our normal quantity of protein, your welcome to add more for $... ( I know they have *add on meat* on the menu, I just didn't see it until after she made that comment). It seemed like it was just a little scoop of everything...... Then I asked for chips and I assumed it would come with salsa (like it did the last time I was there) and she didn't put any salsa in the bag, which I only noticed when I got home. When I looked in the bag of chips there were about 10 chips in there. The little bag was less than half full. It was a weird interaction and although I think the quality of the food is very good (the steak and carnitas were super yummy), they need to ensure consistency with the way they make their food and treat their customers. It was such an odd interaction. It made me feel un-welcomed and had I not already been there once, possibly not want to return. She literally glopped a bunch of sour cream in the middle of my bowl and did the opposite for the other. It was so weird. I know they are new (why I gave them a 4 vs 3 stars) and probably have some kinks to work out. Food a 5/5 Customer service 3/5 I hope they take the opportunity to listen to customer feedback because I would love to see this place survive :)

I really wanted to like this place, it's close to home and I love good Mexican food. I wanted to be fair so I gave it two chances prior to posting a review. First and foremost, I feel like the place is over priced. With multiple very good, very affordable Mexican food restaurants within a couple miles, the food needs to be on point if you're going to change $10.50 for a vegetarian burrito. And, in this case it's not. On both visits I was disappointed with the chewy tortillas (straight out of a bag), and the lack of refried beans (a key ingredient in most Mexican restaurants). I had hoped to find something original but the opinions here are very basic and run-of-the-mill. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and although I'm used to paying for the meat even know I don't receive, or eat it, in this case it added "salt to the wound" to charge an extra $2.50 for guacamole. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that I half the food cost when omitting the meat, so it seems ridiculous to then charge me $2.50 more to replace the meat with avocado. Worse, during my second visit I discovered they offer grilled veggies as a possible ingredient for a "veggie burrito", I wasn't even offered veggies on my first visit! The veggies are covered, so out of sight, I had no idea they were available. I only discovered them on my second visit because the person in front of me happened to request them. Overall the food is mediocre, the restaurant is clean and nice, employees were helpful but weren't overtly outgoing and it's overpriced for the quality.

The burrito bowl is pretty good the only thing the only thing I would change is the portion it's very skimpy other than that very good... I forget to mention good customer service was greeted with a smile..

So I really likes this place very clean and organized. We were greeted by two staff members that were really sweet and let us know about the different foods. The meat choices was steak chicken or shredded pork. My family all had burritos. But I decided on the salad with pork. That was a hooked up salad. I got pork, lettuce, corn, pico de gallo, green salsa, cheese and sour cream. And all these were also in the burrito. Although my son got guacamole. All was made in front of us kinda like subway makes their sandwiches. So right before we left they had agua fresca. Which is fresh fruit water or freshly squeeze juice . They had a variety from pineapple, horchata, orange juice and my fave pepino - lima (cucumber and lime). OMG soooo good . But not sugar free. So my husband had me try it and my son got the fresh pineapple juice. Both were good but the cucumber one had me going to the store and make my keto version. I am hooked!!! This place is a 20 min walk from my house. I know what I'll be doing weekly. My kids all love fresh fruit! This is a perfect excuse to walk. Oh and since i was so hungry no pics!! Sorry We will be back

This place is great. Stopped in just to check it out two weeks ago. I have been back three times since. The food is great and the service is awesome . I've been helped by different people everytime and everyone was polite and patient. I highly recommend this place if you are thinking of trying it.

Delish burrito and super friendly staff. The steak is where it's at!! Way better flavor than Chipotle but similar fast casual vibe. They also have fresh fruit with chamoy and agua frescas-- yum!

Just stopped by Fuego Mexican Kitchen on the way home and grabbed a burrito. The burrito was amazing. The carnitas were tender, moist and flavorful! The other ingredients were also fresh and tasty. The guacamole was also super fresh. They also have great fruit drinks and agua fresca! I had an orange and pineapple fruit drink. Amazing! This place is the bomb and the owners are friendly and accommodating. A great experience all around. Check it out soon. You will be happy you did! Kimber

My wife had a carnitas burrito bowl which was very good except the carnitas was a little dry; however, it was better than most Mexican restaurants. I had the chicken taco (3 taco's) which was excellent! We will definitely come back here for lunch or dinner.

Wow. This place is great!! Super friendly service and super high quality food. I'm not gonna lie. I've never been to Mexico so I really don't know what truly "authentic" burritos taste like but Fuego's burritos are 5-star in my book. Right down the road from my house too. Looks like I have a new go-to burrito joint. Not sure why they don't offer nachos. I almost deducted a star for that but their burritos are too good to deduct anything!! Everyone in Citrus Heights should give this place a try and support your local business. I hear they're owned by the same people who own that AMAZING Mediterranean restaurant next-door. Keep up the good work guys!
