Came later at night and the staff was very friendly and professional. The food was absolutely amazing and reasonably priced for the portions, also the selection of different foods is fantastic.

This is a cozy, friendly serving good American fair neighborhood restaurant. And they serve some Indian dishes in a decorated fifties ambiance.

Should have listened to our intuition when there were zero cars in the parking lot at 12:30pm. Then again upon walking in and seeing tons of cardboard boxes piled up against a wall....whole place looked dirty and unkempt. Thought it was supposed to be a cute diner, but not one bit. The woman who sat us. Placed us at an awkward round table with 1 chair and a corner area booth so the 3 of us were awkwardly sitting. The woman who sat us and took our drink order, and ultimately took our dishes away was very quiet and cold....not really a welcoming service person on top of the overall odd atmosphere. There is no indication anywhere outside that this is also an Indian cuisine restaurant. So if you didn't know, now you do.The food came out fast and as ordered, it was hot....just not good quality. They definitely skimp cost and go for for cheap, nasty ingredients for the American cuisine (unsure about the Indian one). Between the 3 of us who ordered we had a breakfast plate, an appetizer and a hot sandwich. At least half of the items were freezer items that were either microwaved or fried in oil. Around 1pm, "regulars" seemed to pour in....they were all sat on the opposite side of the restaurant- literally everyone. After reading the comments on here it was said that there may be some issues with racism or prejudiceness. Well, I will say that every customer who walked in was white.......the 3 of us were also white but we clearly were not regulars. One of the regulars even brought her loud meowing cat in the restaurant to sit at the booth with her and her partner. WOW. Health and safety much? Anyway.....it felt like we were in the twilight zone, it was dirty, I honestly felt like we should have left upon walking in but we didn't. Needless to say, within 30 minutes of leaving, 2 of the 3 of us were RUNNING to the bathroom......NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

AnG National Critics

AnG stopped to grab lunch on the way home from our weekend getaway, and Rosie sounded great. Don't get us wrong. The people are so kind. It seems family run, and it was moderately busy, but gosh, it was pretty mid. A had a chicken melt on Sourdough, and it was pretty good with fries. That's all the good news we have. We ordered some fried zuccini. It was way too bready. G just peeled off the breading and ate the zuccini. G had a half turkey sandwich and chicken noodle soup. The soup had a "buttery" taste to G, and she wasn't able to eat it. Her turkey sandwich was okay but would have preferred the bread toast. Overall, AnG thought the staff was friendly, and maybe we just didn't have a good experience because, as I said, there was a fairly good crowd. We did see their milkshakes at another table, and those looked great! So, maybe we just chose wrong. BTW, they had an entire section of the menu devoted to Indian cuisine, so ifvyou go after 3 pm, and enjoy Indian, Rosie's might be your kind of place.

I visit the Sacramento area a few times a year, and this place has become our group's go to since we found it last year. Good food, reasonably priced, and there is always someone coming around to check on drinks and such.

This is my second time enjoying breakfast at this cute cafe; each time the breakfast was remarkable. My daughter and granddaughters thought the pancakes and waffles were stellar (my wife also thought the pancakes were exceptional a week later when we next visited). The menu has great variety, and there truly is something for everyone. The place is very clean with a slight "old-time" ambiance with nice little booths and a larger dining area too.The service is superb...the prices are fair, the place is quaint, the food delicious, and the staff very efficient and gracious...How could you go wrong?

Family run low budget diner like stepping back to the 50s. My wife and I were the only people here at 5:30 on a Sunday night. Service was great but the food was mediocre. My ribeye steak, ordered medium, was well done and tough. The decor is interesting and we would eat here again, but I would not order a steak or anything else that is ruined by overcooking.

Authentic real food and family run. Jesse and staff make you feel at home and the pancakes are the best in town. I've been personally eating there for 20 plus years.
