It’s honestly a trek when you have to drive almost two hours from one side of town in Pasadena…. to be on the other side of town to get boba at Half & Half Tea House, in Rowland Heights (technically City of Industry but oh well, it doesn’t matter at this point). I’ve heard many good things about this place, especially with the recommendations my friends gave me, so when I was in SoCal this time around, I KNEW I had to give this place a try for it’s buck.I was NOT disappointed at all. In fact, I was AMAZED at how they made their drinks. Not only were they cheap for their price, but everything came out to a decent price. Here’s my take:

Food/I got the fresh milk tea with honey, boba, and pudding. When I say this to you… the boba at Half & Half Tea House was absolutely delicious. The tapioca pearls were FRESHLY cooked, with just the right amount of chewiness. The fresh milk tself was rich and creamy, with a perfect balance of sweetness as I requested to give them. I could tell that they used high-quality ingredients in their drinks, as the flavors were so fresh and vibrant. Each sip was like a little taste of heaven. Not only was the boba incredible, but the service at Half & Half Tea House was also top-notch. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to answer any questions or make recommendations. They made sure that my order was prepared exactly how I wanted it, and even offered to customize it further if needed. The atmosphere in the store was warm and inviting, despite the fact I went in 15 minutes before they closed LOL.will say that the atmosphere wasn’t always the best, but they did have a lot of leeway so you could take your pictures on top of the table and post it for your IG or TikTok.Overall, my experience at Half & Half Tea House was fantastic. The combination of amazing boba and exceptional service made for a truly memorable visit. The next time that I’m in SoCal, I will definitely be returning to try more of their delicious drinks in the future. If you're a fan of boba tea, this place is a must-visit!Wheelchair accessibility: It is pretty friendly, but just be careful because they do have a ramp —

Half and half is pretty well known in the 626 area which is why I decided to try it. Looking at the menu, there were way too many choices so I went for one of the top drinks. There also weren't any prices on the menu so I didnt know how much until I paid, which turned out to be around $7. The drink itself is decent, but it's nothing special since I can get the same drink somewhere else with a better quality. So unfortunately it won't be a boba place that I frequent.

Came here last night and it was quiet. Haven't been here in maybe a year or 2. When I pass through Roland I try to stop here because it's the first boba place I've tried with big cups. Ordered a strawberry milk tea with boba and it was cool they had a free upgrade promo. Boba was chewy, tea was tasty.

Stumbled on this place after eating Korean bbq nearby. First noticed a steady stream of people. Not the type of people looking for hype but people who drink tea and know what's good. I ordered an unsweetened green tea and it was just oversteeped but flavor was good. The staff was friendly and I like the story behind this place and the woman who started it. I'll be back.

It's an express so there's nowhere to sit indoors. The menu is extensive but has no prices on it until you check out. Currently they have a weekday deal for a free upgrade to the Super size from 25oz to 33 oz.I tried their almond milk black tea which is made with a syrup. Maybe it was the combination with grass jelly and honey boba toppings that made it not as appetizing. The Honey Boba was ok in texture...not the softest Id like. For more helpful SoCal food and travel tips, IG: @grace.loves.adventures

Located in a busy restaurant/shopping center with plenty of parking. This small boba shop is one of my favorites! Their drinks are a great size and so worth it. They have slushy ice that pairs perfectly with their milky, creamy drinks. I really appreciate the extensive menu and options for toppings! We brought our family and friends here and everyone was able to find something they wanted to try on their menu. We went around 7pm on a Friday and there was a bit of a wait to order (~15min), but the line went quickly. There's no seating in the shop, but there are some tables and chairs outside.

This chain came much recommended but i was not impressedPros: The boba itself was very chewy and the right sweetness. Ample parking in this plaza compared to other plazas on Colima Rd. amazingly large menu with clear delineation of which drinks are caffeine free.Cons: Opens later than many other chains.I was second in line for the day, but still waited 15 minutes for my order (they called 3 people after me, and I had to ask. Apparently my order was ready except the two drinks of my order were placed separate from each other and they forgot to call.)I got osmanthus milk tea at 25% sweet but it seemed a little too sweet. Another member of my party got the strawberry yogurt smoothie but it tasted more watery than i would expect and couldn’t taste any tartness or creaminessthat i would expect for a yogurt drink - it rather almost tastes like a slush.Maybe i’ll try again in future and go for 0% sweet and a different fruit smoothie. But was not impressed this time

I can't give a several star rating for this spot. The hours that were posted indicated that they should be open but when we came over they were closed. I'm not sure what happened but maybe it was one of those fluke kind of things. The parking lot was full even in front of the shop but there was nobody to be found inside. Hmm. . . odd.

Half and half has a wide variety of drinks to select from. This location is small and can form a long line when it's busy. The drinks are good, I especially like the pudding that can be added as a topping. Almond Milk Green Tea w/ Pudding Rose Green Milk Tea w/ Boba and Grass Jelly

Came here for the first time and impressions were pretty spot on. The ambiance of the place gave a nostalgia old vibe or sorts, and it was a comfort place to just pass time in. I got the peach tea with boba and takoyaki. The service was nice, as it was my first time and I didn't know that they gave a free upgrade on size if you get a topping. The cashier who helped me was friendly and gave helpful suggestions. Will definitely come again.

there's no reason to hate this place legitimately. their entire menu has a large selection of drinks to choose from that you can't go wrong with. the interior is really small, not a place to really sit down and enjoy your drink unless it's outside the plaza. the service is quick and kind to deliver any questions you might have about the drinks. they usually have a special where you can upgrade your drink to a large for free. who says no to a free large drink upgrade? cmon now. their taro pudding is unique and tastes amazing paired with some drinks! good tasting drinks, consistency of their boba is nice and chewy, service is attentive, prices aren't bad. a staple of a boba shop, and never fails to impress customers.

I don't believe any of the reviews that say this place's milk tea lacks tea flavor. I have no idea what they're talking about!!! To be fair though, I've only ever had their milk tea with honey boba and pudding, but my point still stands!! The milk tea I got had plenty of flavor. It was delicious, and pretty sweet. I think even if you like sweet things, you'd still be pretty satisfied with a 75% sweetness level, it's what I'll consider getting next time I'm here. That being said I don't think 100% is overly sweet, but definitely enough. Their boba is great! Chewy, and soft, and sweet, but not in a way that makes the drink overpowering. The pudding is also really tasty! Soft, creamy, and sweet. Works well with both the milk tea and boba. I try to avoid getting multiple toppings in by teas because I feel like it can be overwhelming of the flavors and textures can clash, but the pudding and boba mesh well. I also ordered the milk tea sea salt latte with coffee jelly. They give you a free upsize as well!! It was a summer special, but it looks like it'll be carrying on into fall which is a major plus in my book. Wish it was closer to me so I could take advantage of this more often. Interior is small and a bit cramped, but nice. The wooden interior design of the place gives it a cozy feeling. there's plenty of benches as well. Definitely a step up from a generic boba shop. Cashiers here have always been really kind and friendly as well! Will be back to try other items, if I manage to break away from their standard milk tea!
