I just love this place. The manager is just terrific, she is sweet, kind, and amazing. They are a small restaurant, but everything comes out with love and is delicious. We also order about 5 bags of frozen XLB anytime we are in town to visit family. The food, people make this place 10 stars!

You should give this place a try when visiting Rowland Heights. Food is decent and the price is pretty good. The owner is nice. My family likes this place.

Unbelievable, They are still using this type of disposable packaging, and there's a burnt hole on it. I noticed it only after having had quite a bit of the meal. It was a terrible experience. The hygiene awareness at the restaurant is concerning. They only provided a basic refund, and there wasn't even an apology.

In town for an event and a friend recommended this restaurant. The husband is from Shanghai so he was assigned to order. We had green scallion fried fish, Spring rolls, Shanghai smoked/deep-fried fish, and a special cured pork. All were delicious. Hubby said everything tasted like his mom's cooking except the fried fish. At the end, we had delicious complimentary sesame sticky rice balls in fermented sweet rice egg drop soup for dessert.

Not fancy, just good home style Shanghainese cooking at reasonable prices. None of the dishes we ordered had any filler, just like how my family would make it at home. Yum!

3 - 4 stars for the Ambiance. We enjoyed having dinner on a Saturday night. To our surprise, this place gets pretty crowded and there is a wait if you come after 6 pm. The restaurant is dated, and tables/chairs have seen better days. Decor is old, and plates used are of traditional Chinese design. The staff were pretty friendly. We ordered our food and the we didn't have to wait long for the dishes to start arriving our table. The dishes are very well portioned and generous. All the dishes we ordered tasted very good. They had the door open and to my surprise, I saw that this plaza is fairly dirty. At one point, I saw a rat crawl into the restaurant and then went out of the restaurant. Crazy!!!!! This plaza is pretty old so I guess their sewer system is also old/dirty. Overall the restaurant serves very good authentic Chinese food with very reasonable prices.

3.5 stars but rounding up bc of the great service plus we didn't order the popular items. We stumbled upon this random Shanghainese hole in the wall in Rowland heights offering an array of Shanghainese dishes at wallet friendly prices. The standout however was not the food, rather the top notch service, which is rare at these types of establishments. While our selection veered away from the popular menu items, what we did order left us with a mixed but generally average impression. Here's the rundown: - Xiao Long Bao (3/5): Decent, though the once rotund buns were deflated by the time we dug in - Shanghainese Stir Fry (3/5): A light veggie-packed dish featuring bamboo shoots, pork, and celery--an apt choice for our vegetable cravings. - Fried Green Beans (3/5): A classic done right; you can't go wrong with the traditional appeal. - Pork Ribs in Sweet Sauce (4/5): A highlight of the meal with deep-fried pork ribs drenched in a luscious sweet sauce. Tasty, though a touch of vinegar or acidity could elevate it to a solid 5/5. - Beef Noodle Soup (2/5): Unfortunately, not their forte. It lacked depth and richness, leaving it a bit flat in the beef noodle soup arena. The unsung hero of this spot is the service. Our waitress was next-level thoughtful and attentive, embodying the nurturing essence of a Chinese mom ensuring you stay warm and well-fed. This exceptional service earned an extra star in my book. While our food choices might not have fully showcased the restaurant's prowess, the outstanding service is reason enough for us to consider a return visit. If we venture into the popular menu items next time, I'll update this review.

Ordered to go and food was ready in 20 min. Reasonably priced with big portions. Braised pork was a bit hard but sauce was pretty good. Shredded beef with pepper was flavorful. Soup and rice cake were on the lighter side. My favorite was definitely the walnut shrimp. They added some wasabi in it so it was unique and delicious.

Didn't want to ruin my family's mood, so I didn't get to take any photos. Therefore I will try my best to remember everything I had, the food was really good. It's definitely one of the best Shanghainese cuisines I had in awhile. It might be bland for strong salt liking customers- but it's was perfect for me. Flavorful dishes, not overly sweet or extremely salty. Well balanced. It's a small restaurant, 6 small tables (2-4 people) and 3 medium tables (5+). Recommended: Shanghai Style Braised Pork in Brown Sauce Vegetable with Bean Curb Sheet Pork Meat Ball Casserole Fish with Seaweed Shanghai Steamed Pork Buns *Salted Pork belly/Vegetable/Tofu Soup Complimentary black sesame rice ball (mini size but good filling) dessert soup at the end if you pay cash.
