I've been going here for years and this place does not disappoint! The food is fresh and prepared perfectly. The restaurant is small and offers outdoor seating with fire pits. The service is great and the food is amazing. I ordered the firecracker wontons, baked yellowtail collar and cucumber crab salad, all my favorite dishes. Parking isn't too convenient but not that bad. I would definitely recommend this place, the freshness and quality of food is excellent.

Usually I go to a Japanese place in Upland but we decided to try this restaurant after a break of several years.Certain menu items were excellent. The tempura was delicious. Sashimi was fresh and tasty. Side salad was good.Other items, not so good. The calamari was tough and chewy. The teriyaki chicken, what both my wife and I ordered, was overcooked and just plain bad. We barely touched it.The biggest drawback was the proximity of adjacent tables. So close it is hard to have a conversation without including them. It is a small space but still.Note to self for next time: do not order the teriyaki chicken and maybe get the food to go.

I have eaten here for dinner two or three times and have been impressed. Today, after having steered my lunch companion away from her idea of hitting Sushi Oni just up the street, I had hoped that Kazama would really be on top of their game. They generally hit high marks, but there remains room to improve. All tables were in use when we arrived, so we sat at the sushi bar. I am old and grumpy and pretty much loathe technology, and this loathing has grown recently with the elimination of paper menus. Thanks so much for plastering a sticker for accessing a menu through a QR code (directly in my forward field of vision for the entire meal). Frankly, messing with my phone (something I'd prefer was not part of my lunch experience) did, at least, take my mind off the fact that we weren't offered a drink order for 10 minutes after we'd sat.Orders taken, good advice given, and food arrived as promised. Our sushi rolls were good, if a little uninspired, and she praised her seafood ramen thing. Big portions and no negatives about taking uneaten food with us.We only had the house hot sake, and I suspect more sophisticated and better monied drinkers would appreciate the extensive must if same presentations. Our house sake, though, seemed to epitomize nicely our Kansawa experience today: nothing wrong, perfectly acceptable, but just that last step short of ... noteworthy.

Review for to go orders: Schedule yourself accordingly. An hour for take out is really more like 1.5 hours. The restaurant does not have space to accommodate people waiting for orders so you either stand outside or right in front of their bathrooms and kitchen entrance. The wait wouldn’t be too big of a hassle if the staff at least acknowledged your existence. The staff fly by and I stood there for 10 minutes with staff constantly walking by me without a single saying someone will be right with me or say to go orders need to check in at the back. While waiting for my order I saw that most of my food was ready but was sitting out at room temperature. They were only waiting a single item. As a result, by the time I got home my sushi is warm and my soup is cold.On a day like Valentine’s Day it’s understandable that they can get slammed, but their level of service and efficiencies could be improved on.

Service and atmosphere is pretty good.Parking is a little bit problematic thou.Tonkatsu ramen is on the subtle side, more comfortable when you just want not as strong flavor ramen. The chirashi bowl is amazing! It uses premium sashimi cuts (with a premium price thou)Firecrackers is good and the portion is comparable to a serving of roll. The Kazama special roll (something cilantro, I forgot the name) tasted pretty interesting. If I closed my eyes and eat it without looking at it, it is delicious.Parking: Hard to find parking within the same block

Went for dinner on a Friday night and they were poppin! The customer service was above and beyond. You can tell the staff work together as a team, support one another with customers and help each other out. Everyone was so kind. We were seated very quickly and it was just a fun, happy vibe all around. Not to mentions the rolls are huge! Well priced. And very delicious and fresh. Love this place.

This place was packed on a Sunday night. We went to the back of the store sitting outside with the heat lamp. There was just one our table of seven were trying to keep warm with. It was my first time here. Hamachi collar was very good! The fatty tuna cut melt in your mouth good. But it only has 4-5 pcs. Overall, we had a good experience here with the food and would return. Parking you can park on the street in front of this restaurant or go to the parking building nearby.

Really good rolls. We enjoyed the dynamite roll and house special. The servings were plentiful, taste was awesome, and service was solid.
