Can’t say enough good things about this place. We were absolutely stoked to see an Ethiopian restaurant so close to us we took the vegan for two meal to go along with veggie sambusas, iced spice tea, and the house honey wine. Portions looked perfect, until we were stuffed and it looked like we hadn’t even made a dent! No complaints about leftovers! Spice level was perfect, and everything was so flavorful. They gave us tons of injera to eat everything with. Like other reviewers, I was not prepared for just how good the tea was going to be. Words don’t do it justice, I would stop by just for tea. The honey wine is really good, especially with the food. However, it’s not like any mead I’ve had; it was a little vinegary, which I kind of liked. Probably not for everyone though. Kitchen is nut free, and they claim to be able to accommodate many dietary restrictions; tons of veggie/vegan options. Go to this restaurant now!

This is a hole in the wall joint but authentic. I love the beef with a little spice with rice and greens that I had. The traditional bread is good but I think it will be more of individual taste. The tea was great after a good meal. Overall deff will return and the staff is super sweet and welcoming.

Great food with nice portions. Attentive and friendly service. Exceptional dining experience. The iced Ethiopian spice tea is off the chain.

I am a big fan of Gursha Ethiopian and would love them even more if they could have a protein on the lunch buffet: The majority of customers are carnivores and they should have chicken drumsticks or spicy tofu as options, and you would be able to justify the $18 price tag. It's a great deal with the Groupon ($12 for $15, sometimes $9 for $15), you can buy them more than once! The chicken awaze has the right amount of spices and heat, and I always get rice instead of injera, and the mixed greens.

Great to see another Ethiopian restaurant in the metro area. Stopped by for a late lunch and found it enjoyable. I've been to several Ethiopian restaurants over time and the food here was as good as if not better than others I've had before. The staff was also friendly and accommodating. Price was as you would expect for any restaurant these days but not overly expensive and well priced I Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting looking for delicious Ethiopian food.Vegetarian options: Vegan/vegetarian buffet is offered Monday/Thursday. Lots of options spiced as expected.Parking: It's a strip mall. Of course there's parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Location is in more recent strip mall. While it has the typical problem of a wandering convoluted path to the door. Location is fully wheelchair accessible.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL Ethiopian food. I’ve had Ethiopian food for years and can easily say it’s some of the best I’ve ever had. You can tell it’s made with love. My mom and I ordered it two days in a row and are now considering three ?? it’s truly amazing, and I will definitely have it again (potentially this week lol) Thank you!!

Excited to have an Ethiopian restaurant closer to home. I usually have to drive to Sac from Placer County. I ordered take out online today for lunch. The lady who greeted me when I walked in was very welcoming and answered all my questions. The restaurant was clean. The portion size was bigger than I expected. I appreciated that they separated certain parts of my order, like the cottage cheese and each of the lentils. I highly recommend the Doro Wat (chicken), Kay Sire (beets and potatoes) and Misr Wot (Red Lentils). They were delicious! Will be back for sure.

I went here because of all the hype. Everything tasted so bland and lacking flavor. Granted I am a vegetarian but I do not think I'll return back. I came with a few other friends and they felt the same ( and they were meat eaters). We all prefer Indian over this.

We are new to Ethiopian food and found it interesting, fun, and tasty. I enjoy spicy food and their medium spice level was nice without going crazy. The service was great and the premises seemed clean and cared for.

We are frequent guests at the other Ethiopian places in Sacramento, but this may now be the best! Kind staff, delicious food!

I have been hoping for many years that we would have more Ethiopian restaurants options in the Sacramento area. When this restaurant popped up I was so excited and Gursha did not disappoint! We ordered the delish combo and the quanta fifir. Both were delicious but the highlight for me and my husband was the quanta firfir. We plan to come back many more times.
